  1. Thanks for sharing Jess!! You did a great job on everything, your wedding is going to be fantastic. Your dress is beautiful and you put so much thought, care and hard work into everything I can't wait to see pics when you get back!!! Hope your day is all you dreamed of and more fellow November bride!!!
  2. I leave on Wednesday and we have everything packed into our luggage. We are each allowed 4 checked bags (2 are packed with OOT bags stuff). Hope that helps.
  3. Congrats and welcome Tiffany, this site is absolutely phenomenal. Don't know what I would have done without it. Good luck and happy planning!
  4. Happy legal day to all the November ladies tying the knot legally. (I know that sounds weird but you know what I mean....lol)
  5. Very beautiful Nicole! And your TTD pics with Ileana came out awesome, very playful and fun!
  6. Congratulations and welcome to the forum. You're going to love all the info you find here. Good luck and happy planning!
  7. I always love reading your blogs and seeing these absolutely beautifully painted maracas. What inspiration! Thanks for sharing!
  8. So relieved to hear that you guys are ok. I imagine the structures in T&C are much like the structures in Trinidad where I am from (concrete) but I know how too much rain in low lying areas can cause a mess....not sure if you guys get mud slides there, we get a ton in Trinidad. But I am very happy to hear you and your girls and Andy are safe and sound. I hope that goes for everyone else as well. I'm guessing that by Sunday it will be well past and probably bringing us bands of showers here in Miami. Have a safe trip to VA Krys!
  9. From what I can see it would match perfectly. I love the little rhinestone on the front and how it plays up what looks to be rhinestones on the dress as well. Nice choice!
  10. I was also going to suggest that you perhaps look into using one of the travel agents on this website. They have worked with a range of hotels and I am sure will be able to assist you and answer questions you may have. As for the resorts sometimes because of how swamped they are it may take a while to hear back from them.Try sending a second request email just to be sure. Good luck!
  11. Thanks for sharing your review. We have been considering Secrets Wild Orchid for a vacation next year so I really wanted to see what you thought about it. I'm sure your review will help many future brides.
  12. I have to agree with Tiffanya21! It really depends on how you feel about having your parents and this uncle at the wedding. If you really want them there just keep the peace and invite the person. You don't have to be around that person all night or even pay them attention, let your parents take on the responsibility of keeping that person entertained since they wanted them there in the first place. I hope it all turns out well and good luck! P.S. Have you tried leveling with you parents and just asking what is the reason they find it mandatory for this person to attend? Its their only daughter's wedding they should be trying to make you happy not themselves or this person.
  13. There will always be hidden costs. Even in planning a wedding at home you will find hidden costs. I think it is just the business in general. I am helping one of my friends plan her wedding locally and she has been having the same problems, the venue says linens and standard furniture for the banquet room are complimentary. The linens are hideous and stained and the chairs are these metal chairs like if you're in school!!! Basically you have to rent the decent stuff for a hefty fee! I have been going with her on her sites and when we meet with the people you can literally see the dollar signs in their eyes when we mention wedding. Its sad!
  14. I have been struggling with this and I leave in 6 days!!! I would like a veil for pics but that is really it. I don't want to walk down the aisle with one and I don't feel like wasting money on a veil just for pics....those suckers are expensive!!
  15. Oh wow! Those look completely different! I remember seeing those invites when I was shopping around for mine....man they turned out fantastic, love how jazzed up they look. Great job!
  16. Thanks for keeping us posted Krys! Misti you now me...I'm a habitual worrier! LOL! I am now worried that Krys and they will be ok, found out Diane is off the island till Friday (hope someone is around to secure her house). I hope the kids don't have school, can you imagine picking them up later on today and it is pouring?!?! Keep us posted Krys, and stay safe, you guys are in my prayers as well as the rest of islands in the area. What happened to hurricane season ending in October? Geeeez!
  17. Hi Krys, thanks for the update and Misti thanks for that posting. We have had downpours all day. Areas like South Beach are flooded and the rains are expected to continue. It was raining so hard in front of me that I couldn't even see the car in front of me while driving home today. Krys you are so right, Haiti does not need this. Tonight on the news they showed all these people living in make shift tents and huts and I was in tears. I really am praying that it doesn't cause any tragedies. My friend from St. Lucia has been chronicalling (sp) the damage on her blog that it caused there.....so sad.
