  1. Great idea! Our hotel is going to put a bottle of tequila in each room, so I think we will put shot glasses & margarita mix...
  2. This was really helpful! I feel like we are making a good decision for our group to be at Blue Parrot. We have a smaller group, staying next to Blue Parrot at Playa Palms. We are going to do a heavy hors d'oeuvres reception in the VIP lounge with a mariachi. We just returned from our site visit. The tasting and service was amazing. We were worried about the noise so we went back later that night. Yes, it does turn into a club and its noisy. But the DJ was playing good music, people were dancing and the fire show was good too. I think our group will really enjoy it. Plus, we wont have to hire a DJ or other entertainment.
  3. I was just in PDC a couple days ago. We had a blast at Blue Parrot! The DJ, drinks, and fire show were great. We are going to do our reception in the VIP lounge area in November.
  4. I would just end the night at Blue Parrot. I just did my site visit and the nightly show at 11pm was great!
  5. Danielle has been amazing to work with! We are using her for our cymbidium real touch flowers too! Great prices, quick to reply, and beautiful work!
  6. Shae- Everything looks amazing!!! I love love love the color scheme and all of your designs. You should definitely start a side job.
  7. I am going for a site visit on Sunday. Paloma is meeting with us to see Xcaret for the ceremony and Blue Parrot for the reception. We are going to have a room block at Playa Palms and possibly Blue Parrot. Patricia has been so amazing to work with. I'm glad I found this post and can also refer her to other BDW brides!!!
  8. I have been working with jdleggans on etsy.com since my last post. She has been so quick to respond and friendly. Her prices are great too!
  9. Luciel, How funny! I found jdleggans the day of my post from some other BDW brides too. I have already been working with her. I agree, she is great and her prices are wonderful. I had contacted some of the other companies girls had recommended, but most are already booked or won't due custom orders. Can't wait to see them!
  10. I already mentioned one etsy find, passport covers. Now I am working with jdleggans on our real touch flowers. She has been so great to work with already and her prices are reasonable. Check her out and told her you found out about her on bestdestinationwedding.com.
  11. Great idea. I am also willing to share as well. Looking for a set of 5 bouquets and 5 bouts, preferrably cymbidium orchids with a blue/turquoise ribbon.

NEW BOUQUET (also from Plumerias Wedding Flower Boutique) The ribbon arouind the Handle will be Ivory, and I'm not going to use the butterfly: And since I've decided NOT to have bridesmaids, both of the Mothers will be carrying this bouquet (also with Ivory ribbon around the handle instead of the blue pictured here): And last but not least, my FI as well as both fathers will be wearing this awesome bout, again, with Ivory ribbon instead of pink: I couldn't be more thrilled, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND working with Roberta of Plumerias Wedding Flower Boutique! She incredibly talented, quick to respond to questions/emails, and her prices are 100% reasonable! If you don't mind sharing, how much was your bouquet and everything else? It looks beautiful!!!
  13. This is a great thread, i'm worried what they will look like too. I will definitely order a sample first. I want to do cymbidiums.
  14. They turned out great! Can other people tell if they are real or not?
  15. Yes, I saw that episode of Platinum Weddings! It was one of the guys from Black Eyed Peas!
  16. This is a great idea. I think we are going to order Mini Passport STDs and add a magnet on the back so people can put it on the fridge if they want. Here are the mini passports we are looking at: Passport Invitations by Ana de Roux {Custom Invitations, Stationery & Design}. Ana de Roux has a great blog too. I found her through this website. I sent in an inquiry and I'm still waiting to hear back, but we are super excited about them. The mini passports are only around $1.50 each too.
  17. Great idea! I didn't think to include the AHR date on the STD too. It's def. on the backburner in my mind. I just want to focus on the Mexico wedding and have someone else plan the AHR so we can just show up. haha.
  18. It looks amazing! I added them on facebook and there are photos of baby sea turtles. Does anyone know if you could arrange a sea turtle release for a group? I think it would be a fun activity?
  19. Thank you so much for posting this information. The pics and videos were very helpful! I have been emailing Xcaret and also working through Patricia (Weddings in Cancun). We are doing a site visit in 2 weeks. We would LOVE to do the ceremony and reception at Xcaret, but we can't afford both. We are thinking about a ceremony in the chapel, then doing the reception on the beach or at Blue Parrot.
