In the end, soup to nuts I think ours will cost about $20000. This includes the following:

-Dress and alterations and veil materials

-Photographer and outside vendor fee

-Welcome dinner

-private 2 hour cocktail reception w/apps and open bar

-cake

-mento band

-our room 7 nights at AI, 2 roundtrip tickets for us

-2 rooms for my attendants for 3 nights at AI

-flowers

-guest passes for guests staying in other resorts

-Welcome bags and favors

This didn't include my little extras:

-shoes and tiara

-attendant gifts

-parents gifts

-bubbles and guest book

-my hair, makeup and nails

-FH's suit

-custom bev naps

It looks like ours will come in at $18,000 BUT that includes three weeks in Mexico for the two of us and a week for FI's daughter. My mom bought my dress so that's not factored in. The photographer is the most expensive single item at about $4000. The actual wedding will be about $5000 (dinner, alcohol, speaker rental, table centerpeices etc). I think you're on the right track.

My wedding will cost about $20,000 for the day of. This does include our three biggest expenses; photographer ($5,000), dress ($3,000) and bar ($3,000-5,000). It can definitely be done cheaper, but I know I am still spending less than my friends at home. I almost forgot- this also includes the rehearsal dinner for 50 people and a welcome dinner for 50 people.

Ours ended up costing a little over $20K and we had 75 guests. This included everything from the invitations and OOT bags to the last drink consumed at the reception and our TTD two days later. We also paid for welcome drinks for everyone one night and then a welcome sunset dinner cruise the night before the wedding.

We didn't really have a set budget, just to keep it reasonable. it was below $5000 and now we've decided to go with fresh flowers all around, so we've moved up to $6000. Although probably one of the biggest things that we don't have to worry about is travel and hotel. My future in-laws are paying for that because they are so excited we are having the wedding in Akumal. Other than that, the $6000 includes every little thing.

Ours will probably cost about $5000 total. $2,400 of that is for the cost of the resort's wedding package and probably another $700 on top of that for the resort's photographer. My dress is $1,300. Everyone is paying their own way to Mexico and my FH's parents are paying for his two week stay and my parents are paying for my two week stay as a wedding gift. :)

Our budget was supposed to be $10k, but the costs for decorations, photography and my dress is driving the price up to approximately $13k. This total is not inclusive of airfare (which is for 2k for me, FI and our son).

You are on the right track. Had this wedding been at home, we would be paying at least double because the guest list would not be so small..you know how that goes!

I would say that our total will end up just under 20,000. Our trip itself is about $7,800 and then our photographer was the one place I knew we would be spending a lot of money, at $6,000 for wedding day and TTD. Those two things make up most of our cost. It still WAY cheaper than if we got married here and we get to spend two weeks in paradise!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
