I've tried to quit, but I get such horrible headaches. I don't like coffee or tea, so diet coke is my caffeine. Mike keeps telling me I'll need to quit when we're TTC, so I should start now; it's just so damn hard. I was probably about that bad with my DC too! I went cold turkey off caffeine (yes, I ditched the coffee too) and feel so much better! I'm less bloated, I drink only water, and I just feel better for it. I've been off a little longer than Jen and I highly recommend it if you are trying to lose weight. Also, you'll find you're much more hydrated, which will help with photos
  2. I'm so sorry to hear about all that stress! Its always at the worst times that things break... I know you guys will get through this, and as others have said, this will definitely make you stronger.
  3. I got my hair flowers in yesterday and they look great! I bought 2 of the orchids ("real touch"?) and a gardenia. The gardenia is gorgeous! The orchids look great, though not as real as the gardenia. They will probably be great from a distance though, and if I decide to use them I'm sure they'll look great in pics. I would definitely recommend this seller
  4. Mel - I'll be posting everything sometime next week Its just about that time...
  5. You guys are doing great! I'm so proud of you Jen for staying off the diet Coke. I've had one here and there, but really only 1 a week or so. I think water really made a big difference in my endeavors. I've been bad over the holidays, but I'm really just trying to maintain at this point. I pick my dress up this coming Monday, and I've put on 2lbs over the holidays. I was really good for Thanksgiving, but x-mas did me in. Too much good stuff at work! I need to get back to the gym though... As an aside, between this thread and a lot of hard work, I lost 15lbs in 2.5 months, and a total of 25 this year!
  6. Gels don't need to be painted on the top. They can do a french manicure with a final layer of gel so there isn't polish to chip or discolor. I always used to have acrylic, and they weren't affected by the pool and ocean, but light colored polish (ie french manicures) yellow from sunscreen. If you get acrylic, you may need to have them repainted just before the wedding. Its not a big deal, but the gels are better in this regard.

  10. Those look and sound awesome! I'll have to try them post-wedding!
  11. Lauren - where in Jersey are you? I have an aqua one that Julie got me in the SS. I could give it to you after my wedding and then it could get put into circulation for BDW
  12. I love greens, but never cook them... do they really need all that salt and sugar? Sounds bizarre, but like I said, I never cook them so I don't know what a normal recipe calls for... Paula Deen is rarely wrong though I'm cooking her apple stuffed pork loin right now!
  13. He's gorgeous!!! Congrats!!! So happy to hear that mom and baby are doing well!
  14. Do you guys think Melissa's hairstyle would work with a veil? I love the style, but love my veil also.
  15. I would definitely get them sewn in... I'm getting it done by my alterations lady. I think it was $26, so its cheaper than a bra. I haven't tried them, but the Nubra Frederick's of Hollywood - NuBra is also a good option. Fredericks also has a combination convertible bra with nude straps that can be made completely strap-free Frederick's of Hollywood - Combination Convertible Bra.
  16. Have you looked on Ebay? I would think you could get either actual antique pieces or a great knockoff on there.
  17. It really was a lot of fun and I'm psyched about how it came out! They have about a billion different types of beads, so whatever you are looking for you can find. And the girls in the shop were SUPER helpful. I didn't choose the most affordable beads, but considering I was looking at a few hundred dollars in jewelry, I was really happy with the cost. This place is a real find!
  18. I'd go for the blue ones! They'll look great under your dress I really like having color for your shoes though. I have red beaded flip flops and red heels for dancing.
  19. What about renting villas? Moon Dance Resorts - 7-Mile Beach Negril, Jamaica is one place... that way your OOT guests could stay there and they might be more lenient about guest pass issues. They also have a new Negril cliffs location opening late 2008 and the prices there can't be beat! I know there are a lot of these type of places.
  20. Sorry to hear that your WC sucked it up! I'm sure the future brides will be thankful for your honesty though. I'm also sure that your guests didn't notice the things that were missing Glad to hear that Elizabeth was amazing - I cannot wait to see your pictures!!!!
  21. She's gorgeous Anny! We miss you around here
