Hello, I have been searching high and low for other trelawny Brides, and it seems like there aren't many, nor are there many threads started for this purpose... Just wondering, are there any others out there? I will be married there January 7th, 2012

oh man, yet again you have outdone yourself with DIY! your so freakin talented!!!

I am having the EXACT same issue, I am a Canadian Bride, and my MOH is in the US..... so theres already a distance issue.. upon asking her she said that I can email her any choices and selections and she will be the best long distance planner EVER... biggest fail ever, she hasnt helped me one bit. I keep "joking" about her craptacular MOH job, and she laughs it off and tells me shes been busy busy busy (which she totally has, she works 60 hour weeks it seems AND goes to school, so I respect shes busy) In the mean while shes going to vegas on her weekends off, and shaking up with her new boy toy, I totally get that she needs a personal life, and I love this girl to death... but seriously, how long does it take to go over an email and give some helpful advice?? Im not asking her to sit on google and perform search after search, AND she doesnt have to plan a bridal shower OR bach party, as she is so far away... so shes already off the hook for that one... she was telling everyone shes coming in NOV for my bachlorette party that SHE was planning, but then cancelled that.... Meanwhile, I have my sister in law who I am super super close with right now, and shes helped me SO much and has told me she will do anything I need her to, so I feel like I made a bad call on this part... oh well, live and learn... HOW do you go about firing your MOH without stepping on some toes or ruining a friendship??? Im in a pickle with you! Let me know what you decide, and I will do the same (I think I may just bite my lip on this one and keep it how it is though)

I definately agree with the other post here! Pick a few that you like and let them choose! My girls were all different shapes and sizes, and I told them they can pick whatever they wanted, I got really lucky and they all agreed on the same dress really early (surprisingly its long!)

I got my first aid kits from dollarama, they were 1.25 each... and I got 37 of them (I have 65 guests so I am doing one per couple, and then one for each single)! They are palm sized and I put a pic up in the canadian OOT bag ideas thread which I believe you are in!!

Thanks, Unfortunately, I live in Canada..... so we dont have a Target, and Dollar Tree doesnt ship to canada.. BUT I did find them at a local dolar store Seeing dollar tree made me think, hmmm maybe I should check out the dollar store!

I am doing a donation favor as well! Since I already got OOT bags AND personalized shot glass wedding favors... I decided that I didnt want to get the wedding party something personalized or something that they would misplace or lose... its also hard to carry alot over seas to your destination as well. I have felt so blessed with my new addition to my family, and being able to finish school and own a house and get married and not really have to worry about money too much (Im not made of it, but I am still able to have a 10,000 dollar budget while fnishing my final year at school and be a new mom to a gorgeous 6 month old boy)... that I really wanted to give back... so I am buying a few goats from world vision as a donation on behalf of my wedding party..... I know its not really traditional, but neither am I. How shold I present them with this??

We used Breezes Trelawny, Its not a 5* by any means, but it is a great family resort, and we have kids coming (ours included). I have had people I know go there and they loved it.... The only reason why I chose it instead of a fancy 5* is because it is clean, but also its friendly and we are able to party there lol! (we have a roudy crowd) We went with Sunwing and the Travel agent was my FI aunt, she is based in Kingston ON (we live in North Bay which is about 5hrs away and dealt with her over the phone and internet...) I could give you her contact info if you would like! Just PM me if you want it. Regardless of the star rating, I think that 950 down from 1500 is a steal lol.

Be careful with your risk taking, as it is your wedding! We booked ours in April (January Wedding)... our TA got us an AMAZING deal of 950 per person for a dbl occupancy. or 1299 for private beach cottages. (includes air fare transfers, etc). Now, we had 65 people book at this price, so I ended up geting 2 free spots, one of the reasons it was so cheap was because prices for that week had JUST been released that day, when we sent our quotes in, they asked us if we would mind waiting while they negotiated with hotel/air... we said sure, and they delivered!! But with that being said, it is now June, and the plane is full! so no one else can book (and a few of my friends said they wanted to wait last min and get a last min deal... well, guess they are out of luck!!) Also, before the plane booked, our prices went back up to 1500, so with that being said... if one or more large groups book (there happens to be another wedding while we are there) then the airlines and resorts will up their prices too!

Ok so heres the deal... I was all set to purchase some luggage tags to send out with my pre-travel brochures, when my FI told me that it was a silly idea. They give you tags at the airport for FREE, and we have already spend close to a grand on their OOT bags and we also did wedding favors.... I think they are a nice gesture, but he does have a point in saying that they are a little pointless as the airport supplies them for you! I see a LOT of people do them, so help me decide!!!

Thats a tough one. I know that my family liked that they could keep the invites for memory purposes, but to be honest... NO one used the RSVP tag. Half of the people didnt RSVP at all (neither by phone or email) Luckily, I got a tax break if I booked before April as an early booking bonus, so it gave everyone a firm deadline! I ended up with 65 people, which suprised me because I only got 20 rsvp's back.

If you wanted to put something on the bags, and not have it so personalized you can just put the location that you are going to so that they have a keepsake! I am going to Jamaica, so on my bags I am putting a palm tree and under that "Trelawny | Jamaica" I am not putting our names or the dates on it, the only thing we put our names on was the shot glasses.

We did the same thing!! I dont think its selfish, If you divided it up between everyone coming, it wouldn't be that great of a discount!! We got 2 free, so we upgraded to the private cottages and are only paying around 700 for the both of us to go now! (the free trips were towards the standard hotel room). I think it works out! I didnt really have anyone that told me they couldnt go because of price though, but then again I am a university student as well, plus we just bought a house and had a baby! too bad for them lol.

I heard that the government is mandating them back to work! does anyone know when this will kick in?

I just checked out Oriental Trading, and I got 50 bags for 30 bucks, 6 sets of keychains (the ones that are coiled and you can wear around your wrist, they also have a whistle on them) the Keychains came in packs of 12, but I needed 65.... I am using them for my room key holder!! they were 3.00 each, and I got some crayons and water toys for the kids bags!! I then googled promo codes for OT and got a code for FREE SHIPPING! (I ended up paying 30 bucks for duties still but I still think its worth it) I got everything for under 100! and thats pretty good, its still less than a dollar per item! The code was good for Canadian shipping (First time I was able to find this) and was HB1240001.
