  1. Oh that sounds fun!! Is it going to just be the two of you??
  2. Soon I will be doing a planning thread. My wedding is only 7 weeks away and it's coming up so fast!! I can't wait to share all of my fun plans. What I really can't wait for is the day I get my professional photos!!! I am keeping things pretty simple. My whole ceremony and reception are going to be white everything with a splash of color. My dress has a sash on it that is watermelon and Mike's (and the GM's) vest and tie are the tiffany blue. He is wearing a white jacket and the guys have black jackets. Our flowers will be bright tropical colors. I'm thinking gerber daisies, lillies and roses. All pinks and oranges. My BM's have black dresses with a watermelon sash to match mine so I may do black chair ties just to tie that in. The centerpieces will be colorful tropical flowers but I am tying the tiffany blue ribbon around the vases to tie that in somehow. I am doing flowers on my cake too that are pink and orange and then tying blue ribbon around the layers of the cake. I still have tons of DIY projects that I need to get done, like welcome brochures and our menu....I will have to find a cute way to incorporate the colors there. I got white OOT bags and I am stuffing them with pink and blue tissue paper.... haha so there's just some of what I am doing but when I get closer I will share pictures!!

  4. I love the one that is done in power point... This has given me many great ideas. Now to decide how to lay mine out!!
  5. By the way....my colors are tiffany blue and watermelon. I am doing tangerine accent also but only in the flowers. We're color twins
  6. Welcome to the forum

  8. I would just do the cake cutting and do a small bite for pics and stuff and then actually serve the cake at the reception. That makes more sense to me.

Dont know what I would do without this website!

  12. Great! Thank you for the heads up. Looks like I'll be editing and spliting everything I can

Great Brands. I believe. We took them somewhere in town to have them embroidered.

    Hello!

Congrats and welcome! You will find everything you need to know here
  16. Thanks for all the advice here. I originally thought to ship all of my OOT stuff but after reading some scary stories from other brides of their stuff not making it so now I plan to carry on. I want to understand...what's the deal with the $300 limit? Everyone is saying keep things around or under $300...is there a specific reason for that? Or just to avoid paying a duty tax on things?? What if some of my receipts have amounts higher than $300? (I ordered lots of things all at once and had a couple of large orders...)

I'm so worried about this custom issue because I have $400 worth of beach towels, a $300 aisle runner, and a ton of other stuff I'm bringing down such as shot glasses, flip flops, tote bags, etc... I have receipts but since I'm splitting everything up between my FI, my mom and my luggage I don't know if should just make up fake receipts? Obviously wouldn't make sense for each of us to carry receipts for the full value if we're splitting up the stuff... anyone know? I have read in other places that girls made "fake receipts". You could just make something that looks like an emailed receipt. I ordered a lot of stuff offline so some of mine are just a printed piece of paper from my email. (easy to duplicate)
  18. I went around and gathered up all of my receipts! I am impressed (patting myself on the back, lol) with how many I still have. Usually I throw those things out immediately.
  19. This is a great idea! My dad, fiance, and all of our groomsmen love cigars. I thought about having a cigar roller there, but this is a great way to personalize them and save on the cigar roller. We can just set them out or whatever. Thanks for sharing!!
  20. Mike knows what dress I am getting (he's seen it in the magazine I carried around for MONTHS before deciding, haha) but he hasn't gotten to see it in person or on me. So I think thats what matters.
  21. I don't dislike it either way, but I think it looks more elegant with both layers.
