  1. I Love the name Tinley from a movie that I can't quite remember the name of right now. I tried to talk my husband into that name but he wouldn't go along with it. I, of course, still love my kids names although neither are out of the ordinary. Trevor is my son and my daughter is Riley Mae. Riley is alittle different for a girl but it is gaining popularity. I wish I would have spelled it Rylee or Ryleigh to help distinguish that she is female but owell. This way we can still find little personalized items with her name on them.
  2. Welcome and congrats! I was a Sandals bride and also from OH-IO!! :-)
  3. Your pictures are amazing! There is one that I really love where he is holding you and you look soooo happy! I think it was the last one on the 3rd or 4th page! I LOVE them all though! Congrats!
  4. Man what a pain! We were lucky and did not lose electricity but my parents did and my grandma still has none. She has been staying with my parents and I think my dad will be lucky if she doesn't kill him before it is all over with..lol BTW Happy belated birthday. We share the same day!
  5. I have been to both Costa Rica and Jamaica. I loved both. I would prolly have to say I liked CR a little better though. It was like 10 years ago so I am sure things have changes alot and it was my first trip out of the US so maybe my opinion doesn't count...lol The one major problem with CR though is that they speak Spanish only there. I was somewhat fluent at the time so I got by. Communication was easier in Jamaica for sure.
  6. Buy groceries: hate spending the money!
  7. Great review. I am sooo excited for you! I feel like you do about Sandals. It is a wonderful place to get married. I would love to a renewal in 10 years like you did. It looks perfect and you and your husband looked beautiful!
  8. OK I was gonna say what some of the others are saying. It is alot of added stress to try to lose a lot of weight at the same time you are planning a wedding. Also they say it takes 30 pounds to go down a dress size and speaking from experience that is very frustrating. I feel like i should be going down sizes faster but I am not. I have only gone from a 20 to a 16 in year. Since returning from Jamaica i have lost the momentum at times so I go up and down. It is just very stressful trying to diet and balance everything else before a wedding. I am not saying you cannot do it cause i have faith in you! :-) If it were me I would buy the new dress (if funds permit it) cause one it is beautiful, and two you can always alter down. You cannot make something that is too small bigger in general. I am sure whatever you do it will be beautiful and perfect though. Maybe if I saw the other dress I would be responding differently. I do love that dress you have posted though!

When you look at the three different sections it really isn't tiny. The couple of time we actually got in the ocean we hung out on the sandy side. That was where the weddings were. Talk about not private at all! They were held right beside the Italian resturant about 15 feet from swimmers. I felt like I was imposing on someone wedding! It made me feel very uncomfortable!
  10. Glad I could help you! I love sharing my pics...lol It was such an incredible time!
  11. I know exactly how much he spent for my ring because I basically picked it out. I gave him a list of the rings I liked and he picked out the one he liked best. Thankfully it was my favorite but I never let on that it was. I really did not want to know when he was gonna propose but he said the ring was something i was gonna have to wear for the rest of my life so I better like it. He did great and because of our smaller budget (I stay home with our 2 year old so we only have one income) I made sure I kept it reasonable then when he went to get it it was on sale for $550 which was awesome! The bad thing the matching band is more than the E ring..lol I was ok waiting on that so we could spend more money on our trip to Jamaica. The deal is I get it this year for our one year and he gets his golf membership..lol Thankfully it falls right around income tax time..lol Here is my ring!

I totally get what you are saying! I am not sure I will ever get used to it. Well I am sure I will but I hope I don't. I love signing my new last name. Even if it doesn't go well with my first (Stephanie Gaskill). I still look at him and it almost feel like I am lying when I say or think husband. It just feels weird. A good weird!
  13. I have a bunch on photobucket if you would like to take a look at them. I too can email anything you are interested in if they are not clear enough from photobucket. I will warn you, I have a ton on there. The Sandals pics start on page 6. Just let me know what you are interested in!! hollisandsteph - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
  14. Bridget- I am sooooo happy things went so well for you. Can't wait to see those. Pics! Melissa- Good luck and I can't wait to see your pics and hear all about it from you too!
  15. My husband and I were just talking and Hurricane Faye would have gone over Jamaica. Did anyone pay attention to what day it did? I think it was a tropical storm then so that helps. I am almost positive it was either Friday or Saturday. Does anyone know?? One of the reason I am asking is Bridget917 is there right now and her wedding day was Saturday the 16th. I will be very curious to see if it effected her or not. I really really hope now. That would be sooo depressing!
  16. I learned that having a destination wedding was the best choice i could have ever made. It was about me and my husband and noone else (we only had one other couple go with us and it was perfect that way) Our ATR was for everyone else and I know if I would had a wedding at home the whole thing would have been about our guest and not us connecting on such a special intimate level. More intimate than anything we have every experienced as a couple! We have always had a great relationship and it was just great to concentrate on each other without outside interuption for 9 full days! There is very little I would change!

We ended up just emailing from the internet where you could get a 10 dollar card for an hour or something. We have Embarq and our kids called us like 3 times and it was $12 so we weren't upset at all. It was much cheeper for us to go this route. We were never on the phone a long time but were still worried about it when we got home.

NO! OMG I just looked this site up and I am lovin it. How are they holding up? I guess it really wouldn't matter since you could just replace it with another. How do they look? Hollis wants to get the same ring he had. We only paid $50 for it so it isn't a big deal but $50 is $50.
  19. Thankfully his is not an expensive ring. It is a tungsten ring but we paid very little compared to a lot of them I found. I guess that is why I am not stressing about it all that much. I do like the idea of us finding it though. I am not one that feels he HAS to wear one. I guess I leave that up to him but I do like the physical evidence that we are married. I am not a jealous person but he is laid off (permanently displaced) right now and when he does get a new job I would like a ring on his finger as a back off sign..lol Ok maybe I have some closet jealousy..lol I am hoping it just turns up but if not I guess we will be ring shopping soon. I am thinking we would just get the same ring since we both liked it so much
  20. So were were married 3 months ago yesterday and my husband ALREADY lost his ring! About 2 weeks ago actually. He is positive it is in the house somewhere but we have searched it up and down. He was always playing with it and took it off for golf and tennis. I searched all his pocket and have had the laundry completely done a couple of times now. I kept teasing him he would loose it within the first year. I honesty did not think it would be before the 3 month mark...lol
  21. Melissa We were actually at SGOR and our friends verizon phone did not work. People could call in but we could not call out. It was really strange. It worked that way with both phones they had with them. We did not even bother taking one. I am not sure if the different sides of the resort made a difference but we were on the Rivera side. Also international calling cards no not work there. You can buy prepaid calling cards in the gift shops but they cost $20 and are only good for a couple of calls. We ended up giving the resort number and room number to our family for calls. We also took our laptop and could get internet off and on in the Rivera lobby and could easily access it in the Manor house lobby. Just an FYI I thought i would share!
  22. From the pic it looks like and L to me too. I would be very upset!
