  1. So sorry to hear about your FFIL. I think there isn't enough forgiveness in this world...
  2. There's a huge JYSK near my place. Thanks for the excuse to go there again!

It's the thought that counts! I guess I was fortunate to get the ring that I got but, if it was none, I would have been fine with that too Oh, and to this day, he wont tell me how much he spent. not even a hint. I just know it was A LOT! Jeweler sent the appraisal to the house and FI left it on the table. Duh, did he think I wasn't going to look? I agree that the 3 months salary thing is way outdated. And I agree not to go in debt for a ring, it's a ring people. It won't drive you places you know, lol.
  4. Totally out of place but just thought I'd let you know I am very jealous of everyone who is getting married at the Azul Sensatori. I wanted to do Mexico and Azul was my first choice but a special someone (NOT ME) was too chicken shit for the blood tests.
  5. Yesterday I was at a jewlery store trying to get a battery for a watch and there was a guy chosing an engagement ring. I thought it was so cute but the ring was very small ($300 ring maybe?). I know it's the thought that counts. What's your opinion on how much a guy should spend on a ring? Discuss. *watches*

I've gotta get rich ... lol. Like the show on SLICE (I think it's a Canadian channel) called Spoiled Rotten. On the commercial for the show the teenager goes " It would have been already if I just wanted a Jetta but I wanted a Mazda 6" You're 16, I would have been happy to have a brand new Jetta. GEESH.
  7. You could go to a store and pretend you want to buy a platinum band with them to see if it would look nice.
  8. Platinum is a bit more dark than white gold. I don't think the difference is huge.

I am not going to pretend like it wouldn't be nice to own a house and all that jazz but I am sooooo not a materialistic person. I hope my complaining didn't come off that way. I just wondered how people are able to afford children and mortages. I am talking about basics such as paying into your healthcare and retirement funds not about vacation homes and shopping kwow what I mean? Totally understood, wasn't meaning to say that you are materialistic. I'm glad that in Canada we don't have to pay for our health care!
  10. I think at the end of the day we have to count ourselves lucky if we have a roof over our head and food on the table. A big house, a nice car, all those things are superficial. I know it's nice to have things but there are always people way worst off than you. Know what I mean?

  12. That's very sad because more people are finding themselves going to food banks and places like the Salvation Army who didn't need to before. Quote: Originally Posted by Kristy! 13. You so fast! Didn't see this on the news websites I frequently look at. I knew people were stranded and weren't given reasons. We are flying Skyservice.
  14. The sad fact is that the people (most, but not all) with the big house the 2 new cars and the 2 kids are in debt out of their a$$.
  15. Must walk every morning and every night due to little puppy needing exercise. Why oh why did I get a puppy again?
  16. I'll start blowing east so maybe it will blow over Cuba or something instead (sorry to people getting married in Cuba)

    Hi!

Wild turkeys outnumber people in my neighbourhood........
  19. They are very loyal and intelligent dogs. I just got mine a month ago (3 months old now). We tried adopting from our local shelter but they treated us like criminals. We couldn't see the dog, we had to fill out paperwork, then if we were acceptable parents they would let us see the dog and pay to take him home if we liked him. We ended up driving 4 hours to get him from a small breeder (breeds once every 2 years) to get our puppy. Puppy is sitting on my lap making sure I have a clean screen, he's a cuddle/lick monster!!!! Quote: Originally Posted by Jacqueline NO WAY! 20. Thought it would be great to sit outside and do a bit of sun tanning since it's never sunny and always raining here. Fell asleep and now I'm a bit lobster looking. Thought my puppy would wake me up, yah right! Feel free to rant
  21. Get a doberman, doberman, doberman. Can you tell I have a doberman? Quote: Originally Posted by Jacqueline my ex's sister had a puggle and though it was a very sweet dog, it was very hyper, and barked a lot. i dont think that should exclude them though. you just need time and patience so it can be trained properly. im a strong believer in dog training, it will make a world of difference. how old is your fi's boxer? they are gr8 dogs too, my bf growing up had one and she was a DOLL BABY! oh i loved her. they too can get hype and goofy, so if u think about it, all dogs are kinda hyper in a way. joe and i want to get a puppy. i am thinking after the wed, maybe a year and a half, 2 years. he already has his shiba inu and shes great. i want to get a bull terrier (spud mckenzie) or a doberman SOO bad. i wish i could just get both but that would be nuts. lol we'll cross that bridge when we get to it though. good luck to you guys!
  22. Ricky Martin is a daddy.........................
  23. I suggest emailing the wedding coordinator. If you go to the website for the resort you are going there is usually an email address and ask them all the questions your heart desires. They are usually very friendly and eager to give you any information you require even if the wedding is 16 months away. Quote: Originally Posted by shelly oh thanks for that info! i guess i should see if my resort has a toll free number i can call to see what their policy is...do you know if it is possible to talk to the wedding coordinator before we get down there??
