The price sucks but in the end, I want the least to worry about that day. I am having my makeup done too. Okay... she seems really excited to do it but my BM's and mom's will get their hair done too so I think I will just tell her that we are all going to use the salon at my resort. She does want to do a trial run but I just don't want to put her under so much pressure since she will have her little daughter with her and I might be bridezilla. Ha-ha! So, this is what I'll do, I'll have her do the trial run. If everything comes out okay, I will still book through the salon and if for some reason something happens and the salon can't do my hair then I have her for a back up. Is that fair or do you think I'll hurt her feelings? ~ Erica

Was thinking about just sending people to the P.C.O.B whilst getting our pics done. Then looking to have the buffet there. I was really stuck about what to do for entertainment. Was thinking about hiring a band or something just for an hour or so during the photo time. Not too sure what to do about music during the meal. What do you think? Was just going to have my i-pod and hire the speakers and mic for speeches. Then once we have all had food, and some drinks take the party to the hotel disco. Not doing a first dance, or cutting of the cake. So don't think we really need a DJ to sort music and introductions. Do you think that sounds ok? Your wedding day sounds VERY similiar to mine. - Getting married Feb. 10th @ CAT - 27 people booked (waiting for 10 more) - Haven't hired a photographer yet (yikes!) - Wedding at 3:00 pm on the beach - Thinking of doing a "cocktail hour" (downside: have to pay for drinks) or sending our guests to the bar (upside: "free" drinks) - Also thinking of hiring a Mariachi Band for 2 hours during "cocktail hour" but they are $300/hour! - No reception planned for Mexico but will do a AHR when we return to Michigan - Since a cake is included in our package we might just do that at our "cocktail hour" but we won't be doing first dances since we'll save that for the AHR Good Luck with the rest of your planning! ~ Erica

I think he is lonely since I'm pretty much in love with this forum! Seriously, I think I might be addicted. But, it's a good thing because I wouldn't have attempted all my DIY projects (Foam Door Hangers, Rhinestone Tanks, Keycard/Tip Holders, etc.) I had my dress and veil made here (China) but I'm not sure I like my veil. I showed the tailor pictures and she made it but was unsure on how to attach the hair comb. So, I have a bit of time to bring it to another tailor. Honestly, I really like the style but I'm not sure how to explain where it should be sewn onto the comb. Are any of you having your veils made? Did you buy your veil? If so, can you post some pictures? I will take a picture of mine when I get home from work today. Who is doing your hair? The resort? I have a friend that offered to do my hair but I'm second guessing my decision and might have the resort do it. The reason I'm nervous about her doing it is she is bringing her 8 month old daughter to Mexico and I'm worried if her daughter is having a bad day on my wedding day what if she can't do my hair exactly how I want it. Is this being too selfish? I mean it is my wedding day!?! I might just nicely tell her I'm having the resort do it. It's only $75 for a piece of mind. What do you think?
  4. Well, this is how we are giving ours away. Whoever's birthday is closest to our wedding date will take home the centerpiece. We thought it would be a fun way for our guests to interact and it is a totally fair way to give them away. I can't take credit for the idea though, it was my FMIL that thought of it. Good Luck! ~ Erica

I actually looked at some diamond ear rings yesterday at the mall. I am really liking that idea. I could even wear them for the wedding... maybe not.. I want dangling bling.lol I think I am going to try the local "Shoppers Drug Mart" they apparently do make up applications for free here. My gfriend told me that the one closest to me has a really awesome girl there has done her makeup a couple for times. My one gfriend never goes through the door without looking polished to the 9's. I'll see what this gal can come up with. Have a great day ladies... stay outta trouble Nice thinking on the earrings!! Sounds like you and the FMIL are bonding.... so cute!!! When I head to the states next month I'm going to hit a few of those makeup counters for free demos! I can't wait. Trouble? I think you are the girl that gets into trouble! Oh wait, it could be Shellk since she has a thing for batteries.... lol Have a good day girls! ~ China Girl

Funny enough I know she has two fur coats and I have never seen her with either on... I went to Sephora today and looked their stuff... holy smokes for about $250 I could have got the basics for my wedding day.... That is way too much.... I wear make up on the weekends and sometimes during the week. Mostly nothing!!!!! I think that is alot for makeup. I will maybe go to the local drug store and check out the brands they have. $54 dollars for a foundation was a bit extreme..... I LOVE SEPHORA!!! But on my last vacation I was in the airport lobby and found the perfect travel pack, it's made by Clinique. Here are the details... Clinique Travel Exclusive - 4 eyeshadow - 1 blush - 1 double face powder - 4 lipsticks & 1 sheer - 1 High Impact Mascara ... and comes in this cute little case. I just love it! It was $40 but well worth it. Good Luck! ~ Erica

He started a rental business with us and we have 4 rental properties. It's hard work but fun at the same time. Way to go on passing!!! Yayyy!!! vdaybride Nice job on the OOT bags! Your flowergirls are going to love them! SusieQ Wow... a mink coat? That's really nice of her. I would be shocked too, but unfortunately I would have a hard time wearing such an expensive coat once made of a real animal. I'm an animal lover and just couldn't do it. Your FMIL sounds like a sweetie! Maybe you could ask her to get you some real silverware instead so when you have her over for dinner, you can use it Just a thought. Kristaheer Way to go FMIL!!! Hee-hee! Hope all you girls had a great weekend! Today is Monday (12:48pm) in China and I have the Monday blues... auughh!!! ~ Erica

Of course coming on here feels like I get to chat with close friends so thats awesome! I'll let you all know how the test goes. 75% of people who take it fail thier first time... gulp! Do they sell door hangers that are not foam, or that you could print something on? Hello! Thanks... if it wasn't for this great forum, I would have never done half of the stuff I've done. Love this forum!!! Hmmm... printable door hangers that aren't foam. Do you mean something like this? Amazon.com: BLANKS/USA Pre-Cut Jumbo Door HangEr, 15 Sheets, 30 Door Hangers (DHT08X9WH): Office Products That would be a fun idea as well. Good Luck! ~ Erica
  17. LOVE #2... the fuchsia pops and says "Here I am, grab me and lets head to Turks & Caicos" Nice job! ~ Erica
  18. I agree with the other brides! Have your cousin as your "Man of Honor"... I think that is great!! As far as your younger cousin, have him usher or do you have programs/fans to hand out at the ceremony? Maybe by giving him one of those jobs he will feel like a big part of your wedding and your aunt will be happy. That's too bad she is making you feel so crummy! She shouldn't be putting you on such a huge guilt trip. You have enough on your plate! I feel for you!!! Good Luck and keep us posted on what you have decided!! ~ Erica

I agree, we don't want to mess with the blood tests and paperwork in Mexico. That is why we are getting "legally" married a few days before we leave for Mexico. The only nice thing about doing the "legal paperwork" in Michigan before we leave is my 80 year old grandmother who can't make it to Mexico will be one of our witnesses at the courthouse. I know she will be thrilled when we tell her. Other than that, the legal part in Michigan has no symbolic feeling for us, it's just paperwork and our real wedding date will be Feb. 10th in Mexico. Good Luck! ~ Erica
