I honestly think that the clues are just screwing with me. And I think his 3 planes thing is also screwing with me... I wasn't bugging him for where it was, just was excited to be surprised. I think he got annoyed that I wasn't pestering him, so he started dropping random, weirdo hints. I still think we are going to Florida, but I doubt we would fly from Miami to the Keys, as its a really beautiful drive. I really can't wait to find out! Why isn't June 13th yet

I'd say the best things we spent money on was our honeymoon... and we went all out! We did 3 massages each, got certified for scuba, and spent a fortune extending our vacation for an additional 4 days! That extra time in paradise was really wonderful

I keep thinking its the Keys, but he says no. Now, I'm not sure he'd tell me if I guessed correctly, so maybe it is. I hate to say this, but I hope its not Hawaii... I'm only off from work for 6 days, so Hawaii would be too much travelling for that amount of time... Here's the thing... he sent me pictures as hints... first group had a buoy from Key West, a camel, a baby penguin, a person scuba diving, and a Daytona race car. I know we're going diving because we went and bought fins last weekend. And here's the second group of pics he sent as hints...

So I just found out that my hubby has been planning a special birthday getaway for me for months! I have no idea how he kept it from me, but he did... and we're leaving in 2 weeks! Of course, I have no idea where we are going, and I think his hints are just random things to throw me off, but I know we're going scuba diving, so it must be somewhere warm! And then last night he told me it was in the US, but that we have to take 3 planes, and at least 1 of them is a really small plane. I am totally clueless, but excited!

I just read through this thread and I am so sorry that all of this is happening! I understand your not wanting to play hardball with her so close to your big day, but the whole thing is absolutely ridiculous! I would honestly go through every email and piece of paper you have from them and see where it says that 30 vs. 50 people will cost more. If it doesn't, and that issue has NEVER been brought up before, they cannot change the price at the last minute. I got married at a small location, and there was absolutely something in the contract about price based on number of guests. Also, if your prior contract has everything broken down with decorations, etc included, I would point it out to her. If she wants to charge you full price drinks for the kids, I would suck that up... its probably the least of the issues. Its money-grubbing and crazy to think that a 7 year old will cost as much in drinks as an adult drinking alcohol, but whatever. She obviously has decided that she didn't like the prices her niece was quoting you. The thing is, whether she likes it or not, that is who she delegated to direct weddings. I would point that out to her... and say that you NEVER would have chosen the location if you had known it would cost that much, and that you have everything in writing for what you were quoted. I might also direct her towards BDW now, and show her that destination brides are in a way united, and certainly have influence over her potential future clientele. A good review goes a very long way around here, and a bad review, even a mediocre review, can sway someone away from a place. Are you staying there as well as having the wedding there?

So exciting Heidi!!! Signing all those papers is scary, but so exciting - and then its really yours! Are you guys full-on moving tomorrow?

I think you would be fine without a wedding present, but if you really want to, you can probably find their registry fairly easily. You can search registries online, and most people use the usuals... Bed Bath and Beyond, Macy's, Bloomies, etc. I would think if you wanted to find it, it would be pretty simple

My DH is 3 years younger than me. Very strange since I ALWAYS dated guys 5-10 years my senior. I laugh at him all the time because he's started saying he's old - which I guess makes me ancient - lol.

Thanx ladies Yes, he's a big boy! Newfies get pretty big, but my DH is 6'7" and really wanted to get a dog that was his size. He'll probably be close to 150-200lbs when full grown, but they are really gentle giants. Even as a puppy he is much more mellow than any other dog I've had. And smart! We've only had him a few days and he's picking up commands really quickly.

We totally splurged on our honeymoon and I think 2k still covered everything except hotel. We had already paid for the hotels, so I sort of put that cost out of my mind - lol. We didn't really hold back on anything we wanted... 3 massages each, SCUBA certification, a tour, etc. We did stay mainly at AI's, so that helped, but food and drinks were cheap when we weren't AI.

Introducing our new baby... Ozzie!!! Well, maybe baby is a relative term, since this 4 month old is a whopping 45lbs! He's a Newfoundland, and we are very happy puppy parents!
