If you were planning my wedding..
Nrvsbride replied to TammyB's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Okay I found the link to the gallery: http://www.juancarlostapia.com/Hanna&Terry/index.html I love this slideshow b/c it is just the two of them and I think it's so romantic. Plus I love the color of the groom's suit, it's so different, it's great. Also look how cute the last pic is with the "Thank You" cards held behind their backs. Adorable. -Glenda -
If you were planning my wedding..

See Tammy? Jason and Karen's private ceremony sounds so wonderful. What if you did it at the One & Only? You could ride up in the little carriage ride. So romantic. Did you ever see the couple on Juan's slideshow (on his webpage) that had a private 2 person ceremony at the One & Only? There is one couple that is older and then there is a younger couple who exchanged vows in the chapel. It is terribly romantic. I love it. I'm such a sap when it comes to things like this. And Sarah is right the one & only is stunning!!! You would love it. -Glenda -
A fake ring for now?
Nrvsbride replied to jdweinbe's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I got engaged last may and until recently I never wore my e-ring. I had two scares already where I "lost" it. Now I have gotten used to it and wear it all the time. When I go out and I know I'm going to drink and may end up tipsie, (hey I am marrying an Irish guy stop judging! LOL.) I wear a fake one. My friend who is a jeweler is always telling me how really good cubics look so much better than diamonds, they don't ever become dull and they always shine like crazy. I love fake ones I think they are so fun! And if you lose it you don't have to feel devestated. I am not bringing my ring to Mexico, I would have 50,000 anxiety attacks and would not enjoy my time there b/c I would panick that I would lose it or that it would get stolen. I say get the fake and this way you get something exciting to celebrate when you are able to afford it. -Glenda -
Leigh Miller - Destination Photographer
Nrvsbride replied to cfrancesp's topic in Puerto Vallarta Wedding Vendors
I think you look great the way you are. But if you want to lose a couple of extra pounds quick don't eat carbs until the BDWGTLA. When you don't eat carbs for a couple of days it will flatten your stomach like crazy. And it usually takes some weight off your face too. Plus only drink water and no other type of drink until after your pics. Your skin will look amazing and you will shed some pounds that way too. If my sister doesn't eat for two straight days she drops 10 lbs immediately but I don't recommend doing this, b/c you will probably pass out in the shoot. LOL. I can't wait to see your pics they are going to look awesome!!! -Glenda -

Loving her doesn't even begin to describe her. Obsession would be more like it. Leigh is absolutely great (never met her in person), she is always so helpful and nice to everyone. Plus she gives great advice and her photos are amazing. So glad we have her on this forum. -Glenda -
If you were planning my wedding..
Nrvsbride replied to TammyB's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I picture the wedding completely different. Instead of the usual daytime vows I picture something at nightime. A huppah looking thing on the beach with olive and ivory silk cloth draping all over it. Then I picture tons and tons of candles. In different shades of olive and ivory. This way it is a beautiful candlelit ceremony. I envision personal made vows that are extremely romantic. I picture Marty hysterical crying and Missy being there to help you get ready. And then I would either do one table on the actual sand for a candlelit dinner, or I would take a fancy yacht ride so that the four of you are toasting with expensive champagne while you ride through El Arco in cabo. Or you could have a very expensive dinner at the One & Only. Alternately I see you having that white lounge furniture underneath a larger huppah (also draped with olive and ivory material) in which you and Cain sip champange and hold hands (since you love holding hands) and kiss underneath the stars. And then I see a beautiful small cake. I see you extremely relaxed and not stressed and smiling happily as you stand in the sand with no shoes, marrying the love of your life. ~Btw why would you need more witnesses when duh James and I will be there? LOL. -Glenda -
That is such a cute story! Wtf I want my FI to say nice things about how my smile radiates, etc. You guys are adorable, I'm so jealous of your cuteness as a couple. Thank you for sharing. Matt you have to let me know who is photographing your wedding b/c I am nosy and the suspense is killing me. ~See Jonathan maybe you'll meet your photog bride! We should have one of the other photogs introduce you to some fabulous photog. -Glenda

Sarah it never ceased to amaze me how cute your DIY projects are! You are so crafty. I am so bad at these kinds of things, I have to constantly hire someone to do these little things for me. You should start a little wedding business on the side. -Glenda
-
I don't even know what I'm doing. I hired him for 10 hours but I can't even fathom 10 hours of pic taking. Maybe I should do a trash the dress session or something. Or a day after. Who knows? But I am excited about the book even if it is going to cost a fortune. FI thinks it is so worth it so there you have it. To all the girls who want it just tell your FIs what my FI says to me "Happy wife, happy life". -Glenda

Jenetta is doing this and I was planning to do this as well but then some of the brides who got the cigar roller said it was the biggest waste of money. No one payed attention to the cigar roller b/c they were too busy dancing and drinking. Instead, I have decided to buy some cigars when I get down there and put them in the OOT bags, but just for the male guests. It's a better way to save money and I'm sure most guys will like it. Also, this way they make smoke them with your FI sometime during the week and not at your reception, blowing smoke in everyone's face. I know the Dreams in cabo charges a $150 cigar roller set-up fee and then they charge you about $4-5 per cigar on top of that. If you hire an outside roller they usually charge $350 an hour and then $5-$12 per cigar. Most cigar rollers offer a box of 10 for free but as most girls who ended up getting this service found out, you don't get the box until afterwards so its not like you can give the 10 free ones to your guests. I would not recommend doing this. It can get very expensive and you are better off using your money towards something else. -Glenda

Welcome Matt! Your work as well as well as Sol's is absolutely amazing!!! We are so lucky to have you guys here. Congratulations on your engagement. We cannot wait to hear all about your wedding details. I am dying to know who you two will choose as a photographer. -Glenda
-
I love them all! They are so pretty. #1 is my favorite but based on the look you have always described you are going for I would say #3. #4 is pretty but I don't think it goes with the detailing on your dress. And #2 is very pretty but I don't think its dressy enough for a wedding. I love #3 for you and I think they will look beautiful with your dress. -Glenda

Christa's pic preview
Nrvsbride replied to A10CalGal's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
Wow Christa everything looks so great! I love the pic of you and Rafael when you look all teary eyed. It is such an endearing pic. And I love the pants, so cute! I can't wait for you to come back and tell us all about everything. Of course I devoured your review but I still want to hear more b/c I am selfish. -Glenda -
At this very moment I feel like very single girl I know is getting married and so every other phone call I get sounds like your vent. People are selfish!!! They want to bitch about how much a wedding is going to cost them but when its their turn they have no problems picking $756 food processers for their registry, expecting their bridesmaids to wear heinous $1,000 gowns, having people pay $500 for a bachelorette party, and then expecting you to cough up wads of cash for their wedding gift. I am so sick of selfish people. They, along with your BM need to get over themselves. I am so sorry that you are dealing with this right now. She is rude and inconsiderate and I know its so easy to tell you to blow her off, but she is your friend so it is just so frustrating. Unfortunately I would just try to keep things civil but I would not offer to pay for anything. It's her problem that she didn't book on time. -Glenda

Decoration ideas for a fountain??
Nrvsbride replied to anaderoux's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Anny I was going to say do either rose petals and floating candles or do floating flowers kind of like the pic you posted with the candles. But I agree with Joellen I love the rose petals and then the floating candles. I think it gives it romance and sophistication. That place is beautiful btw! I hope you have my seat reserved already. LOL. I guess you will have to tell your FI that you need a vacation to NY b/c you will have to hand deliver my invitation. -Glenda -
To do, or not to do, that is the ?
Nrvsbride replied to Mishi's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I totally love the beach also but I def think you should do the clifftop ceremony. It sounds wonderful and the scenery will be amazing. Plus everyone gets married on the beach, it's nice to do something different. Also I know you have a small amount of guests but do you want wind blowing sand all over the place? I say do it on the clifftop you won't regret it. And it's not like you can't go down to the beach after the ceremony and get great pics on the beach. As far as the rose petals go, I say do it! It is such a nice idea. Just ask the place if they will allow this which I don't see why they wouldn't. You can pacakge them in clear little baggies and tie a ribbon around them with a little card insert that tells your guests about the rose petals. I think guests will love it. That is such a nice romantic touch! SHEER ORGANZA WEDDING GIFT BAGS These are $4.95 per dozen. This is just to give you an idea of what you could do. -Glenda -
