  1. I am really hating the economy right now. My husband was directly effected by it 3 weeks after we returned from our wedding. We knew things were bad at his job (Fleetwood motor homes) but thought cause of what he did and how long he did it, he would be ok. We were wrong. They laid off 300 people in one day and those that still have thier job are off for all of this month. HE keeps holding out hope that he will be called back. I really just want him to either go back to school (he has started the ball rolling on this) or go find a job. I doubt he is going to get called back within the next 6 month, which is what he needs to keep his pay and senority. We are ok right now. When we got pregnant with our daughter in 05'-06' we did some major bill paying so I could stay home with the baby. Our bills are at a minimum so even if he has to take a job paying $4-$5 less an hour we would be ok. We would just be doing less fun stuff or I go back to work, which I am ok with!
  2. I took my temp certificate to the DMV yesterday and got my license with my new name. I called first and they said to just bring it over and they would take a look at it. I needed to change it to change my name on our checking account so I could cash some checks. It was kinda messy but worked out ok anyways!

No I called the DMV cause I wanted my last name changed on my licences so I could get added to Hollis checking accout with my new name. For the last few years I have just forged his name (LOL) and we thought since we needed to order checks anyways we would get them in both our names. The lady at the DMV said to just bring the paperwork I was given in Jamaica in and they would look at it. A couple of different ladies looked at it and they said it was ok. I know to have our name changed on our SSN card we have wait on the one from Jamaica though. I checked on that one already since I need that card replaced. It is all kinda pain in the butt LOL.
  5. OMG you were not kidding she does look just like you! She is beautiful!!! I understand that whole pregnacy not being for you..I am right with you there! LOL But isn't the end product amazing
  6. I just got back from the DMV. It is official, I changed my name..whoohooo! LOL
  7. Well, I had my AHR yesterday and it was exausting! I am not sure how (or why..lol) people actually have large weddings and receptions all in one day. All I wanted to do when it was over was go home and go to bed. It was a crazy whirlwind of thanking people for coming and hugging relatives that I have not seen in years...LOL I honestly felt like I had deserted my husband and it was supposed to be "our" recpetion. We did have a nice first dance where he said a bunch of nice things to me.:-) Overall it was a great night but I am glad it is all over. Now I can concentrate on just being his wife!!
  8. It took me just over 2 hours too. We thought we had plently of time and were gonna go get something to eat but changed our mind and thankfully we did cause when we got back to my friends room we only had like 45 minutes to finish getting ready. We made it but had we went for lunch I would have been late for my own wedding...lol Well, wish me luck ladies. I am off to my AHR weekend. I have 0 controll of cause my mom, who is normally anything but controlling, took it over...lol The only thing I am allowed to do is buy the alcohol and show up.....uuuggggghhhhh........lol I will post pics on monday!
  9. I loved my hair! It stayed all day and evening even though it was a very windy day. I found it well worth the money! Infact, I am having my hair done again this weekend for my AHR since it made me feel so good. I did not have my make-up done but I had gone to Macy's and got tip from them. I bought some of the make up there and then went to CVS and bought simular (and cheeper...hehe) colors. My Friend had her make-up done though and it was really really nice. I have herd other brides say they use too much eye liner though.
  10. Both one and three are simular so I like them both. Are you having Bridesmaids and/or what colors are you going with?
  11. I was married in May at SGOR. I had a wonderful experiance but then again I have never been anywhere else. I did not do a lot of research and doubted my choice a few months out. My brother had gone there for his honeymoon and that is why I we went to SGOR. I wanted to go somewhere someone I had known had been and somewhere I had reconized the name. I was a little worried about what I would end up with. I also knew I wanted and all adult, all inclusive resort. Sandals fit the bill. I do agree the outside vendor policy sucks! For this reason I did not order any extras but I had a very very small wedding. I think the prices would be out of this world if I had had a large wedding. Once you are there, the wedding coordinator (atleast mine) was awsome. I worried about NOTHING. I know some people do take there receptions offsite. Have you thought about this? I know iriebride08 did this and wrote a review about her whole experiance. Maybe search that.

They went as far as renting a machine that will make the premade Pina Coloda and Daquaris in the maching like in the bar. It is awsome! Then we will just add the Rum cream (and when that runs out Irish wiskey will work!) It will bring back some awsome memories!

  14. I as going for more of a casual fun look cause our wedding was very small and I know this look is not for everyone but here is what I did. There was orange in the GM shirt that matched the MOH's dress which made for some really cute pictures. I really had no idea what I wanted so they tried on several different things. It turned out the white shirt my husband wore looked best on him (they had it in other colors but they did not look great on his friend) and the print shirt looked great on his friend. Not to mention he can wear it again.
  15. Hehe... Me either Amanda! The sad thing is we sat the next night in the middle of the bed eating the left over cake they sent with us. It was pretty funny and totally us. I wish I had someone to take pictures of us doing it...lol
  16. Here is the the table set up at SGOR. I added nothing to the cake and the flowers in the center are the "free" bouquet. I was actully very happy with it and I am glad I saved my money for the fun stuff like excursions and shopping...lol
  17. Welcome, congrats and happy planning!

  19. Sounds like a perfect day! I love the deer in the headlight look...lol
  20. Ever tried a Jamaica Smile We lived on those during our trip..lol It is half Strawberry Daquri, half Pina Coloda and then Rum Cream on top (Bailey or another irish cream wisky works too). I know it really doesn't work well for you AHR but when I saw Rum punch it brought back memories of Jamaica Smiles...lol My BM is having a 4th of July party next weekend and rented an resturant stye machine from Ace Hardware that will hold 2 different types of frozen drinks so we are making Smiles then! I cannot wait. I have actually been thinking about renting on for our reception but not sure if it is too late because we are only 2 weeks away now. Plus I think we would be spending more than we intended on on alcohol. Sorry I know this was off topic alittle bit:-)
  21. I tried it too and really had no problem with it. The first couple of weeks were really the only problem and it was just frequent bathoom trip and no accidents. My husband on the other hand had trouble. I laughed til I cried one day cause he bent over to pick up a toy and had a "treatment effect" LOL He quit taking it tha day! I honestly really did not loose any more than I did before I started taking it. I watched what I ate. Kept a food journal. I was also exercizing. I really had touble spending the money for more when I was doing just as well without it. I lost 27 in all but have sence hit a wall. I thought about trying it again. I am not sure though.
  22. I am glad you are going with the vail! I think it looks really nice and yes they are a pain in the @ss with the wind..lol I only had a blusher vail and still was ready to shed it 10 minutes into the ceremony but glad I wore it cause i love the pics with it on! Oh and BTW can I tell you, my first thought was Wedding Barbie with your tiny little waist and blonde hair....lol. You are gonna be absolutly stunning on your wedding day! Just a couple of months to go!
