I'm so sorry to hear that. I actually posted a vent a few days ago cause I am going through the same thing, but for us it is the FI fam is not going (not 1 single person) and only 2 of his friends are showing. The rest is just a few family members of mine and around 3 friends. I was so upset at the FI fam that I felt like screaming and/or crying. I'm just going to tell you what everyone has told me....the most important thing of all is that you have eachother and what makes it even better is that you have the most important people out of your families going...your parents...that is awesome. Everyone else is missing out..trust me when they see the pictures and hear the stories of the DW they are going to be the ones feeling left out!! I know its hard...Its hard for me and my FI (he really wanted his mom and bro to be there especially) but you cant force anyone to go and what are you going to do...right? I'm hoping that the day of the wedding things will go so beautifully that I forget all the chaos and so does my FI and all turns out great and I am hoping the same for your big day. And if you still feel stressed then take a boxing/tae bo or turbo jam class so you can punch out the frustration and look good doing it..lol...thats what Ive been doing :-)

Hi Guys, Just wanted to give you an update. Although a few weeks ago Demetrio told me that hair and makeup are done at the spa Elena just emailed me a correction saying they do not do makeup at the spa but could have someone come to the resort to do it along with hair and that would be $350. Luckily after searching through this site I was able to find someone to do my makeup. Still no word on the flavors MrsPain2b :-( I'll keep you ladies posted on future findings.

EDSROSA, I know. I feel the same way. I know its about the two of us but at the same time I know its going to hurt my FI not to have anyone there for him, especially his mom and brother. We are the type also who are there for everyone at their time of need and his family is never there for him. It is our day and its going to be beautiful, but I also know he is going to feel their absence, but what can we do right?

I just want to give you a and tell you from experience that what does not kill you WILL make you stronger. I have been through alot also. My very close cousin/bff died of AIDS, my aunt who was like a second my died of Lupus and the father I thought I knew and loved turned out to be a pedaphile (and lied to me so i went upstate to visit him in jail for a year b4 I got anonymously the court papers showing what he really went to jail for) and much more. I know it seems like everything is crumbling around you but trust me ..IT WILL BE OK. stay strong and take this marriage as a knew beginning. Take care of yourself!!

I'm so sorry to hear that but please keep your head up. I have a lot of my family who are diagnosed with various conditions and it can be so depressing, but what we do when we are feeling down is think of the many ways it can be worst and that usually lifts everyones spirit. Remember all the good things about you and remember that you have someone there who love you and you will have eachother for the rest of your lives. We are all rooting for you to get better!!

Thanks everyone. ebbica thats what hurts me even more. His friends are not coming either. His now 2 groomsmen (his BM was supposed to be his bro who is now not coming) one is his friend now but have been my friends since young. So it is not part of his friends that he grew up with and the other GM is my little cousin. He does have 1 friend who is going and get this..they only have known eachother for 4 months!! His fam and close friends arent going but this person who has become a great friend in a short time can put the effort to make it and is already booked...unbelievable. My FI was so excited when he booked and I was so happy for him :-)

I would definitly say noand tell them the invites have been sent, the RSVPS are in and all is set in stone at this point. If they get mad just tell them that you are not the rude one, they are rude for expecting you to invite someone you are not close with. This is not just a time for fun in the sun, its a wedding - your wedding and it should be about spending it with people close to YOU.

Good Luck tdmitchell!! It is going to be one of the craziest and just plain fun and exciting experiences in your life. I told my friend to get married next year just so I have a reason to go back..lol. One piece of advice...take at least 2 or more people to help you find dresses and hold on to you...trust me you will need them :-)
