I found this lovely seamstress that has a shop on the side of her house and I swear she works 24/7. I met her at a fabric store where she works part time for the deals she gets on fabric. Being an employee she get 50% off. My fabric was $38 dollars, and the material and labour together she is charging me $250.00 for my dress. I have to admitt last night driving to her house which is a hour out in the country with no street lights, i was shaking my head and feeling a little sick. When I got there my dress was on a bust in the window of her shop and I could see it when I pulled in her driveway, it was a sigh of relief. My gfriend came with me and she was admiring fabric in her shop and now she is having a custom dress made for my wedding. It was a celebration glass of wine last night.lol I was really freaked out about my dress as many brides talked about the flowy fabric making them look huge and pregnant. I had not tried on a flowy dress I had just took a picture and had it made. I am sure Erica your glad you went with this style, it just feels beachy. Anyway ladies i have to head off to work... i have a smile on my face and a skip in my step... Oh forgot to mention headache from the wine. lol Oh... I'm so happy for you! How cool your dress was waiting in the window for you! I got a laugh out of that! I'm glad you brought a friend along for company! Wine is a must when doing wedding planning... I know that for a FACT!!! LOL I have to admit I did try on a few dresses that had flowy fabric and they did make me look larger than what I am. I think by having the slit up the front or side really makes a big difference and elongates the body. I had 4 dresses picked out, 2 gathered at the side, one had a slip up the middle and the 4th had a jeweled belt around the mid section. I chose the side one because I let the "mom's" rate them as I tried them on. I think they enjoyed sitting there watching me try on dresses as they relaxed in their comfy chairs... grrrrr! But, that was okay because I had my sister there who is my MOH and she helped me in the dressing room! Have a good day at work SusieQ! ~ Erica

We are only 4 days apart. Yayy!!! We leave on your wedding day! How cool to get married on V-day!!! So exciting! 4. OMG!!!!! You are going to look absolutely stunning in this dress! I LOVE the detail with the jewels around the waist! You look ecstatic in the picture! Isn't it great to see the progress of your dress? How long will it take to be finally done? I bet you can't wait to bring it home!?! What shoes will you wear? My dress is similar with it being split but in the side and I love how the Chiffon flows in your dress! Good job girl!!! Good night. It's only 11:15am here so while you are sleeping I'll be working! Booo.... boring! Here is my dress (but picture it in ivory and a size 16 not size 2 like on the model) lol I will have better pictures when I try it on again! ~ Erica
  5. Okay, I found one... they have a min. of 50 and they ship to Canada! Promotional Tranter Graphics: 500 Line - Smooth stadium cup, 16 ounces. I'll keep looking, I like the challenge! ~ Erica

That sound is like a baby listening to a vacuum, just sends me back to sleep. Awww... SusieQ! That's too cute! I love sleeping next to my FI too, but he is still getting booted the night before. My MOH (my only sister) will stay in my room that night. The girls will go for breakfast in the morning, we will hit the pool for an hour or so, have lunch, get our hair/makeup done, get dressed and head to our 3pm ceremony. I know that is a long time to be away from eachother, BUT I think it will be well worth it when I see him for the first time. Oh, and I'm also thinking about celibacy for a month before our wedding. Shhhh... I haven't told him yet though. Hee-hee! I say, do what you feel. There is no right/wrong answer to this question. Good Luck girls! ~ Erica

Wow... England is a place I've always wanted to visit. Someday we will! My FI promised me a trip to Europe after we are married. Yayy! *shellk* We moved to Shanghai, China in Oct. 2008 for work. We both work for the same automotive company (I'm a training AA and my FI is the Director of Program Mgmt) and they started a plant here and asked us to live here for 2 years. The time has went really fast! We might stay a little longer! I absolutely love the shopping, nightlife and scenery. Shanghai is a town of 23 million people! Can you imagine? The only downside is the smog! Somedays it is terrible but we do have about 10 days in a month with blue skies! I've had my wedding dress, veil, bridesmaid dress, and most of my OOT bags stuff made/bought here! It's hard to plan a wedding from China but we are managing. Thanks to great family back in Michigan! If any of you are traveling to Asia, stop on by! LOL Time to head to work, talk to you girls later! ~ Erica
  8. Okay... Hopefully when I wake up, there will be pics to see! Yayy!!!! Good Night girls (all the way from China)!!! ~ Erica
  9. 1. We sent STD emails to EVERYONE - so our guests could know our date/resort and could get in contact with our travel agent for quotes. 2. Then we sent out STD magnets to EVERYONE (including those that don't have email addresses). 3. We are in the process of sending out our Passport invites/AHR RSVP cards to EVERYONE. Then we will include our wedding brochure in the invites of the people that are traveling to Mexico with us (about 20 couples). That should cover all bases! Good Luck! ~ Erica

Send us pictures when you get it taken in! Good Luck! ~ Erica
  11. So, I loved the idea of another bride making these door hangers to put on our guests doors since our rooms will be upstairs/downstairs and all over the place! That way we know what rooms our guests will be in. Oh, we also decided not to put our guests names on them for security purposes. Our door hanger just simply says "To have and to hold". I think they turned out pretty well. I purchased the door hangers, stickers & metal brads from OTC. They were very reasonable too! They were fun to put together and we will include them in our OOT bags. I still need help with more phrases... if you have any fun ones please let me know. ~ Erica
  12. Our colors are lime and fuschia... Here are some inspiration pictures!! ~ Erica Fuschia Lime inspiration.doc

No secrets here girl! Us February brides need to stick together to get through our planning and emotions! I ♥ you girls! How'd the dress fitting go SusieQ Details.. give em up!!! I'm dying to know!!!! ~ Erica
  14. Nice job bholthof! I think the corset is incredible! It just gives the dress a little sexyness! I had my dress made in China. I need to try it on again and get some good pictures of it so I can post them and you can see the one I tried on in the U.S. compared to the one I had made here in China. They are very similiar! I need to have my friend lace up my corset tighter though because the tailor that made my dress didn't want to lace it up too tight, not to mention she was 4 feet tall and weighed like 70 lbs. lol I think having a dress custom made is the way to go! You save lots of money and you can take away or add things to your dress! In the U.S. I would have paid $350 and I had it made in China for $70!!! What a deal! Good Luck! ~ Erica
  15. Hello Vdaybride! Welcome to the BDW forum! You are plugging right along... The only thing I would worry about is your FMIL not having her passport. What is she waiting for? LOL Good Luck with the rest of your planning! ~ Erica
  16. Hello! I started doing a workout routine in Wii Fit & Wii Active and I wondered if any other brides do these programs? If so, what programs are you doing? I love the way I feel afterwards, I'm trying to do them twice a day! Wii Active in the morning and Wii Fit at night! Let me know! ~ Erica
  17. I started taking pre-natal vitamins in July of this year. I was told by my doctor they have a great balance of vitamins and folic acid. Folic acid is a must if you plan to conceive within a year or so. I don't have a problem taking them in the morning but I know some women have nausea issues but the best thing to do is take them at night before bedtime and then you won't have to worry about feeling sick! Not to mention they are pretty cheap compared to the "name brand" vitamins. Also, some stores offer them for free if you have a doctors prescription! They give me great energy and my hair/nails are growing super fast! Good Luck girls! ~ Erica
  18. Okay, I found this catamaran that does sunset cruises very reasonable! $700 for 21-30 people! Unfortunately it won't work for us since they leave at 3:30 and we don't get married until 3:00... but maybe it would work for someone else. Reserve Your Mayan Riviera Tour Online with Paradise Catamarans Good Luck! ~ Erica
  19. We have yet to buy our wedding bands! Yikes! You girls are making me worry that we are really behind! But, we'll be back in Michigan for Christmas, maybe there will be lots of good sales going on! LOL I love the engraved idea but like you girls, I don't want to give up my ring for a week! I did already have a loose stone and had to give it up for 1 day so they could tighten the prong and I was back at the jewelry store at 9:01am that next morning when they first opened. I couldn't wait any longer! Ha-ha!!! I can't wait to see your dress SusieQ!!! ~ Erica
  20. Hello! I received my maraca tags and I just LOVE them!!! Not sure if you ran into this problem too but the mini maraca's keychains I bought from OTC barely make any noise so I thought about just tieing two of them onto the cards so our guests can just click them together! What did you do? Thanks again! ~ Erica
  21. Great question! I might be interested in this too! I'll do some searching around as well. ~ Erica
  22. Hey Girlz!!! I just got my foam door hangers from OTC and I need help with more sayings!!! ** HELP ** Thx! ~ Erica
  23. Okay... one more. WHOLESALE 100-32 OZ PLASTIC DRINKING TUMBLERS-GLASSES - eBay (item 190248730282 end time Oct-26-09 09:44:03 PDT) I found this ebay seller after we bought our cups. They have many options. I love the sand shovels, and thought that would have been a great idea to have imprinted and hang them on the side of our OOT bag. But, I think we are done spending money. LOL ~ Erica
  24. Wait... wrong website! Try this one: Drinkware from 4imprint Sorry. ~ Erica
