My friend who just got married had the same situation happen with her mom. We just gave her so much love and attention. Her mom is very unhappy in general and let her weight be a factor for not being involved in anyone's life. On the wedding day I could see in her mom's eyes that she was disappointed she wasn't as involved as she should have been. Moral of the story: She is an adult and she will choose to be involved or not to be. Unfortunately all you can do is tell her how hurt you are by her actions and then move on. Surround yourself with people who care for you and will support you. We are here for you girlie!!! I'm so sorry you have to go through this!

I'm so sorry you have to go through that. My aunt is the same way as your fmil- she will renovate her house but wont get her husband and daughter health insurance- then complains they have no money. It's so frustrating but she is an adult and has to make these decisions for herself. I'm praying for you today in hopes that you and your fi enjoy this beautiful holiday knowing you will be married soon!!! Just focus on having a great time today and let the stress of the holiday make everyone else crazy. We are here for you girlie!

That is completely normal according to all of my conversations with brides. I really enjoy hearing about everything so I've never found it rude. I just get excited for them and their excitement. Just remember to give her a call and catch up on what she is up to every once in a while. She will appreciate the inquisition.

I want to say this!!! My bf and I have a fun and sassy relationship. I think it would be appropriate. Even an answer of 'Maybe...let me wear the ring for a while and I'll think about it' I'm sure I'll be too excited and will forget all of these preplanned responses!

I was asked to be a late BM and joyfully accepted...NEVER AGAIN! There was resentment from the other BM. I would roll with 2 BM and let the non-MOH have two cute guys! she will love the attention... make it fun!
