  1. I sent invitations to everyone who received a save-the-date-card. The ones who already declined before the invitations went out, I included a small note saying that we will miss them at the wedding but are thinking of them. We told them to keep the invitation as a keepsake.
  2. That is a funny story! You guys look adorable!
  3. How exciting! I'm looking forward to the pictures. Have a great time!
  4. Oh dang, I didn't realize the seaweed has gotten bad. This was the most recent review on Trip Advisor. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g150812-i23-k8133493-Seaweed_bad_at_Riu_Palace_Mexico_Playacar_area-Playa_del_Carmen_Yucatan_Peninsula.html http://mission-blue.org/2014/10/sargassum-inundates-the-beaches-of-the-caribbean/
  5. It's becoming real. We leave for Mexico in 30 days. I feel like I HAVE so much to do but don't know where to begin. Do you brides have any advice on what you did within those 30 days??? I'm just getting soooo darn excited!
  6. It's definitely a personal preference. I have heard one of the other and usually the resorts are very accommodating to your needs. I know it can be a headache on getting every document translated, the apostille and the blood test. We decided to do a symbolic ceremony instead. We have an officiant who will marry us at home two days before we arrive into Mexico. I have notified our guests that we will be doing an the exchange of our rings.
  7. They looked so, so, so beautiful! I can't wait to see the rest of your pictures!
  8. Yay and congrats!! I'm so glad you had an amazing time! I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures!
  9. Their signature cake was included in one of the packages we chose. This is the one I chose. It's alright but I am really simple. Haha.
  10. We are skipping the wedding programs. It's mainly our family and some friends which they already know who is who. I think we will do the wedding favors and stick with that.
  11. A lot of our guests have been asking us what the attire is for our wedding. All I told them was "semi-formal/beach formal". We just want our guests to be comfortable but still look nice.
  12. EVERYONE has asked me if I was going to change my last name. Since we have a child together, I wanted to have the same last name as my fiance and our daughter. I'm going to be so sad when I change my last name because I really do love my last name. My (maiden) name is 13 letters long and it's not a common last name. I'm going from 13 letters to 4 letters, lol.
  13. Soooo exciting! We haven't had a REAL vacation (that wasn't a business trip or local related) in forever so we are pretty excited to share this moment with our daughter. The last trip we took together was in Miami for a destination wedding but we didn't stay long and our daughter was just barely a year old. This is going to be our last vacation in awhile so I cannot wait to enjoy it.
  14. *hugs* I felt the same way too and was beginning to doubt our choice of having a destination wedding. I was thinking that a Mexico wedding was too much and felt like we should have done Austin (2.5 hours away from our hometown) wedding instead since we knew everyone would be able to make it. It's completely normal to feel bummed but don't regret it. This is what you and your fiance wants. That's what I told myself...this is what we wanted and we are happy with the choice. Now that we are getting closer to our wedding date, I don't regret it at all. We are excited but we are sad that most of the important people cannot make it. Overall, you guys will have a wonderful vacation and a beautiful wedding.
  15. Hello and welcome! Congrats on the date.
  16. I feel the same way. I am so burnt out from the wedding. Having to balance my full-time job, my daughter and the wedding, I am going bonkers. We finally bought airfare tickets, confirmed with the resort with our guest lists and checklist, and arranged a shuttle van to/from the airport. Oh, I also went ahead and dropped my dress off at the tailor and bought my wedding shoes.I still have a lot to do and I know it's going to creep on me very quickly.
  17. Lucky girl! I am getting so close! Ahhh!
  18. How are the 2015 brides doing so far?
  19. *hugs* I'm so happy you have your sister, your friends and your MIL to lean on. You looked gorgeous in ALL the dresses. I am loving dress #2 and #3. I look forward to hearing what dress you do decide to choose.
  20. I'm so sorry and I completely understand how you feel. Most of our guests backed out because the airfare to Mexico was ridiculously expensive. (The funny thing is the flight is only 2.5 hours) I use this app called "Hopper" and it's similar to Kayak. It notifies you when the rates are dropping and when it's a good deal to buy on it. It has helped us out tremendously because I was able to buy 10 airfare tickets for $2400 through VivaAerobus. Good luck and don't get discouraged yet!
  21. We have been together for 9.5 years before he proposed to me. We even bought a house and had a kid during those 9.5 years, lol. Now we have been together for 10 years total and finally tying the knot.
  22. Wow, thats awesome! I love how you went with the cartoon art. That's pretty neat for a wedding invitation!
  23. Aww, I bet it is frustrating. I'm so sorry. I hope you can get everything coordinated before your wedding. Your special day is coming up so soon! 2 weeks to be exact! My plans are coming along ok. Actually, the wedding coordinator just emailed me and said she needs our guest list and our checklist to her by 2/17 and I still have yet to get my RSVPs back. I'm such a dummy and sent out our invitations so late. I am hoping she is letting me add them slowly. At least until the end of March.
  24. Have you heard anything back yet?? I hope you hear back from the wedding planner soon! *crosses fingers*
