  1. I forgot to thank you Morgan. I'm going to see if they can send me the flavors of the cake. I am really hoping they can do chocolate.
  2. I agree with you guys. Pictures are so important and it is one of the things that you should splurge on. The will last a lifetime and is so worth it!!
  3. Thanks guys for your support. Amy you are right that is why we love them. shankd, I wish he would break, but he wont. When it comes to his family he turns to jello. You know what really gets me upset is that the MIL has the nerve to ask for a big screen tv and laptop from my FI and his brother for her birthday (after she knew we were having our DW) and my FI got it for her and the brother who claims not to have $$ gets her the laptop!! Guess what she got my FI for his b-day this year..nothing as usual then asked for another big gift for mothers day that I put my foot down to cause we just cannot afford it right now. Can you believe it. Then this weekend she cant come to the wedding..It makes me want to scream. If we knew that last year we could have paid for her to go (although I must admit that it would have ticked me off a bit cause she has money for everything else meanwhile my fam dont earn that much and almost all of my immediate famly and friends are going)...I just dont understand her. Dont get me wrong, we get along but you are his mother and he is the only son who is going to get married (the other is gay) and you cant make it but you can ask for so much from it and he gives it to her even if he doesnt have anything..he'll find a way to please her...I am just really hurt more than anything for him. They have all really topped it off this time. Sorry...here i am venting again..lol
  4. I am going through drama cause not one person and I repeat NOT ONE person from my FI's family is coming to the wedding eventhough we told them a year ago and even said just save $50 a paycheck. Everyone was all for it in the beginning actins very excited and as we get close we are down to 0 from the FI side. They all say they have no $$ but could afford PS3's and trip and cars and cosmetic surgery. IDK how to comfort him either since he is the one in his family who is there for everyone and when it comes down to it not one of them is ever there for him. But its his fam so what can I say. Especially since he is bery sensitive (as is most people) whne it comes to his fam. Just needed to vent before I scream or cry or doo both. The worst part is that he is broken hearted and is trying to be brave to them so I dont even think they realize how much this hurts him ( not that Im convinced it would make much difference) ...I'm so sad for him :-(
  5. Thanks Morgan for the pic of the cake!! I always wondered about it too!! Do you pick the flavors once there?? MrsPain2b, I am using Ivan Luckie. He is great and affordable. Since posting a thread on him a few BDW brides have already used him. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t39450
  6. I feel for you. I am going through dramam too cause not one person and I repeat NOT ONE person from my FI's family is coming to the wedding eventhough we told them a year ago and even said just save $50 a paycheck. Everyone was all for it in the beginning and as we get close we are down to 0 from the FI side. They all say they have no $$ but could afford PS3's and trip and cars and cosmetic surgery. IDK how to comfort him either since he is the one in his family who is there for everyone and when it comes down to it not one of them is ever there for him. But its his fam so what can I say. Keep your head hope and hopefully all will be ok. Thats what I am hoping for
  7. Thanks Ladies!! It was soo much fun. I actually work right by the store and had a pretty calmm experience cause I went after work at like 6pm and there were still tons of dresses :-) I did see the madness when I tried going for lunch time. It was so crazy I held off til after work. At one point someone tried to take my dress while I was still trying to take it off...lol..so crazy, but very fun when I went back. I tried on like 50 dresses in a couple of hours. I was torn between 2 dresses and when I finally settled on one the strap was broken and when I went to look for another one I found this dress. It was the 2 dresses I had loved combined into one. Thanks for all the complements btw..you ladies made my day :-)
  8. Sorry...Here is one more with my cheese grin. I cant find the one of the back of the dress :-(
  9. I finally have a pic of my wedding dress. I found it at the Running of the Brides here in NY at Filene's Bridal Event. It was the very last dress I tried on. I still have to get it taken in (even more now since I lost weight since I took this pic). I just wanted to share with you guys. I so love it. Its simple, elegant, yet sexy and weddingy all at the same time :-) BTW - Dont pay attn to the mess in the background...lol
  10. ashey063009 a Bd book is an awesome anniversary gift..I say go for it!! I love your hottest bride idea by the way!! Jeremy I love that pic..its classy and sexy and thats the look Im going for...the lighting, the veil, the background...I love it! I have a few more pics that I plan to borrow some aspects from. When the FI is away I'' post (hes nosey..lol)
  11. Hi, I'm glad you decided to do the BD shoot..I am sure your FI will love it and its so fun and empowering. I am going the DIY method after some inspiration from fellow BDW members who did great jobs themselves!! thats a thought. Im having my MOH take the pics. As for getting your friend of your FI to do it...I would say its great if you feel comfortable with it and if you think your FI wouldnt mind. He may ask who took the photos and you wouldnt want such a great gift to be dampered by your FI being upset. If you think he will get upset then maybe you can find another photog in your area. Personally I wouldnt do it cause I know my Fi would get upset but it depends on the groom, the friend, you and how each feels about it. Hope this helps!!
  12. wow ebredhawk you look great!! Thanks for your well wishes!! My best friend and MOH is going to take them for me next month..I'll post the pics as soon as I get them :-) mrsrhbtobe I love that website. Thanks for sharing. I'll post more also for insipriation for our futre BD phoot...so exciting :-)
  13. I finally figured out how to post pics!! Here is an idea I def want to do for my BD shoot!!
  14. Thanks Morgan. Yes, I'm thinking of getting extra center pieces for the tables and flowers for the BM's and one to put in their hair. Did you guys get your BM's flowers (if you had any)?
  15. Yay..I finally figured out how too post pics..lol. Her is my hair inspiration or : and makeup will probably be natral with nice dramtic eyes:
  16. I say brown with highlights..Its a win win for all :-)
  17. Hulaqt and soon2bevalentine I love your pics!! Does anyone know how much the centerpieces and flowers are?
  18. Thanks for your help guys. I dont think I need them but my immediate family wants to be sure to have the seats closest to us. Do you think it would be ok if I just put reserved on the table for our immediate family?
  19. I was just thinking that I have not even thought about seating arrangements. We have about 20 - 25 guests coming so do you think it is needed? Many are telling me its a waste of time and in part I agree being that it is a small wedding and people may feel more comfortable sitting with who they choose but at the same time I dont want people scrambling for seats or unsure of where to go? What do you think? If I do need table 3#'s do you know of a place that is affordable (i am on a budget that is slowly falling apart..lol) Thanks!!
  20. I'm glad he liked it and that it turned out to be ok. I hate being disappointed. I hope the vendor gave you part of your money back since you were unhappy with her work
