Congrats on your enagament Jade and welcome! This forum is great for DIY projects, and ideas. I think going with orange and coral colors will look great in a destination location. Have you spoken with a TA about the 3 specific resorts you are interested in? They are usually pretty helpful in finding out information about wedding location on resort and options for reception. My TA was also able to contact my WC (on my behalf) with a list of questions about the location and reception options and she got a response in a timely fashion (didn't have to wait weeks). Welcome Jeanna. I stayed in playa del carmen, but took the ferry across and zipped around cozumel on a scooter. So much fun. The water will be a gorgeous backdrop for your wedding. This forum is fantastic for info and ideas. Happy planning

I'm using the weddingwire.com. We liked the different styles you could select from. It was easy to set up and navigate and make changes to. We are very excited to be sharing it with our family and friends.

We went for a friend's wedding last year to Mexico, and Transat had a special compartment that was labeled "Bridal Gowns ONLY"... but there were also four brides on that flight. I think all 4 dresses fit comfortably in that bin, and my friend didnt have any wrinkles to steam out when she arrived at the hotel (her dress was chiffon). We will be flying with AirCanada, and my FI and I went to a DW seminar hosted by AC Vacations, and they assured us that their destination airlines have a compartment reserved for bridal gowns.

I'm curious to know how far you are willing to go to find your wedding dress. Are you an online shopper that had it delivered to your door? Found it in the city you live? Or did you find a dress you saw in a magazine and hunted down the store that had it and took a trip? I've gone shopping a few times and have been able to narrow down some choices. I did find a dress I like here in Calgary, but is it 'the one'... I'm not sure. I'm going to NYC in a month, and I will be dress shopping there with my mom, and MIL. I also got an appointment at Kleinfeld (and I did fill out the application for SYTTD, but I'm still waiting to hear back about casting). Even if I am not casted, an experience at Kleinfeld with their staff and expertise is a dream come true. I am so hopeful, and almost positive that I will be buying a dress in NYC that maybe that's why I don't want to commit to the dress I found here and say it's "the one". I hope I don't sound so crazy that I'm flying all the way across the continent to find my dress.

It is amazing how quickly time passes. Our wedding date is set at the resort. We're just waiting for the 2013 wedding packages to come out officially so we can decide and plan. We were told that the packages wont come out until Aug... more waiting. I have looked at the previous years, so I definitely have an idea of what's in store. My FI wanted to take a separate trip down to the resort prior to the wedding so we can scope out the place and pre-plan, but I was like, 'naaah we'll just meet with the WC when we arrive and take a couple hours to pick everything out'. After reading through lots of forums on this site, I have complete faith in the WC and their capabilities...

Hi ladies! Im a June 2013 bride (*gasp im on ths thread- pls dont kick me out ). Our TA has been just amazing from the start of our wedding planning process. We were engaged in Nov 2011 and I cant believe the wedding is less than 14 months away. Time flies by, and this website is awesome for helping the time go by- so many ideas and wonderful people to chat with.
