Funny question to those who have been to Cabo...
Nrvsbride replied to Erynn's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Another great tip from the ever wise Natasha. -Glenda -
I am in absolute awe of these invites. There are no words. I mean this as no offense to any of the other DIY girls but these are possibly the most amazing DIY invites I have ever seen. They are so colorful and beautiful but most importantly they are a true reflection of your personality. I just absolutely love them. I cannot even imagine how you made these. You, Sarah, Ann and all the other DIY girls are just amazing. I have no idea how you do the things you do, it's just crazy. You DIY girls should really go into business together and make some moola for poor schmucks like me who can't even draw stick figures. Anny I really, really love these. -Glenda

Louisa it sounds like everything worked out great. And I am so glad all the girls liked the pashs. I always get nervous that someone is not going to like them. The El Dorado sounds so fabulous. I want a swim up casita. It just sounds so great!!! I'm so glad everything worked out okay. You were such a pretty bride. -Glenda

Melissa's pictures!
Nrvsbride replied to MelissaH's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
Melissa in the words of Homer Simpson "why you little @#$%!!" I can't believe you give us one pic (which is beautiful by the way) that shows you guys from behind. I don't even get to see a closeup of your make-up or dress. You should be ashamed of yourself!!! And now your on Tammy M's list so good luck to you. -Glenda -
Funny question to those who have been to Cabo...
Nrvsbride replied to Erynn's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
If anyone is wondering I have been to Acapulco in August, Riviera Maya in January and Acapulco and Cancun in March and it humid in all those places except for Rivera Maya. It wasn't too bad. But the other locations had high humidity. For anyone that hates their curly hair (and I'm talking about someone that never wears it curly they blow dry it all the time) I cannot recommend thermal reconditioning a.k.a. japanese straightening enough. My hair is extremely thick and curly and I got it done years ago and it is a miracle. It is to hair what contacts was to people who wore thick glasses. It makes your hair permanently straight. It could be 180% humidity and your hair will not frizz. Not even one single curl. It is the greatest thing ever but I would only recommend this to people who like having straight hair 24/7 and never like having curls or waves. -Glenda p.s if you do this you can have curls by using a curling iron but you won't have your natural curl. -
Melissa's Barcelo Maya Wedding...
Nrvsbride replied to MelissaH's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Melissa I am so glad to hear that aside from some minor glitches your wedding was a success. You have such a great, carefree personality that it def helped to make your wedding a fabulous time. If they had stabbed me in my wrist...well let's just say I would have been a baby about it and been miserable for the rest of the trip. Okay I'm sure I would have gotten over it but I still would have been cranky. I love the garter toss story. How great! John is so funny! Poor guy I can't believe he passed out. There is no way in hell that I would do the legal marriage in Mexico. Sorry not gonna happen. You are brave to go through with it. Once she said the word "wrist" I would have been like "uh sorry no can do" and I would have walked out the office and gotten myself a margarita ASAP. Then I would have just gotten legally married at home. The wedding sounded fabulous and I am so glad that the OOT bag thing worked out. I am dying to know what you ended up doing with your table runners. -Glenda -
Wedding Know-it-all!

I love the Dr. Seuss vows. I would so do this if my FI agreed. Even though it is ridiculous I think our guests would get a kick out of it! Thanks for posting Courtney. -Glenda -

Tasha the pics are great! I absolutely love the use of color in your wedding decor. The bridesmaids dresses color is beautiful!!! And you look like such a happy bride, like you are having the time of your life. Everything looks just perfect. YAY!! -Glenda -
Welcome your wedding looked absolutely gorgeous!!! So nice to have you on the forum to help other brides out. Your pics are beautiful and 28 guests sounds like the perfect size. -Glenda

Jamy I think the proper etiquette is to not mention this anywhere. You should do it by word of mouth. Have your parents and bridal party spread it around that if people do want to give gifts that aren't of a monetary nature they should mail it to your house and not bring it to Mexico b/c not only will you not have room to lug it back, you will also have to pay a tax. (I don't even know if you have to pay a tax but I'm just mentioning it just in case). If you put it in your letter some people may get offended that you are assuming that people are going to buy you gifts. You know how rude people are!!! LOL. If you really want to say something than I think you should. I'm a fan of doing whatever I want, lol. But the proper etiquette is to not mention anything. This is considered the equivilant of putting your registry on an invite, it's considered rude. I think most of the married girls on this board will tell you that people are usually good about not bringing gifts. If you think about it, no one wants to lug a microwave to cabo for your wedding anyway. -Glenda

Christine you look ridiculously good. Holy crap you look so hot!!!! Your FI is going to die when he sees these pics. I am so glad you are going to get a pic of him when he opens them up. Of course we will demand that you post the pic of his reaction b/c we are selfish and need to see it. Leigh your work never stops amazing me. Everyone always looks so good, which I'm sure isn't hard to do considering all the girls are gorgeous. But seriously Christa is right you always make everyone's eyes look so amazing. I love the color in your shots, they are so bright. Ahhh Christine I can't wait for you to give them to your FI. -Glenda

I am so sorry that you are going through this. This is supposed to be an exciting time in your life when you are waiting to be asked. They are already killing all your joyous plans by putting in their two cents. How rude!! I mean seriously you would think that they would let you get the ring before they start bitching!! Don't worry you are going to have an amazing wedding and no one's rude comments should stop you from having it. Almost every single person on this forum has heard the same "selfish" comments from someone in their family. I know it is so hard to do especially when your not even engaged yet but you will have to learn to ignore them. People are always going to say what they want. And if you really feel that you won't be able to ignore their comments, come visit me for a week in New York and after you hear people's rude comments here you will grow 5 layers of thick skin and you will return ready to tell your soon to be in laws where they can shove their comments.

I totally skipped over this thread thinking that this was an old thread of the other Natasha's wedding pics. LOL. Finally I was like "wait a second, Carla wasn't Natasha's wedding coordinator, Maye was." Then I realized it was the other Natasha. Ahhh lack of sleep is causing oxygen to escape my brain. ~Okay on to the important things. Natasha your wedding looked absolutely amazing! I love the table runners, the color combo looks great. I don't even know what words to use to explain to you how great that dress looks on you. Absolutely fabulous!!! Tammy is not the only one that was drooling over the cupcakes. They look amazing and I want one. LOL. It looks like you had a great wedding and I hope everything went well. I can't wait to see more pics and read your review. -Glenda

Courtney do share your geeky answers to each situations. I am dying to know what you are going to tell people. LOL. ~Jamy what the hell is wrong with people? I agree with your parents 100%. In all seriousness I make a million jokes on the forum that I am going to crash people's weddings, blah, blah, blah. Clearly everyone knows I am kidding. It's only funny b/c we are forum friends. But I would sooner die than ask someone if I am invited to their wedding. Who the hell does that? That is so rude and tacky. I am embarrassed for your co-worker. And she had the audacity to tell you that her feelings were hurt? I'm sorry did you just get picked last for dodgeball? What the @#$%? Some people are so socially akward that there is no hope for them. I'm sorry you had to go through that uncomfortable situation. -Glenda

My FI and I got engaged at the Four Season in NYC and we decided that we were going to try to go to a four seasons every year in different parts of the world for our anniversary. This is the one we are really dying to go to. We are trying to plan a vacation for the summer but we are torn between doing a site visit to cabo or going to the Four Seasons Maui. Please take lots of pics!! Btw what are the legal requirements for getting married in Hawaii? -Glenda

Congrats! I hope you had an amazing wedding and it was everything you dreamt of and more. Hurry back with tons of pics and a review. -Glenda

Our Cabo honeymoon...
Nrvsbride replied to A10CalGal's topic in Share your Wedding & Engagement Stories!
Christa thank you for sharing the review and I am so glad you had an amazing time (minus chauferring everyone around). That is wonderful that you got to relax after all the stress of wedding planning. -Glenda -
Ok I found it: He slipped the ring on her finger a promise made for life . . . Join us as we share their joy now that they're man and wife! A party to honor the newly married COUPLE will be held on DAY at TIME ADDRESS I think it is very cute! You could either make the invites yourself or you can have them made, but I think it would be fun to make them yourself. You can buy cardstock at staples or any other paper supply store and then just print them at home and decorate them however you like. -Glenda

Christa's Pro Pics - Cabo Surf
Nrvsbride replied to A10CalGal's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
Christa I don't even know where to begin. I'm just going to ramble on in random order or else I will forget everything: 1. I love the pics, they were amazing and I am so glad you had a huge selection of pics to choose from. 2. Your dress looked gorgeous as did your make-up and hair. I love the flower that you chose for your hair. 3. The Cabo surf is so pretty! I love the intimate vibe it gives off and I love the rocky sand, it's such a nice backdrop for a wedding. 4. I loved the crisp white linen table clothes, they looked amazing. Along with that I really like the way the pink/fuschia flowers gave the table a colorful vibe. And I'm so glad the e-bay chair bows worked out perfectly. Love the lanterns hanging over the table, just beautiful. 5. The kids are so cute. Are they both R's sons? For some reason I thought he only had one son? Maybe I was thinking that b/c of the little one who needed his mom's permission to fly. In any event they are adorable. 6. I love the tequila shot that you did with your guest after the ceremony. Great way to kick start a party! 7. My favorite pic is of you brushing your teeth, so funny! 8. I loved the cake, it looked so nice. Did it taste good? 9. You guys look so happy and I am so very happy for the both of you. I hope your wedding was everything you wished for and more. -Glenda
