  1. That looks really great! I am working on mine right now. What font did you use for your names?
  2. Hi Ladies, another December 2009 Bride here! We are getting married Dec 31 in Negril, Jamaica. The exact location should be finalized this weekend (hopefully). But OMG, I am so far behind!!!! I alwayd wanted a DW in Jamaica (my family is from there), but my FI said no. After his first trip to JA in Feb, he said he wanted to get married there, so it has been a last minute thing. Things I've done: 1. Found my dress (not ordered yet) 2. Got a wedding planner 3. Finalized a list of possible locations To do List: 1. EVERYTHING!!!!!! I am really freaked out about being behind after reading so many posts. I am looking at STD templates and will begin working on them when a location is finalized and send the out ASAP. Hope we can get some more Dec 09 brides to post here, the Nov 09 thread has like 28 pgs!
  3. Ditto on what Blkatz and JustUsTwo said. You could have a small private Catholic Ceremony at your home church with just your parents, then have a ceremony at ROR. In the end, it is your wedding. If a DW is really what you want, your parents will come around. Just talk with them and explain your desire to have a DW and what it would mean to you and your FI.
  4. Hi, Here is the info I recieved from Rockhouse: Thank you for your interest in the Rockhouse. Our wedding cut off date is December 15theach year. Unfortunately we are fully booked for these dates you are inquiring. Rockhouse requires where all 34 rooms are booked in order to do a wedding on property. If this requirement cannot be met a minimum of 27 rooms must be booked by wedding guests. CLIENT will be required to fill or pay for a total of 27 rooms where all 34 rooms are not filled or less than 27 rooms are filled. We have policy so we can accommodate smaller, more intimate weddings at the hotel. As long as the wedding group remains small in relation to the size of the hotel there would be no problems. And so we are now making the hotel available for hosting weddings for up to 10 rooms or 20 people. For larger groups than this we will retain the policy of requiring that the whole hotel (34 rooms) be booked. We also continue to have a policy of no more than one wedding in any week to ensure that our team has the time needed to focus on this very special day.The deposit amount which is required to secure a wedding date is US$4000. Rockhouse requires a three night’s minimum stay. We accept children twelve years and older as we are located on the cliff it dangerous for younger children. Our food and beverage minimum to close our restaurant for an event is $8000 not including tax and service charge. However you also have the option of dining at the pool side the night of the wedding. There isn’t a food and beverage minimum for this area however there is a 50 person’s minimum to close the pool area for a function. The US$4000 deposit will go towards your 50% food deposit as soon as we have finalized menu prices for 2009. All rooms will be held for a minimum of three nights a deposit of 3 nights is required to confirm all reservations. Please advise if you have any alternate dates. Refunds will be made with notice:- 1. 30 days or more prior to the wedding date 50 percent of deposit cancellation penalty. 2. 30 days or less, no refund 3. All bookings to be guaranteed by deposit at least 4 months prior to date of the wedding. Simple Tropical Elegance The Rockhouse "Simple Tropical Elegance" package is the starting package for all weddings at the Rockhouse and includes; License and Legal Fees, Minister Charges, Choice of Location on the Rockhouse Grounds, Bottle of Champagne, Wedding Cake (for up to 6 people),Witness (if required), Decorated Wedding Location including Walkway Petals, Bridal Bouquet ($50 value) and Boutonniere. The cost of this package is US$750.00 plus a 8.25% Government tax. Hope this helps!

The Dunn's River trip is a long drive, but you cannot go to Jamaica without doing this; ours came with a complementary trip to Negril to shop and go to Rick's cafe. Hope this helps!
  6. Any beaches resort, starfish trelawny, and FDR are a few.
  7. Hi, I tried to book there for my New's Years wedding, and they told me they don't do weddings past Dec 15, so if they have anything available, it would be before then. Good Luck
  8. Hi! Welcome to the forum, One place you may want to consider is the Grand Palladium in Lucea. I was there this Feb and it will fit all your requirements. It was affordable, and fun for all ages. I am 25, and my fiance, sister & husband (30's), Mom, Aunt & Uncle(60's) all had a great time. It is not to far from Montego Bay so there is plenty to do, but you dont hear airport noise. The zipline was awesome, and it is a 3hr drive to Ocho Rios for Dunn's River and Dolphin swimming. Plus, the rooms were really great! We were in bldg 14, 1st floor. We opened our patio door, and literally stepped down right in front of the ocean. All in all, this was fun for all ages. Hope this helps
  9. Hi Ladies! I am have my wedding at a small resort outside of Negril. They offer photography for the wedding, but it is just someone random who works at the resort. I am interesting in bringing in my own photographer. I have seen so many beautiful pictures by local photographers and was wondering what I should expect to pay for various packages. Nobody seems to have pricing on their websites. Can you guys tell me what you have found as far as pricing for local photographers? I did a search here, but all I found was comments about how expensive various people were (no actual price). Also, for those of you having a reception, did you book the photographer to stay for the entire time, or just a couple of hours? One last question...for those of you that have done, or will be doing a TTD session, was that included in your package? Thank you in advance for any help/suggestions!
  10. Hello Ladies, I am still searching for a wedding/reception location. I have found one location, but I am not completely happy with it. The problem is the majority of my guests are family members that live in Jamaica. The larger AI require 50-80% of your guests to stay in the same hotel. My family will not be staying in a hotel, they will be at their house Has anyone encountered this issue? If not, do you know if your resort/hotel has a requirement about the % of wedding quests that must stay at the resort? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks
  11. There is internet access pretty much everywhere. The resorts usually have extended cable that brings in channels from the states. You should be able to catch a few games.
  12. Deavah, If you use the "post reply" button instead of "guick reply", you can get the animated happy faces.
  13. Congrats! Can't wait to see pics and read your review. Have a wonderful time
