  1. Our trip was wonderful and I would, with out a doubt, stay at a Sandals Resort again. The wedding itself was soooo relaxing. I spent the morning of my wedding laying on a float in a pool sipping Jamaican Smiles. I am not sure it could get any better than that. LOL Then we went and had our hair done. It was exactly what I had wanted and I had forgotten my picture! The only thing I could complain about it the weather. It was beautiful all morning and at 3pm it clouded up. Our wedding was at 4pm so it was little cloudy in my pics but it was ok. The ceremony itself was very simple. That is totally what my husband and I wanted. We picked a site that was little off the path so people were not staring at us and our reception was also tucked away from everyones view. It was perfect for us. My husband has even surprised me by telling everyone about it. The whole day was awsome. We started at 8am and did not end until 2am. It definatly was the best day. I am going to try to upload some picture but I really have trouble with it but I will definatly find some way of getting pictures on here.
  2. I believe you can. My friend ordered just the negitives while we were there last week. Hers were not wedding pictures but she got 3 picture negitives for $30. I know the non-wedding pictures are alittle less. I paid $25 for an 8x10 and $20 for a 5x7. I hope that helps.
  3. Asteff and Irebride It was great to meet you both in person. Let me know when you both retrun so we can swap stories and pics! I hope you both had as much fun as we did! BTW Asteff I think you jinxed us with your delayed flights! We got stuck in Ft Lauderdale over night. IT was a night mare. That is the only think I can complain about. Well that and the tipping. Not so much the tipping but people demanding to be tipped. FYI to all those who have an upcoming trip. Take cash. Smaller bills ($5's and $10) are nice. Also the only way to call out is by buying a phone card there or credit card. I gave the number to my kids after we arrived and they just called us. I am not sure what our phone bill is gonna be..lol

( i thought that was what she was for..?) Anyways, so I called the number and they told me to have my TA call in... so by this time I was pizzed off.. so I sent a nice, but firm email to my TA.. letting her know what's going on... that i'm already getting a run-around and shouldnt be.. cuz we spent a crapload of money for this trip. Next day my TA emailed me and let me know that we are booked for Nov. 18th (2 days after we arrive) and I got the 4pm spot.. which is what I wanted. Whew!! It is just the two of us going down.. eloping!! So we don't need any upgrades. We are getting the butler service, so that is plenty! I looked at their fancy floral packages, dinners etc. Which look lovely but totally expensive. $180 for a dozen roses?? wow. I'm bringing my own flowers down. How about you?? What are you sending for documentation? I have to get both or our birth certificates ($25.00 each) or its a cert. copy or something .. then get it notarized I guess. Does this sound right?? I just got back on Friday and it was wonderful! Like yours, mine was small. There was us and another couple. I felt it pointless to spend a ton of extra money on flowers and such and I was glad I opted not to. I was very happy with my "free" boquet. It was very pretty and as soon as I can figure out how I will download a picture of it. I also have pic of some of the wedding sites at SGOR if anyone is interested.
  5. I am a list maker too! My list has one thing left on it and I am heading out the door to take care of it in like 10 minutes. Besides packing the car up and saying ou good bye's I will be able to relax this afternoon! You will be glad you made your lists in just a couple of months!!!!!
  6. We are leaving for the hotel by the airport at 5pm tonight! I cannot believe how quicky time has flown! I am not sure how much I will be on here today becase I still have a long list of things to complete but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the advice and for letting me have a peek into your planning/lives! I will be sure to post some pics as soon as I get home!!! Well, I off to become the new Mrs. Gaskill!
  7. I did not. I just had trouble spending that much money on something I was not 100% sure I wanted. I also just got an amazing camera that my friend is gonna use to take pictures of us with. Then I am going to edit them. I enjoy doing that! I hope I don't regret my decision! I will let you know how things turn out when I get home!
  8. Welcome Alicia!! It is sooo exciting to be planning isn't? It's great to have another Sandals bride. You will have to keep checking in cause there are like 3 of us getting married this week! I know there will be tons of pics!
  9. My FI is actually wearing Kahki shorts and white button down shirt. He picked it out. He wanted to be cool and caual and I have been trying be totally relaxed about everything. He honestly looked really nice in it too. He still hasn't decided on wearing his leather flip flop or the sandals. I am kinda leaning twords the flip flops but whatever he is comfortable in. He was married once. Right out of highschool. It was a horrible experiance for him. I want this to be as amazing for him as it is for me so whatever he wants he gets too...lol I had such a cool thought this morning. I woke up and thought tonight is the last night spend on my own bed! I really do not have all that much left to do the next two days either. My FI has to pack tonight and that is about it. I have to add a couple of last minute things to our suitcases. Other than that I am going to be able to relax!
  10. BTW, I LOVE Ainsley too!!! I have since seeing it on the Siggy.

Wierd, I know! My best friend that is also preg. is naming her baby Charis...pronounced Caris. I told her she was going to have a lot of people pronouncing that "h." Actually the "ch" sound. My Best friend is also a teacher and she said the same thing about a child ruining a name. She had the hardest time naming her daughter. She finally settled on Mallory after watching Family Ties! I really didn't care for it at first (but supported her cause she is my friend..lol) now it is Mallory and it totally fits her! I have a daughter the same age, 2, and I let my FI name her. He settled on Riley Mae. I still love it. It is not just Riley either. It is Riley Mae..lol It kinda just stuck that way. The only thing I don't like about it is after she was born everyone kept telling me "so and so just named thier little girl that". I hope she don't go to school and have like 50 in her class with the same name. I also wish we would have spelled it Rylee just to give it a more feminine feel.
  12. Whoohooo another Sandals bride! Unforantly I am a SGOR bride that is just days away:-)!! I debated on the two resorts and I sure you will be very happy with your choice and I am sure it will be perfect!

That's ironic considering it's my honeymoon AND it's Jamaica, so clothes aren't really that important! Speaking of clothes - what are you ladies taking to wear to dinner? We're there a total of 5 evenings (6 if you count the wedding, but I think we get dinner in our room that night), and I have 4 dresses. It's my understanding that not all of the restaurants for dinner require fancy attire and that a cute top and skirt, shorts, capris would work for most of them. Is that similar to what you ladies have read/heard? Your dress is beautiful! You are gonna look so awsome in it. Are you having your hair and make-up done? I would like to post a pic of my dress by my camera was broken. I actualy just got a new one yesterday. I just need someone to take my picture in it! We leave Thursday morning but are leaving home Wendsday night and staying in a Hotel by the airport. We didn't want to take any chances and the hotel will store our van for the week. Plus we live 2 hours from the airport and have to be at the airport by 3:45 am. When are you leaving? I have been totally stressing about the dress code and what to take. I kinda have a mix of dressy and casual. I bought 2 dresses but honestly, I don't look great in dresses. I did get a few very nice shirts that I love though that I also am worried about my FI. He doesn't want to take any dress pants and honestly he doesn't own any. He just want to wear kakhi shorts and nice shirts. He also doesn't want to take his heavy dress shoes either. He does have sandles that are dressier though. I just not sure they are good enough for all the resturants, especially the Italian one. So what do you all think? Do you think we should get him dress pants and take his heavy shoes? The sandals he does have do not have his toes exposed.
  14. If it is any help at all, I get married a week from Sunday and just booked my hair appointment yesterday. It was not a problem at all. I am like you and just having a small ceremony and really did not want any extras. We are not even having it professionally photographed. I was going to and changed my mind. We were given this amazing carmera as an early wedding present and I love editing photos so my friend is gonna take all the pictures with it. I really want to keep things low key, fun yet memorable. ALso relaxed. I want us very relaxed! Anything I can help you with just let me know!! LOL. Since I am going soon I will try to get pics of the locations for you! I wish I would have seen more pictures. What catergory of room are you staying in? We are in the Rivera building.
  15. Haha too cute. I am know I am gonna get alot of slack for this but my dress is now hanging in our shared closet. I had it our daughters closet and he decided to clean out her closet for our home apprasial and found it. I was soooo upset. He did not even know I had it at the house. I am usually the onle one that goes in there:-(. Well, after that I moved it to our room to make sure I could keep in eye on it. I was afraid it woud accidently get knocked down. It's in a blue bag but you can still kinda see it. He didn't see it on me so I am really not worried about it. BTW I love the TDD dress. It look really good on you and will be perfect for it. I cannot wait to see pictures of course!
  16. I love readin your comments and seeing your pics. I would definatly read it!
  17. Asteff and iriebride- I just got off the phone with Darma. It was great. I was very surprised when she answered the phone when I called. I was actually returning her call from her returning mine..lo We were playing phone tag. I got the last little details set up and taken care of and I also found out she is going to be at SGOR the 15th-19th so she said she was gonna come look me up in the salon when I am having my hair done..lol Not that I really believe she will cause I know she is a busy lady, but hey it is the thought that counts right?? Anyways, keep an eye out for her she is 4'11 with dark hair and eyes...lol I can't wait to meet up with you ladies either!

I think her job will be easy, it's only the two of us coming down! Do we pick what day we get married? Any info would help! Thanks! Be prepared to play lots of phone tag/emailing. She is a busy lady and you may need to contact her and not wait for her to contact you! Just to let you know. It's excting to have everything booked isn't it? Did you pick your actual wedding day yet??
  19. Can anyone tell I have been busy? I have not been on here hardly at all lately and that says something..lol I have mostly been shopping. I am telling you I have to stay out of the stores! I CANNOT spend another dime and as I say that I have a mental list of a few last minute things I would like to get...lol I also still have several things to do to prepare my kids for our trip. They are not going so I have to make sure I have all the medical releases at the schools/doctor/hospital just incase something would happen plus I need to make sure I have thier schedules worked out. I am really only worried about leaving my 2 year old. I stay home with her and have never really left her. We usually just take her everywhere we go. She did great when we did the bachlor/bachlorette parties so I am sure she will do fine but we will be gone 8 days total. I am sooo trying not to stress though (to keep my skin free from acne!) So far so good but we leave town a week from today. If anyone does want to meet up let me know when. I will be there from 5/15-5/22.
  20. I cannot belive how quickly time is going. I thought it would drag this last month but I only have one more full week in Ohio. I am praying the trip doesn't feel like is it going as fast as the last few weeks have gone. I really feel like everything is coming together finally. It felt like it never would and i was really stressing. I know I was driving my FI nutts! The last thing We have to do is book the hotel by the airport. We are 2 hours from it and our flight leaves really early. I think I am going to do that this morning. I am just really excited and wanted to share that with everyone!!! whooohooooo
  21. I was actually thinking about starting a thread like this. I am stress but mostly just about money. Then I am taking it out on my FI. Actually we are taking it out on each other. We hardly ever bicker or fight and in the last 3-4 weeks it seems one of us is annoyed at the other almost every day. Yesterday was a good day all day...no bickering at all. LOL We were in the process of refinancing our house and had it not worked out I would have had to go back to work after we got back from Jamaica. I have been staying home with our 2 year old sine she was born and I am totally not ready to go back yet. Then add all the wedding stuff and preparing for the trip, and not to mention the panic attack I have every time I think about leaving our daughter. We have older kids too but I am not too worried about them cause they are in 5th and 7th grade and understand what is going on. Riley will be in good hand with our families but it stilll makes me nervous! Now that everything has gone through with the house I have relaxed 100%. We are finishing up all our clothes shopping this weekend and then I think everything will be good to go! I have less than 2 weeks to go before we leave. It went from a year to months to weeks to almost days now. Time flew and I cannot wait to marry my best friend, bickering and all!

Sorry, but I just can't book $1200 pic. package. Ouch! Look forward to hearing more from all of you!! My brother and his wife booked the Juilet suite last year for thier honeymoon and he said they were only in it one time and that was it. They said that when the go back they will book a lower catergory just cause they were never in their room and didn't use the pool. We took that into account when booking and booked a room in the Rivera building with an ocean front view. I am really excited to see our room! My FI has never seen the ocean. The cool thing is exactly 2 weeks from this very minute I should be just getting to my room! :-)
  23. I was told the flowers that are included are either carnations or daiseys. Are daiseys not included?

Plus my guests who took the pics weren't in any and didn't have as much fun. This is exactly what I am worried about! I want my guests to have a good time too and be in the photos. I will take your advise and book them tonight! This is just crazy. I leave 2 weeks from today! I spent close to the last year counting down the months. Now it is weeks and soon will be days! Holy cow!
