  1. I am glad you know now! The suspense is the worst..lol
  2. OMG this is a sooo funny! I love this thread. Now I am going to have to log back in sometime after 8pm-ish my time to see the results. I pray you are. I now how exciting it is! Everything happens the way they are supposed to!!!!
  3. What a great review (sadly I never got around to one..lol)!!! You looked beautiful and it sounds like you had a wonderful time!. Wouldn't you do a DW 100 times over again I loved it and almost made me sad reading your review cause I want to do it again! BTW I was in the Rivera building and our room seemed like it had been recently updated. The room was large enough for us and the bathroom wasn't overly cramped. I loved our room. I loved waking up to the ocean view too. The first thing I did when I opened my eyes was open the blinds and look out into the beautiful blue water (well except when it was overcast the first couple of days!)

I just got my bill from that time period and the roaming charges were $245! (I use TMobile) I haven't seen hubby's bill yet! (He's with Sprint!) Another option that may be useful that was shared with us wayyy too late was to buy a local SIM card and insert it into your phone. That way you would avoid roaming charges. SIM cards costed about $16. Anyone trying to work out their communication issues may want to consider this option. Wow that is crazy that you had to spend that much and yes I understand it was necessary! I mean you have to been able to communicate. Right before we left for Jamaica our cell phone was left in the rain. No one was to blame really, it just happen. (ok I admit it, I did it...lol) And we only have one since I do not work. It works out ok. I guess it was a blessing cause we would have been on it more and racked up high bill too! Ours is Cingular Wirless and I did not even check on their rates. The SIM card is a great idea though. It would have saved you a ton I am sure! I have a question how much did you tip all the various drivers? Did you go to Margaritaville that night that it was Sandals night? We did and we had this horrible bus driver. He demanded a tip and was rude when people handed him a 10. He reminded then that that was how he made his living and he did not get paid by anyone to drive the bus that night. We gave him 20 cause we had no change. I would have gave him no more than 10 if we had change! I had the money issue there. We had soooo much trouble getting cash!
  5. Congrats and welcome! Where are you getting married at?
  6. I have a cousin who is 5 years younger than me. She admited to me that she and 10 or so of her friends all planned to get pregnant together. She admitted this to me at barly 15 and ready to give birth!!! I cannot remember how many of the girls were also pregnant or had given birth but i know several had. She now has a beautiful daughter that is 11 years old and in a very inconsistant situation. My cousin is always switching jobs and boyfriends and is always moving. She is only 26 years old and wants to live the life of a 20 something. She doesn't have that luxury. She gets little help from her own mother and depends tooo much on one of her older sisters. Last I herd the father was not in the childs life. Not that I am surprised about that. It is just sad cause once the reality sets in for all these highschool girls it is not going to be pretty!

I don't want to pack any if they have them provided. I usually hagn everything up so no there were not enough hangers for me. I did bring some from home though (6 or7) and there are were like 4 huge drawers in our room so I did fold some stuff. One thing those going soon might want to think about is how or if you are going to call home. We had a lot of trouble with this. 800 numbers do not work in Jamica! We were not able to check our checking account or even our credit card balances (BWT no ATM at the resort). I also have kids and wanted to talk to them so the calling cards we bought did not work. We ended up buying them in the gift shop fo $20 and all we were able to do was call the credit card, the bank and home once and then it was used up so I called the main desk and got the number for people to call in and used our credit card to call home (for a 1 minute call it cost us $10!!!!). I had my parents who were babysiting call every evening and it only cost us $12 for 4 several minute phone calls on our home bill. I wish we would have just had them call us in the first place! I was told not to call home collect cause it would cost a fortune and our friends were planning using thier verizon cell phone but they were not able to call out. They could recive calls though. It was $1.50 a minute for thier calls. I just thought I would pass this info on to everyone. I wish I would have known it before going. Between getting cash and calling home, it was a big headach! Everything else was perfect though!
  8. I am soo bummed. We went to Margaritaville at night cause the guys at the resort said we needed to go at night. We did not have a good time at all. We bought a couple of t-shirts and was ready to go back to the resort. We kinda felt like we wasted our money. It sooo would have been worth it during the day. I want to jump on the water trampolines and go down that slide! Next trip we are going during the daylight hours!
  9. Man I over tipped..lol Well atleast this one time we did. We had gone on this trip to Margritiaville and we had this bus driver who was like intimidating us to give him a good tip. We basically told us we needed to tip him $20! Everyone on the bus complained! We usually tipped $5-$10 but this guy was intimdating! We thought maybe we were undertipping everyone else!
  10. I called about it. I was hoping we would get there sooner by private transfer but you don't from what they said. My dress held up really well. I had it squished in a bag that was small and I actually had to fold the dress a couple of time for it to fit but I did a trial run (put it in the bag over night) the week before and then just hugn it back up. It did just fine. Not to mention the heat in Jamaica is bad! All I did when I got there was hagn my dress up and open up the french doors. What wrinkles were in it were gone by the first night!
  11. I copied and pasted this from my informational package. Have you gotten this yet? If not I can email it to you. I was also told that you did not have to buy a package to get the negitives. If you buy an ala carte package you can get that for $200 extra. From what I understand whatever you order you get double quanity of the negtives (picture CD). I did not get pics taken but you might want to talk to Asteff. She did! A la Carte Wedding Photography Pricing Feeling creative? 12. He really wants to go back where he was working. He made decent money and had great hours- 6am-330pm with half days on friday. The down fall was they had horrible benefits. The insurace was super expensive and had a $4000yearly deductable. My prayer is he finds a compairable job with better benefits. I just hope he can find something on 1st shift. We can afford alittle bit of a pay decrease but the hours are a big concern of both of ours. He has a friend who works for UPS and who has been telling him for years he could get him a job. I think he needs to call him up...lol Another option we are looking into is him going back to school. Since he is laid off we could get more financial aid and there is some sort of trade adjustment act that allows him to draw unemployment longer while he is in school! Of all the options, I think him taking class is the best thing he could do! He just doesn't really have a huge interest in doing it. I know he would do it to improve our lives but I think he needs to be into in order to do well. I know this from my own experiance!
  13. So Friday on the way home from my husand calls me to tell me that he was permantly laid off!!! We did not see this coming at all! We thought it would be ok cause he has a decent amount of senority but they went by the departments instead of the whole company. He has a lot of people with 10-20years in his department. The thing that really irritated us is he helped a friend get a job there just over a year ago. This guy just switched departments a couple of months ago and he did not get laid off. Great for him but it really bad for us. My husband has been there for 8 years. They tell them they can reapply and basically be rehired if the economy improves. If it is within 6 months they will go back to thier original status with senority and vacation time. GGRRRR When are things going to get better? I guess the good thing is that it did not happen before our wedding. We would have been totally stressed in Jamaica. Also we are keeping our fingers crossed that an even better job with better benefits will come along!
  14. If it helps at all, we did not pay the extra for our and we got it back in 6 days! Just an FYI.
  15. I wouldn't stress too much about the dress wrinkling. After the flight you also have a 2 hour drive to the resort in a bus and there are no closets there. Our bus wasn't full so I could have hugn my dress over the seat but at that point I was exausted (we had gotten up at 2am) and I just let them store my dress bag and everything in the storage area. The humity is so great in Jamaica it looked just fine on my wedding day!!
  16. I just got back from my wedding in Jamaica. It was just my husband, myself and one other couple. Only reason the other couple even came was because in a drunken moment at a concert I invited them and I am soo glad I did. I was hoping some of my friends and family would have joined us but noone seemed interested (my parents would have but they stayed home and babysat our children for us). It turns out I am glad it worked out like it did. We had a wonderful time and our wedding was perfect. I was sooo relaxed and comfortable. We did not have to worry about entertaining anyone. We wanted to do something we did it. We did spend alot of time with our friends but we also did our own thing. Like I said it was perfect and don't let people backing out stop you. I have 0 regrets!
  17. OK someone NEEDS to do this so all us BDW addicts can watch it! I know I wouldn't be able to. We did a DW cause my husband is to shy. He would have vetoed it with out a doubt besides the fact that I am 31 and appear 31. I was looking at my wedding certificate the other day and it had a place that said CONDITION. Under it, it had me listed as a "spinster". Now MTV doesn't want me either. Wow I really feel old now!! LOL. I am gonna go take my little poodle and go sulk in a corner now!
  18. Congrats! You will love Jamaica!
  19. I met my husband 8 years ago. He had 2 kids (he had been married) he had total custody of and I one (unmarried). We dated for 2 years then moved in together. I will be honest it was rough. It is sooo hard dating someone with kids. I went into the relationship knowing he did not want to marry again and and did not want kids. I was totally ok with that! Well in 2005 my dad had a stroke and we went home to be with him. I forgot my new birth controll Rx at home and so we decided we would just use condoms. We did...alll but one time so I can pinpoint the exact time we got pregnant. I was scared to death!!! I mean we knew what caused but it was still a huge shock that it actually happened. I honestly questioned weather or not we would be able to survive it as a couple. As it turns out it was the best thing that ever happen to us. Our dauther was born in March 2006 and in May of 2007 he asked me to marry him! I finally felt right. It wasn't cause of our daugher either. I just think we realized that we would be able to work through anything. I swore I would not marry because of a pregnancy. I said that 10 year earlier with my son and said it again. I would have always doubted his motives. I know we married for the right reason. For us! I am honestly happier than I have ever been. I stay home with the baby and referee the 10, 11 and 14 year old...:-) I consider them all my kids!! SO babies before marriage?? For me yes! There is a small part of me that wishes we would have had time to be just the two of us but I guess we will get to date in another 16 more years!
