  1. Jill the pics are great! Lenita is so pretty that I'm sure it's so easy for you to take great pics. I can't wait to see her wedding pics. Thanks for giving us a teaser! -Glenda
  2. You know what I don't mean to scare you but Fo is right. A lot of jewelers do that. But I'm assuming you have your ring insured so you must have gotten an apraisal and they probably would have told you otherwise. I know this jewler who sold a customer a ring and her diamond kept getting loose so she kept going back to the store to complain and he got so fed up with her that he ended up using some strong adhesive glue and just gluing the diamond on to the setting!!! Jewelers do crazy things, trust me. -Glenda
  3. Hi Dee it is so nice to meet you and welcome to the forum! Courtney has become one of our most active new members and we love having her so I'm glad that you are on the forum as well. I think it is so cute that you are the MOH as well. That is so very sweet!! Let us know if we can help you with anything. -Glenda
  4. Sarah I am so glad you had a good time! What happened with the table runners? Did you try them out on the tables or not? Just curious. It sounds like the Hilton is amazing and I know all your guests will love it there!!! Good deal on the bus too. And as a side note Mi Casa is where Jennifer Aniston spent her time at when she was in Cabo. So if it's good enough for Jennifer Aniston it's good enough for your guests! LOL. -Glenda
  5. Anny and Kate I have a question. I want to do laser but I want to know what you do in between sessions. What I mean to say is if I do a session today and the next session is not for another month or two do you just leave the hair like that? Or do you wax or shave in the meantime? I want to do this but I can't imagine getting it on my face and then having to let the hair on my face grow for months before the next session. Wow I sound like a werewolf don't I? But you know what I mean. LOL. -Glenda
  6. This is everyone's life story. No one's family is ever happy with the thought of a DW until after the fact. Don't stress about this you will never please everybody. You have to have the wedding that you and your FI want at the location you guys like. It would be great if everyone went but at the same time if they can't go, they can't go. The wedding must go on with or without them! -Glenda
  7. Welcome Cooper! Your work is absolutely wonderful. We love having photogs on here so you have come to the right place. ~Jonathan I was wondering where you were. You went all MIA on us!! -Glenda
  8. Aaaah now I get it. Thanks T! -Glenda
  9. Ooh Anny did you give them to your guests yet? I love hearing about people's reactions. -Glenda
  10. Only b/c a lot of my friends are jewelers I can tell you that I don't think it's normal for it to keep happening like that. Especially since you have platinum which is a strong metal. I think I may know what the problem is: 1. you have the prong set too high. a lot of people get a high set prong so that the ring will look bigger. But in actuality it puts the diamond in a vulnerable position. i would get my setting to a standard fit...not too low, not to high. 2. the quality of the prongs may not be so great. Granted i am not a jeweler but my advice to you would be to go somewhere you trust (don't go back to this place) and have them put a new prong. I think what happens is that they melt the prong off and set a new one. It shouldn't be ridiculously expensive. Also, have them make you a new prong set that is set a little closer to your band. This way it will be sturdy. And make sure to let them know that you've had problems in the past and that you want a nice strong prong. I know it sucks to have to pay extra money for something that should have been done properly in the first place but I think it will be worth it in the end b/c after all this is your e-ring. Good luck! -Glenda
  11. Thank you Melissa. Wait now I am really confused. They are a video and lighting event company? I don't know why I thought they were a band from the posts I read. Hehe. -Glenda
  12. Okay I hear a lot of girls talking about The Twins in their reviews for cabo. Who are they? I am assuming they are a band. What kind of music do they play? What is their fee? I tried doing a search but I couldn't find anything on them except for a couple of people's post on them. Help! -Glenda
  13. This fee really sucks! I would do exactly what your doing, getting legally married at home and then having a symbolic wedding. This hike is not a good idea at all!! It's going to cause people to not want to get married in DR and go somewhere else like Puerto Rico or Mexico. That is a dumb move on behalf of tourism!! -Glenda
  14. Tammy when you for your fitting bring all the jewlery with you and try it on in as many ways as possible: 1. necklace, dangly earrings and just place your hair in a bun with a hair tie and put some hair screws in so we can get the feel for it. 2. only necklace with hair ties and studs. 3. no necklace and just the dangly earrings 4. no necklace, dangly earrings and hair screws 5. no necklace and just the studs etc. etc. this way we can tell you what will look best. That and you know we love pics and want to see as many as possible. -Glenda
  15. Thanks guys for the input. I really love the red sash I think it is so pretty and different but I think I would go with the white one just so that I can get that clean white pure look. LOL. I don't know if this one is $99. I doubt it. But I still think it's affordable so I may get it. -Glenda
  16. This is the dress I like. Any thoughts? I am not going to wear it in Cabo just for my secret church ceremony. My FI likes traditional wedding dresses with the train but they are not really me so I figure I can buy a traditional dress for the church ceremony and then get the one I like for cabo. David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns T9293 Satin trumpet gown with obi sash with beaded detail. -Glenda
  17. Oops I also forgot to mention that they are having a special with no interest and no payments for 12 months if you buy before the sale ends. Sounds good to me! This way even if you don't have the money saved up yet for a dress you have a whole year before you even have to make a payment. -Glenda
  18. Jessalyn I am absolutely speechless. And trust me that rarely happens. I think I have stared at your invites for like a half hour now. They look fantastic!!! I cannot believe you made those yourself. Seriously I am going to put every girls great ideas here into a book and sell it for people planning DW's. We will all be rich!!!! These invites are so nice. I love the color and look to them. Putting them in a box makes it so nice and I love the starfish!!!!! -Glenda
  19. In honor of my latin background I may go ghetto and deliver my STD's to my family by hand. LOL. Most of them live around the block anyway and one aunt lives in my building. How ghetto fabulous of me!!! -Glenda
  20. I know exactly how you feel. Like Amy my wedding is not until July 2008 and I am dying to do everything NOW!!! But I know I need to wait b/c I will change my mind a million times and fashions will change. I would def hold off on that, although you are probably dying to buy all your cute outfits now. My problem is that I am a pretty decisive person and I could honestly plan a DW in a day if I had to. My mind races and I come up with ideas a mile a minute but then once everything is done I am bored. And then by the next month I have new ideas and I want to do something different b/c I feel my original idea is old and tired already. I don't even know if that makes sense. I don't even want to wait until next year I want to go get married now!!!! -Glenda
  21. Tammy I really like Cain's shirt and I love, love the fans. They are gorgeous and the green looks fantastic. I love all your jewelery especially the earrings. However, if I am going to be honest I don't think that the necklace goes with the earrings. The necklace and the hair screws go together but I don't think the earrings match the look. The earrings are fabulous but the studs would be better suited for this. Also fashion people always say that you shouldn't overdo jewelery by wearing a necklace, earrings, bracelet etc. If you wear a necklace as pretty as that with diamond look details then you should wear studs to keep the look clean. But I can't tell what the front of your dress looks like. If the neckline is higher up then I wouldn't recommend wearing the necklace b/c it might look too busy. I love the back of the dress by the way. Okay I'm rambling it was just fashion week here a little while ago and now I've got all this fashion crap in my head.
  22. Julie can you post your STD so I can see it since I am getting the same one as you? Oh and I don't get it do some come with your name and some come with your FI's name or is 2 per guest? -Glenda
  23. Melissa that is the nicest thing I ever heard. Your FI is going to love it. I am going to contact my friend's husband and ask him how much he can get a tag for. Is there any specific model someone wants me to ask about? If not I will just ask him generally how much he could get me a tag for. I know if you pay cash he will take off a lot from the price. I will tell him that they are for me so that he gives me the best deal. I'll post when I find out just to give you girls an idea. Hmmm...why do I already see myself treading through snow with a bookbag full of Tag watches? LOL. First pashs now watches. I swear my FI thinks I'm crazy!
  24. Anny they look so cool! I want one. LOL. I absolutely love the color, you used the colors very well. The envelope is gorgeous! I love everything about it including the stamp. Great job!!! -Glenda
  25. I think I am going to end up getting BD pics as well and giving it to him. Sarah I was laughing when you posted b/c I also wanted to get him a watch but I had also given him a Movado and I didn't know if I could afford anything that would top that. But luckily my friend's husband is a jeweler and he told me he could get me good discounts on expensive men's watches. Like he told me he could get me a $18,000 rolex for $3,000 b/c he is a diamond distributor and so he only pays wholesale price and not retail. If you want me to ask for anything specific for you PM me and I will found out what kind of a price he can get. -Glenda
