  1. Welcome and happy planning. This site is full of unique ideas and information.
  2. Combining the ideas of a few brides I think I am going to do this: Send Save the Dates (luggage tags)directing everyone to my website with Unofficial pricing, accommodations, etc with a Pre-RSVP (post card) so I can plan OOTs, dinner, tables, centerpieces, extra- we are having the reception down there with no AHR. 1 year out. Then send a Newletter Titled Our Names Wedding- YOU'RE INVITED! so there isn't confusion...this is your invite. With finalize pricing, down payments due dates, extra...(all this information will come from my website. But what it seems is people either don't go on the website or don't get serious until they get a paper invite. I will send this out pretty early too prob 9 months so that guests can space out payments on the trip and we again can finalize details. I hope this works!
  3. Think wholesale: save-on-crafts.com is a great place to find items for centerpieces, lighting and more. Forget the fluff: You can have a beautiful wedding without a lot of fluff. Wedding planners will tell you you need to do this or that. Not true. Make a list of what is important to you. Then compare to the checklists you find online. Look at the leftover items...do you need them or want them. Example: I think programs for a small wedding are silly if we all have the same backgrounds and traditions. Plus most people throw them away. I will not have programs. I don't care for garters- they feel weird and I won't be tossing it. I won't be buying one. Once you sit back and really think of your wants and needs it is easy to eliminate some fluff. Just think you have a stunning setting that guests will already remember.
  4. Hey Ladies, I have a gently used 7 dsic p90x workout set. This does not include the meal plan and I will need to track down my schedule. This really works and you def feel great once you get through it because it's work. If you are willing to put in the work to trim down or tone up this is for you. Price: $75 (plus shipping).
  5. If there is anyone out there looking for a P90X set. I have one I am willing to selling. Gently Used...does not have the meal plan. I will have to find my schedule too. PM if you are interested with BO.
  6. SnoopAsh- Congrats! You are prob on your way to your location right now. I hope when you get back you post some of your Amber collection photos. Have fun

  13. I have a few stressors but I am only in the early stages of planning so I am sure it will ease once I am more into it. First, travel/budget for guests (getting the best deal for them and making it an easy process) Second, what will make my day perfect i.e. what extras do I really need. I am pretty laid back but then I see all these wonderful add ons that I through in the mix. I fight with myself on do I really want to do them or not.
  14. They have ivory pearls that would be a possible match at David's Bridal. If you want the real deal bring your necklace into a jewelry store. I am sure they have ivory pearls as well.
  15. I am torn as well. I am looking into Moon Palace Resorts in Mexico (leaning towards) and Secrets in Jamaica. Moon Palace does offer a free dinner if you have 20 rooms books or a free cocktail hour with 10 rooms booked. I would love to have many guests so I think I can qualify for the free private events (many) for 25 rooms. This will help with cost because I won't have to worry about paying $75 per extra person and I can invite who I want. Jamaica Secrets is soo my style. I love it! There are a few hiccups I see in reviews but I am sure it will be okay by March 2011.
  16. I am doing ribbon wands. I think they look great in photos and are cheap and lightweight to travel with.
  17. I was thinking about using the ribbon wands too. I think they make lovely photos, people will have fun with them after waving them around, and they don't cost too much. Buy online or make them yourself.
  18. I NEVER keep my program, not even for a traditional wedding. I wouldn't waste my time or money on them. Think of how many you see laying around on reception tables. And I am sure most ppl throw them out at home if they weren't rude enough to leave them behind earlier. I am a really laid back person so I don't keep or want to do any of that stuff.
  19. Hey everyone, I am so lost on what should come first or when. I really did not want to do Save the dates per say. I wanted to do a large passport invite with all the information ppl will need to know very soon about 1 year ahead of time. But I am not sure should I talk to the TA before sending information to guests? I will be inviting roughly 50-60 ppl but really have no idea how many will come it could be everyone or 10 ppl. So I didn't want to talk to the TA yet because I wasn't sure what number of rooms to tell her we needed. Then I thought well what if I have to change my dates because the original date is booked or over budget. Then I wondered how should I have my guests RSVP...purely by booking with the TA? I am so lost. I do know my family and many guests will have a budget and planning ahead is a must but from what I hear you can't book flights more than 9 months ahead of time and I want to book as a package deal for the cheapest deal possible. Should I send my "invites/stds" 1 year ahead and state booking and down payments will be 9 months ahead when we get final costs or should I talk to a travel agent first? WHAT DID YOU GUYS DO...MAYBE THAT IS THE BEST THING TO ASK. THANKS Friends
