  1. WOW...how odd!? I'm sure Mr. Asshole has filled her head with so many lies about you & your relationship together to make himself look good that she doesn't know any better. I kind of feel bad for her...she's just a kid who's infatuated with an older man. Don't get me wrong...I do not think what she did is right...it is completely wrong - but you have to remember that she's only 18 and most 18 yr olds don't know enough about life (or asshole men!). I think you did the right thing in ignoring & blocking her. That is definitely the mature thing to do...there is no point going back & forth with her - she is oblivious to anything but Mr. asshole!! Keep copies of the emails & make sure everything is dated just in case it keeps up & she keeps contacting you - I doubt it, but you may have to get the police involved if it turns into harrassment. I suggest you forget this whole thing & focus on the love you & your FI share & your upcoming wedding!! That should be your only focus right now!! Kudos to you for being the bigger person!!
  2. Oh Heather...you look beautiful!! I like the first one...just because it's a booby cut & that is totally my style!! Why don't you get the first one altered and then decide? You cannot really get a true feel of what you look/feel like until the dress actually fits you! The first time I tried on my dress it fit me perfectly & I loved it!!! The second time (in a different store) I tried it on & it was too small & I didn't like it so much. But I just remembered how much I liked it the first time & went with it. And my first time trying on my real dress it was too big & it didn't feel right or as nice...I just know that once the alterations are done it will be amazing. The same for you I"m sure!! So, if it's not too pricey get the first one altered and even bring both like you said...try both on the day of see which one you "feel right" in! Or you could always wear both...one ceremony, one reception...or use one as a TTD. You have so many options & I'm sure whatever you decide will be perfect!!

There is so much to do. FI and I have kind of separated the events...I'm doing wedding stuff & he's doing house stuff. But of course I am dealing with some of the house stuff too. Oh boy...& then Christmas!! YIKES!! I hope I get through it all!! LOL So how are your plans going?? Almost all done??
  4. You just asked this question... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t31713
  5. I don't think it will be gone completely...even the wash out ones will leave some color. I would consult with a professional. Just go in & talk to one...you don't have to get anything done about it now...see how it looks in Feb or March. I'm sure you will be able to color over it by then! Do not stress over it!!
  6. Oh Tara...it's beautiful!! Can't wait to see the rest!! Enjoy your honeymoon...and let that poor boy up for some air every now & then!!
  7. Hmmm...I understand the shift work & wanting to spend all the time with him she can, but wouldn't that leave her more time free if she feels she doesn't have much time with him?? That's the way I feel with FI! I don't do anything with the girls when I know he's going to be home...I plan everything with them when he's working. That seems strange to me!! Maybe you could send her a letter letting her know how you feel. Hopefully she takes it the right way - just tell her you miss her & would love her to participate in the wedding stuff because her opinion is so important to you. And if you actually mail her a letter she might catch on! Good luck & keep us posted!!
  8. Hi Dana!!! to the forum (officially!)!!! Happy Planning!!!
  9. there are TONNES of threads on ceremony music!! If you go to search in the top menu bar & do an advanced search for ceremony music using thread titles (its in a drop down menu) you'll find a really good one! Good Luck!!!
  10. to the forum!! Sorry I can't help you with the resort specific info...but if you have any other Qs feel free to ask!! Happy Planning!!!
  11. Oh no...no crying... Maybe one of the girls here on BDW have built up a repitoir (sp?) with the GP and can contact them on your behalf - they may be more responsive to someone they've had previous dealings with. Try contacting a couple of the girls here. I'm sure they would be more than happy to help!!

I am his only daughter & surprisingly he did not hesitate when I told him FI and I were planning a destination wedding! I was speaking with him the other evening (one of our 3 or 4 yearly phone calls!) and he's actually excited (he's never been outside of Canada). I am so sorry you are going through this - it sucks! I can't believe he emailed you!!!! He probably felt too shitty picking up the phone & telling you in person - that's what happens to most people when they know they are wrong! I am thinking that the Step-M had a lot to do with the turn of events. But what is with taking a cruise in October (hirricane season)!! Pretty sure I would rather be on land than a boat if there was a hurricane!! Some people are just impossible. I say tell him what a jerk he is being & hopefully he will wise up - if not, then he's not worth the stress this is causing you!! (Sorry if this is a repeat of what anyone else has said, but I didn't get a chance to read everyones post)
  13. We are paying for our own wedding. And each individual person is paying for their own trip. My mom bought my dress & that's all the help we've had. Our AHR is going to be a VERY simple backyard BBQ - BYOB, family playing music, pot luck - just a big party really! I agree with Kelly that there are no rules/proper etiquette for DWs. Go with the flow!!!
  14. OMG...I would be going bizerk!!! I am a very detail oriented person & not knowing details would be killing me!! Have you confirmed your wedding day & time? Can you get that much out of them?? That is the important thing. Other than that (if you're easy going - which I am not!) then the rest doesn't really matter. You can bring your original documents with you - you have to anyway. And any other details won't affect whether you can get married or not. Do you have a TA?? Mine is taking care of dealing with the resort & WC for me...yours may do the same. Good Luck!!! I'm sure everything will work out! Just breathe!

A suggestion to go along with that is to use an old bag that you don't want to keep, or a collapsable (sp?) one so that you won't have to pay for it to come back. You can just leave it there for the maids, or fold it & put it in your other suitcase. I am assuming you will not be bringing back most of your wedding stuff that is in the bag (OOT bag fillers, etc).

Although it never hurts to look into it at the counter when you check in...and if it's too much there you still have your cheap, jam packed seat!! I'm definitely going to look into it!!!
  18. to the forum!! You'll have a blast here!! Good Luck & Happy Planning!!!
  19. Wow...2 weeks...I'm jealous!!! We thought about doing that...but since I only get 2 weeks vaca & we are doing an AWR in Newfoundland in the summer there are my 2 weeks gone! It turns out we're going to get a mini honeymoon anyway...we went to Bad Boy Furniture last evening to order our stuff for the new house & we got a free camcorder AND a 4 day/3 night Carribbean cruise!! We just pay $190 each for taxes!! WOOHOO!!! I couldn't believe it...I didn't even know they had a promo going on!!! So needless to say I'm pretty excited!!!
