  1. Does anyone know about "Captain Morgan Beach". This is the location that Claudia showed me pics of for my reception. From the pics, the area looks small inbetween the palm trees. We are anticipating 80-90 guests (62 have already booked), and I'm concerned about space. Any input would be appreciated
  2. Truth be told, I never thought of this before. My dress is ivory, and my FI keeps asking me "what color is your dress?" but I refuse to tell him, I just keep saying "pink!" lol. But I think that even if he goes with a white shirt, the combo looks a-ok to me.
  3. We're using them in a guest book and as a picture in coaster favors
  4. Even though this was posted a few years ago, the review is still very helpful. Definitely bookmarking this page
  5. I agree. I LOVE BDW! I feel like some of the other sites, the girls are just there to criticize and make it seem like their wedding is the best. Everyone`s wedding is special and unique and catered to each couple. I never hesitate to ask a question on this site, cuz I know I will get an honest yet helpful and supportive response. No question is a stupid question on BDW. Thank you for all your support, ideas and inspiration.
  6. This is what I heard too. The wedding ring is suppose to be first on your finger, closest to the heart. And when your husband puts on the ring, essentially it should never come off. Then engagement ring then goes on top to surround the wedding ring with the love that brought the two of you together (almost sealing it on your finger). Sounds pretty deep, but that`s what I was told. haha. I will be wearing my engagement ring on my right hand for the ring ceremony and then at the reception (or even during our champagne toast after the ceremony) I`ll be putting the eng ring on my left hand.
  7. I actually am too, my FI was not impressed I told him I was feeling giddy about swimming with these creatures. He actually said that `that giddy feeling should only be for me`` lol!
  8. That sounds lovely. And I love how it will be just the two of you.
  9. For myself, I knew I always wanted to have a MOH and bridesmaids. I don't have a sister, but I have two very close sorority sisters, one of which is my MOH. I am helping them out with costs by paying for half of their dresses, and I have two family members (both are hair stylist), they will do our hair. I'm keeping things simple by having the girls wear neutral makeup, minimal jewelry, and leather-type thong shoes (the dresses are long, so they wont be seen).
  10. I wanted to budget for 10000 max, but then we started crunching numbers and had to factor in our guest number. We are expecting between 80-90 people (60 people have already booked, and we're still 6.5 months away). So we could even be above the anticipated 90ppl. The more the merrier We bumped up our budget twice, 16000 and now we're at 18000. This includes airfare for me, my FI and my FI's son, the wedding package itself, we extended our reception by one hour, so now it's a 4 hour reception with food, private service, open bar for all 90 guests. Even though the price seems comparable to what a wedding in the city would be, I still prefer spending a whole week on vacation with my family in a warm tropical climate instead of having them be there for only the weekend in the city.
  11. I heard that during that time of year- there are great opportunities to swim with the Whale Sharks http://www.islawhalesharks.com/default.asp
  12. Wear what your heart desires You look gorgeous! I love the veil more than the birdcage
  13. I love the shorter veil. I think the beautiful lace of your dress competes too much with the long laced veil. I like no sash- from the pics, the dress defines your waist beautifully and shows off a gorgeous hour glass figure. The sash almost makes the dress look straight (could be the angle of the pic tho). Without the sash, the dress flows from bust to floor with no interruption. If you want some added sparkle, maybe wear a blingy cuff and drop earrings.
  14. Beautiful! As I was reading through, I thought that you should start making and selling them, and you did, but now I'm sure you have your family started and are out of the country. I think I will round up my BM for a valid attempt at making some flowers. I'm not that crafty, but my girls can be.
  15. What an ordeal! I am sure you will still look sensational especially with the changes you're tailor is fixing. Best wishes
  16. Hi Amy, Congrats and welcome fellow Calgarian Costa rica sounds dreamy. Which travel agents have you checked out already? My FI and I booked with a TA with AMA, but we were also considering uniglobe. We did not like the customer service we received with flight center. Good luck Sabina
