  1. Check out: Coffee Mugs, Shot Glasses, Wine Glasses, Beer Mugs, Promotional Products, Tote Bags, Champagne Glasses, Wedding Favors , Sports Bottles, T-shirts, Promotional Pens & personalized Glassware. They have sales once in a while and I think their prices are pretty reasonable! We really like the stadium cups because little kids can use them too!! Good Luck! ~ Erica

  3. This dress seems reasonable for $79/each!! Check it out! Ball Gown Strapless Short/Mini Taffeta Tulle Bridesmaid/Wedding Party/Cocktail/Prom Dress (FSD0213) - US$ 79.99 Good Luck! ~ Erica
  4. Wow... after reading this it was like deja vu all over again! We went through the same thing. My FI's family was the most cooperative. They just hung back after our engagement and waited for us to tell them when and where. The day after our engagement, I had 6 emails from my family and many phone calls asking details and what "church" in my hometown would we be getting married in? That's when you would have thought someone had died! They didn't understand why we wanted a DW and Mexico? The swine flu is down there and there are bad people down there and it's unsafe. Blah blah blah! We heard it all. BUT, I'll never forget the words my dad told me "Erica, I will walk you down any aisle in any part of the world!" I love my dad! He is 200% supportive!!!! We didn't plan on having an AHR when we got back either but after hearing all of our family complaining because they couldn't go, we decided to have one. So we will play our wedding video and I will wear my dress. That should make "them" happy. Brides, please remember this is "YOUR DAY" so make it special and do things "YOUR WAY" and everything will perfect in "YOUR LIFE"!!!! *HUGS* and Good Luck! ~ Erica
  5. We are also doing the tip/keycard holders but early on in our wedding planning I ordered these: Beach Ball Invitation In Containers They serve TWO purposes! 1. They come with a beach ball in there that you can personalize. I will write our wedding date, time, location on the spaces provided and it can serve as a toy, reminder or keepsake. 2. The container they come in can be used for money, medication or possibly you could slip some cigarettes/lighter in there! (we have some guests that smoke) I forgot I ordered these till just today. The beach balls are pretty small but I think they are perfect and won't take up too much room!!! Good Luck girlz!!! ~ Erica
  6. Hi, my name is Erica and I'm addicted to Vistaprint!!! LOL It's true, I've done business cards, address labels and totes with our monogram on them! I'm not sure I'll ever be able to stop ordering from them. I think my FI will take my cc before it's too late... ha-ha!!! ~ Erica
  7. I am definitely wearing my wedding dress for about 4 hours and I see the majority of the brides on this thread are wearing their dresses too! That's excellent! I feel we owe it to our guests that were unable to travel to our DW in Mexico. We will also be playing our wedding video at our AHR! I think my hair will be close to the same style as it was in Mexico. I will have a real ivory orchid in my hair in Mexico but I bought a nice silk lily to put in my hair for our AHR. My FI will be wearing his linen suit at the AHR too. I still haven't found a dress to change into later but I'm on the lookout! Good Luck to all of you! ~ Erica

HTH Yes! We are doing the same thing with a different twist. We have been collecting postcards from different places we have traveled (Bahama's, Mexico, Cayman Islands, Florida, China, Thailand, Korea, etc.) and we will have our guests fill out these postcards at our wedding reception in Mexico and our AHR in Michigan. Then we will bind them into a book for a neat keepsake. I can't wait!!! ~ Erica

  10. Ah... okay I get it! Well, being from Michigan, I"ve never seen one of these cakes at any weddings I've attended. So, no wonder why! :-) I think we'll just skip it because my FI had no idea what this was either! Thanks for clarifying! ~ Erica
  11. Okay... can someone explain to me what the significance/reasoning for a groom's cake? I'm completely clueless... sorry. I don't want to miss out on something I should be doing! Thanks in advance for clarifying! ~ Erica
  12. Great job! I also had my dress made in China. It was $350 in the states and only $70 in China! I say doing a knock off is the way to go! Why not?!?!? For such a little price you get exactly what you want. I will post some pics of mine when I try it on again. I also had a corset back but when I tried it in at the tailors, it didn't "pull" me in like I wanted because the woman that made it was being gentle and barely had it tight. I will have my friend do it up the right way and take lots of pictures! Next week I'm going to see if I can have my veil made in China too! I'm so lucky to live here and get all the benefits of having custom made stuff! Good Luck with the rest of your planning!
  13. #2 is AWESOME! Love the colors and everything ties in really well. Look at you! You are a DIY girl! Great job!

  15. Yes, I think it would be a good idea to remove the "Made in China" sticker just to be safe! I think the main thing the customs dept. in Mexico is worried about is if they think you will resell all of your items. So just make sure to explain to them you are getting married and these are your gifts for your guests. Good Luck! ~ Erica

The good thing my WC found eveything I wanted locally or in Mexico city and it was actually cheaper Yeah, but I was told as long as you have receipts then you are okay. Just pack it in your carry on luggage. Think about it, mostly EVERYTHING is MADE IN CHINA... ha-ha! I live in China and I have barely bought anything in the U.S. hee-hee Good Luck girls! ~ Erica

To tell you the truth, I've only heard bad things about shipping to Mexico unfortunately! I'm not taking the chance! I would be sick to my stomach if I shipped things down there and something like this happened! I think it is worth "checking" another suitcase and possibly cheaper. Check with your airlines to see what it would cost to bring an extra suitcase. It might save you trouble and will be stress free! Thanks for sharing your story, it really helps us brides know the "what if's" and how we can learn from this. Good Luck with the rest of your planning!
  18. I'm freaking out a little too! Our invites won't probably go out until November timeframe. We already know who is coming to Mexico so we are just sending them out to follow etiquette. We get married on Feb. 10th in Mexico and our AHR is Feb. 19th at home. That's not much time to get prepared so hopefully we are organized and get everything done in time!
  19. I think you should sink the candle holder deeper into the sand. I think it would balance it out a little more. Plus adding a starfish would be a nice touch! Check out this website. I think you could have them in 2-3 days!! White Finger Starfish Good Luck! ~ Erica
  20. I discussed this with my FI and he wants to stay together and I want to stay apart. I think it will be more exciting when I see him at the ceremony. Plus, my sister is my MOH so I will ask her to stay with me and he will have her room since she is single. It all works out. But, I will check with the resort to see if they offer a "Groom Room" for the night before for free, if they do then I can kick him into that room for the night. ;-) Hee Hee!! But, yes I agree with the other girls, go with your heart on how you feel. Neither way is wrong or right!

  22. Great info!!! I currently live in China and wondered the same thing! I'm glad I don't have to change it right away! Phewwww! I definitely don't want to be deported. LOL Thanks for the info! ~ Erica
  23. Hey Girlz, I was on ebay checking out imprinted items and found this company that specializes in plastic products... mugs, cups, sippy cups, sand buckets, shovels, etc.... I think it would be so cute to have these shovels imprinted with our names/date and somehow tie them on our OOT bags. What do you think? 100 WEDDING FAVORS, WEDDING DECORATIONS, SAND SHOVELS - eBay (item 200367248443 end time Oct-24-09 18:24:41 PDT) ~ Erica
  24. I decided I'm not going to ask my resort to deliver them to their rooms just in case they upgrade and the rooms get switched around. But, I did ask if they could be left at the front desk and when they check in, they will get them. They said no problem! Check that option out. Maybe it's the fact they have specific rooms to go to that makes it more expensive! Good Luck!
