  1. Ohhh Bridget I am sooo excited for you. Isn't it amazing how fast things went I hope all loose ends are tied up and you have a wonderful time. Good luck and I will be thinking about you (full of jealousy of course...lol)
  2. I was totally ok with it. I actually thought it was gonna be plain but it had alittle color to it!
  3. I have a picture of the table set up with the cake on it. We did 0 upgrades so the picture is of what is included in the "free" wedding:-)! I hope it helps you! We were married at SGOR.
  4. You are too funny. I am laughing out loud at your revoking your law licences comment..lol
  5. I have a desert recipe that everyone loves. The problem is it has to stay cool. What you do it is take Angel food cake and cut it into small almost bite size squares. Then you mix together cool whip and instant vanilla pudding (smaller size box) You add that to the cake then add a small can of crushed pineapple (drained), cut up strawberries (as much as you want) and a bananna or two. Mix it all together. The great thing it is easy and you just throw everything together. If you want to make it more portable, put it in the smaller disposable containers and use plastic ware and toss when you are done. It doesn't keep very well anyways. It gets really soggy. Just thought i would pass along my favorite picknic recipe!
  6. Holy cow! That is a big difference! Most people have the opposite problem with people backing out. How many are actually booked? Anywhere else you can sacrifice (I know I hate to suggest this) to accomodate more in Jamaica? How in love with icecream social and at home reception are you? I know with the price per person just for food when addding the extra 26 is going to be a crazy amount.
  7. Bridget- While I was there I tried the best I could to scope out all the wedding sites. I hated going down there and really not knowing what to expect so I took pics of what I could for you ladies..lol To be honest with you I have no idea where the Garden Gazebo is. I think it might be on the Manor side next to the huge Gazebo. In that case the oceanview is not as impressive. The Reef Gazbo offers a great view and also the pier is really cool too. If my husband wasn't so damn shy I might have suggest the gazebo on the pier. I saw a wedding there and it was very pretty with a great view!
  8. What wedding site are you going with? I did not choose mine but was happy with it cause it was out of the way. Unless someone had had a reception there I don't think anyone would know to look up on that balcony. We were all about the privacy..lol I just did not like the idea of us being in formal wear and having someone hanging out in the same area with a swimsuit and wet hair. It would have made me feel overdressed. I know there was a reception going on the italian resturant while we were there but I did not see the bride or groom at all. It looked like it was all inside. About the music, have you thought about and ipod and one those small ipod players? My step-daughter has one and it is small enough she takes with her alot. There was a cd player that they played while I walked down the isle (song choices are limited) and it was also used for the first dance but other than that I am not sure I noticed weather or not it was on or not.

It was a huge debate weather to wear the wedding dress or not...lol I finally gave in a few days before and decided not to. Hollis wanted us to be more casual but my mom bought my wedding dress so almost thought I should wear it. Although I really did not want to. It wasn't nearly as comfy as I was hoping for..lol So we went on a mad hunt the night before we were supposed to head back to my hometown. I hate shopping for dresses cause I am built so funny!!!! That dress was a result of just wanting to be done but I really liked the dress anyways! LOL My kids were awhole lot more fun to shop for..lol I highly reccommend the musical chairs for anyone who has a competitive family and wants to have a good laugh. It was great! LOL
  10. Congrats and Welcome. CR is a beautiful country. I was in an exchange program there in high school- two summers in a row. I stayed in Heredia the first year and Zarcero the secound. It is an amazing place and it never occured to me to be married there until after booking our DW!! I am sooo jealous of you..lol Congrats again!
  11. Here is one last pic. I wanted to show everyone how nice my kids looked all cleaned up..lol My step daughter is the one in the back and white dress. I took her that afternoon and had her hair done so she would feel beautiful and she was!! My stepson is in the red shirt and my son is in the solid white shirt. I was holding the 2 year old my husband and I have together. Somehow we missed getting a picture of just the six of us (It was a very busy night) so in the rest of the pic is my brother and his family. I think we are gonna go have a real family picture taken soon!
  12. My favorite part of the evening was couples musical chairs. The guys had to sit in the chairs and the ladies had to find a lap when the music stopped! It was a blast! I was the secound to last girl out and Hollis was the male winner. It shows how competitive we are...lol
  13. Our AHR was last weekend and thought I would share the evening with all you ladies and post a couple of pics. To give alittle background, my husband and I decided to get married in Jamica to avoid the stress and the money would spend on a big to do. In addition I moved 3 hours away from my friends and family and didn't want to have to worry about where and how we were gonna to get everyone together. Our actual wedding was very small, just us and another couple. Neither of our parents or siblings were able to make the trip. That was ok with us. I really did not want to have an AHR and after trying to cancell it a few months ago my parents talked me into it and took on the responsibily and in addition decided we were not to worry about a thing. They took care of the venue, the DJ, the food, and the decorations. I was pretty nervous about it but it turned out great! My mom and dad did an excellent job. The decorations were wonderful and the food was great! Here is the cake my cousin made. It's the first wedding cake she has ever made and I think she did a really great job. It tasted awsome too! This where they had us sitting The first, well secound dance since we did one in Jamaica too..lol Oh yea, I decided not to wear my wedding dress cause I wanted things very casual!
  14. That is just absolutly crazy! She is sooo beautiful! I had my tubes tied 2 years ago so there is no chance of another little Gaskill but I want another!!
  15. I just had my AHR last weekend and to be honest with everyone I could have done without it. The point of us getting married in Jamaica was to keep things simple. My husband is very much NOT an attention seeker so he was all for the eloping. My parents were not able to make it to the actual wedding cause my father is a recent amputee so they talked us into and AHR. I tried to cancel it back in January. I was worried about paying for it and really did not want it in the first place. Thanks to the Income Tax stimulas check my parents ended up springing for the whole thing! I don't mean to be ungreatful cause they did and amazing job but I really would have been ok with jst the wedding. I had a good time at the reception but it did not compair to the intimate wonderful wedding we had in Jamica!! I say it is 100% up to you but be prepared the reception is definatly a whirlwind!
  16. Put it on Youtube so we can all watch it! I don't really know anything about youtube but I know I have watched several weddings on it!
  17. OMG that is great!! LOL Let us know what rehab facility you all will be in and maybe one of us BDW ladies will be close by and come in or a visit.lol We could sneek you in some rum or something..lol
  18. Amanda- Did you get your video? How is it? Did you cry watching it all over again? I wish I woulda ordered it now. We have it on our friends camera but I have yet to see it.
  19. Whoohooo Congrats!!!! I loved SGOR and cannot wait to try other Sandals resorts. You will definatly have to write a review when you return. I know that it's months away but the time flies by. We booked ours this time last year and I remember the excitment!
  20. Whoohooo. Congrats. Isn't it an awsome feeling to know it is official
  21. Whooohooo congrats! Babies are even better when they are not expected! Things always happen for a reason. I have a funny stories about drinking (and such) before finding out you are pregnant. I was 20 years old and in college when I got pregnant with my first child. I drank often and lets just say I also occasionally enjoyed one of Jamica's favorite pasttime activities...lol Well, I go and tell my OB/GYN cause it scared the hell out of me. Well, my OB looks at me and says "honey, that is how we all get pregnant now isn't it". I will never forget it. I about died. She was not worried at all! My son is now an extremly smart 11 year old! I think it was the brain development in the first month...lol
