Hey ladies, i need some SERIOUS help!! I have been planning my DREAM destination wedding for over a year now, I have my dress, resort, flowers, std's, invitations, ATR venue, caterer, band, decorator... you name it! done, complete, just patiently waiting for the best day of my life. I noticed I was late for my period, so sure enough I did an at-home test and it confirmed... IM PREGNANT! the day I found out I was in tears, so many thoughts were going through my mind, can I still go to Jamaica? Can I wear my wedding dress? I cant celebrate and party with all my friends (Selfish I know) I've always wanted children so there is no way i would even consider an abortion... such a bittersweet time, I cant even explain the emotions going through my mind... happiness and sadness. Its been four days since I found out the news, things are better now... I'm getting excited to have a baby, I will be around 6 months when I get married. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on what they would do in this situation? My wedding is booked for may 23-30, 2011. My at home reception is June 25 (ill be 7 months then) Should I move my ATR until after the birth of the baby? I have confirmed that I will be able to fly up to 36 weeks as long as im healthy. I have over 30 people booked and my agent wont refund or change our deposits :S or should I keep the dates and events the same and just enjoy it with my bun in the oven? So, Hit me up with some advice on what you DW bride to be's would do in this situation... its much needed on my end I guess in the end it makes me giggle that our little baby just couldnt wait and wanted to share our special day somehow !

ROR - Booking wedding and rooms
Tessab123 replied to hutchets's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Hello fellow brides! I am getting married on may 25, 2011. We will be at the ROR the week of May 23-20... I have been quoted and sealed the deal on the price of $1350 + $189.16 (tax) = $ 1539.16 departing from Toronto. This includes 1:11 free, price drop protection, $500 voucher for furture travel and $500 voucher for gift items. I thought this was an amazing deal so i jumped on it, my travel agents contact info is : Shelley MacMillan Vacation Travel Specialist LatitudesPlus Smart Travel [email protected] (705) 876-9570 - phone (705) 876-9074 - fax She has done an AMAZING job finding me the best price. I had been in contact with 4 other TA's who all quoted me higher than her AND three of them never even got back to me... you would think when your going to make commission off a group worth $80000 + you'd be on the ball! But I highly suggest contacting Shelley if your still undecided about booking and where.... she will find you a good deal! -
Awesome pics and thanks for the detailed review!! im also an ROR bride getting married in may 2011

Yeah it seems more simple, rather than sending out multiple invites and wasting money on stamps and what not

I am currently working on favours for ATR and OOT bags right now. formal invitations are next on my list My wedding is booked for may 25, 2011 and I stared planning about a year in advance... Im trying to break things up and pay for everything in cash that way im not overloaded with a whack of debt come time of my wedding, good luck planning... im quite proud of myself and its a good feeling

Do you Send AHR info with the STD?
Tessab123 replied to gersbja's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We had the same issue, I ended up sending out save the dates with information about the trip, time and place and at the end said 'at home reception june 25 2011, formal invitation to follow. for more information please visit www.ourweddingwebsite.com -
We are doing an ATR, simply because we love to celebrate and who doesnt like to party? We have invited 100 people to both events, those that can attend our DW GREAT! those that cant no worries because we will celebrate when we get home A lot of my family, grandparents and great friends are unable to attend. our ahr is going to have sit down tables, with interactive food stations, open bar and a band to party the night away. At the beginning of our reception we will show a video of us saying our vows and then be introduced! a lot of the people i invited asked if i was doing an ahr and were pleased when they found out we were.... I guess its up to you and your FI,for us it is perfect and were so excited about both our trip AND AHR

I would as well change it ONE last time but that is it!!! no more, it is your wedding and there will be more people after his older brother that will say they cant make it for whatever reason, so stop right there. as well maybe you should find out what his reason is? -

Bridal Shower Etiquette
Tessab123 replied to Lindslou's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Seems, showers are different for all. I have been to italian showers and wow do they ever put on a show, seems both families are invited AND tons of friends. I have also been to showers where it is simple strictly brides family and close friends. not sure what to say, but if you feel she stepped over the line maybe you should explain your bridal shower theory to her and she may understand why you never invited them
