  1. I really want to be in for another season! I am so sorry for not participating the last month. My computer crashed, my son broke my camera when he was in Mexico. I have to lose 26 lbs by July 1. I know I can do it if I set my mind to it. Congratulations!
  2. I love that store. I can't go in there and not buy anything. Congrats on the great find!
  3. beatiful dress Lizzdee, I love lace. My Maggie is the Catarina and it is lace and ivory as well. Let us know if you find a vintage brooch to replace the one that comes with dress.
  4. Well I have not had my AHR yet, but this is what I plan on doing. We are inviiting abut 50 ppl (hope alot dont show up small yard). I plan on decorating the yard with a couple of gazebos (bought 2 last year really cheap ones) I will put some tables in there with chairs and decorate the yard with tulle and sparkle white lights, maybe some chinese lanterns(also chairs and tables not under gazebo). I do plan on wearing 2nd wedding dress that I have purchased for the evening in Jamaica, but I might change my mind. I have scheduled the time to start at 3p.m. with cocktails and appetizers. I am having Jamaican and Canadian/American cuisine. I have also found someone to make me the traditional Jamaican wedding cake with the rum. So I do plan on doing a cake cutting. We will be having beer and wine and the jamaican rum punch alson with water, pop etc) As far as music I will be playing Jamaican music (steel drum, bob marley etc) There will be no dancing. I think the guests will just be socializing the entire time. I am not sure how I plan on doing the slide show (maybe just on the computer playing over and over again in the house.). Something that I wanted to do but we just don't have the room in the house to do it. Was have everyone arrive at 3, then have a video ceremony. So I would have chairs set up like an acutal ceremony. Start the video of the wedding and have us walk in exactly as the video. But there is just not enough room in the house to do this. My guests can wear whatever they want. Its going to be hot in the backyard. I do hope they wear something nice and not jean shorts and tank tops lol. And I am hoping for NO RAIN
  5. I made invites thru vista print(free) and will be mailing them out end of May. AHR date is Aug 13/11 As far as RSVP I have set it up on my wedding website and also included my phone number.
  6. Oh I am so sorry, I totally forgot to send my info in. I have had no motivation and the scale has started to rise . But my son he is great has offered me a challenge. I want to lose at least 30lbs before my wedding and I think there is still time if I dont cheat anymore. He said he would give me 300.00 USD if I lost 30 lbs. or 10.00 for every 10lbs I lose. So I have little sticky notes all over the kitchen and on my computer desk counting down the lbs lol. Good luck everyone
  7. wow that a tough one. I think I like the first one better. Its to bad you could not try them on with the dress you would get a better idea on how each of them woud look.
  8. I really need to get re-motivated. Congratulations Teira on being the biggest loser for the week
  9. Welcome neighbour, I live in Oshawa. It depends what type of a resort you are looking for. There are so many nice resorts to choice from in Jamaica. Riu Ocho Rios is very popular. we chose Couples Sans Souci for the beauty and its a small resort adults/couples only. Negril side is famous for its beaches. Just keep reading thru the different threads on the forum and decide what is important for you and start narrowing it down from there. Have fun planning!
  10. There is a chance of late day rain due to daytime heating. I have been watching hurricanes the last few years and found the trend to be more near the end of August. But who can tell with the weather. I went to Cuba summer 2009 and we were there the middle of August we had the tail end of a tropical storm that came thru Jamaica as well. But really it was about 5 hours of rain and wind (not high winds). We just sat on our balcony and drank and drank and drank some more. The cool rain felt good since it was so damn hot. No matter the weather we are still getting married in paradise
  11. GlamDiva, I am about at the same stages as you for planning. I have reconfirmed with photographer, wedding planner, etc. Right now my spare bedroom is wedding central lol. I have the oot bag stuff all over the bed and ready to organize, just need to pick up a few more items. I am going today to buy the ribbon for the raffia fans and will be attaching that sometime this week. I bought starfish wine toppers from Weddingstar as a favour and putting them in the oot bags, they should be coming in any day. I had arranged a catamaran for the afternoon of the wedding, but the company kinda screwed that up (partly my fault for not booking it sooner) Anyways I did find another company and now I have rented speed boats, great company they cater to your needs, so we will be snorkeling, private beach and tubing, as well a tour along the coastline. Its a way better price then the catamaran and its longer. Food and snacks are also included. I have alot of older guests so they wont be tubing but they can relax on the beach. My biggest worry for the wedding is the budget, I seem to go over it on a daily basis. FI keeps telling me not to worry. But I do lol. Also my weight is a big one for me. I need to drop a few lbs for the dress to fit. I refused to order it one size larger at a higher price. The only measurement that is off is my waist. At the time of ordering it was 3 inches I have to lose, right now its about 2. I know I can do it but its haunting me. We have almost reached the 4 months to go mark. The time is starting to go by very quickly!
