Are you dealing through a travel agent? I found that when I tried to contact the hotel wedding coordinator directly they would take forever to answer but once I had my travel agent it didn't take as long to get a reply. I hope for you that they have dates left because I just tried to change my date and they didn't have much available for January.
  2. Have you tried drinking more water? When you are hungry, have fruit or yogurt with a huge glass of water. It usually helps keeping you feeling fuller for longer. I am also a big believer in eating what you feel like eating (ok, if you feel like have chocolate cake 4 times a day, that's a problem) but balance it out with a good exercise regime (I'm talking 3 times a week cardio, 2-3 times a week strength training). Another alternative is to keep those "100 calories" snacks around, that way when you are reaaaaaaaaally hungry (like right now) you can have one and not feel too guilty.
  3. Hi everyone! I already have a date booked but just found out that our departure date has been moved up one day. This means we get to Punta Cana on a Saturday and get married on the Tuesday. Originally we were arriving on Sunday and getting married on the Tuesday. As soon as I was informed I asked the wedding coordinator if there was availability on the Monday. There is availability on Monday but only in the morning. I would like your opinion on a morning wedding (I didn't get a confirmation of what time yet, still waiting on an answer). Do you think it's a good idea? Won't it be hot? Our original wedding date is 3pm. Thanks for any advice you can provide.
  4. That is just absolutely terrible. Writing a letter was a great idea, maybe after reading how their behaviour makes you feel, they will be more tolerable towards you. It takes a really black heart to treat someone this way...
  5. A year is more than reasonable... I would write down everyone's "suggestions" and go from there, hopefully you can find a one week window between everyone's restrictions. Good luck.

I wanted 4pm as well but even though I asked for my wedding date back in August last year I did not get the time I wanted (but 3pm is not bad). We had friends who had to get married at 12pm because it was the only time available during the week they were there (talk about HOT out there!). The beach wedding setup is a little to the side but no matter what you will have people walking around and gawking, no matter where it is.
  8. At least you can party hardy with your friends!! :) smile
  9. Ahhhh I am really lazy compared to all of you, I've done pretty much nothing, but I want something simple anyway so I won't go all crazy with DIY projects. he he he

Get Passports renewed. Yeah....I'm behind. Things are not looking so hot at this point in time for me, and to top it all off I got into it with my MIL today.....the woman is making me CRAZY. She seems to think that Andrew and I need to pay for her entire trip for our wedding when she booked a master suite at the hotel...the same room category as the future hubby and I. Any advice? I would politely tell her that you are happy to pay for her trip (even if you are not, I don't know the situation) but that she will have to accept a room in the normal category. You could offer to keep her in that room category if she wishes but that she will need to pay the difference between a regular room and a master suite. I don't think you are asking for much here, it's very inconsiderate for someone to book themselves in anything other that a basic room if someone else if paying for them. The nerve of some people :/
  11. The Russian Folk Dance was just horrible. I can't believe they let them do that. I liked the first performance of the night and then the rest was just BLAH for me... The choreographies were just "good", we're almost in the top 10, you'd think they'd be keeping the best choreographies for the top but apparently not
  12. Ahh I am a queen procrastinator.. Dress is bought, wedding bands are bought, trip deposit paid and wedding date confirmed. That's it.
  13. Awwhh that really sucks but it's a big reality for a lot of people. Has your vet given you any suggestions on this issue? I do not have cats!
  14. Sucks even more when kids are sick, you feel so bad for them. I hope you all get better soon.
  15. Hopefully she will be a great mom... doesn't seem too bright to me.
  16. I went to the GBP 2 years ago for a wedding, if anyone has questions or wants an opinion, let me know.

Other than the photographer and the flowers there is not much left to pay for! I have to disagree. Most tour operators give you one free ticket (airline and hotel) if you have 20 people. With the Majestic hotels you must book 15 rooms which usually means 30 people.
  18. I can suggest the Gran Bahia Principe or Palladium resorts. Have known people who have gotten married at both those resorts and it was between $1,400 and $1,700 per person including taxes.
  19. It really does suck. I think there is not much you can do about people inviting people you don't know. BUT you can make it 100% clear that those people are NOT invited to your wedding ceremony and reception as you are paying the costs associated with the reception/wedding yourself and you did not invite these people.
  20. I got the confirmation for my wedding date (yay) but it's at 3pm (booooo). I e-mailed my travel agent back to let her know I was NOT happy because we had agreed on 4pm at the earliest. I am going to DIE of heat at 3pm. I've only been asking since August 2008 about my wedding date and time.
  21. I hear you, I just find it so ridiculous that the only have 1 judge in Punta Cana! I've been asking since August about a wedding date and they wouldn't even take my name down and finally my TA was able to get my in the provisional calendar. But I doubt I will get the date I requested and I will be very very angry!
  22. Now that I think back that's exactly the course we took! We had to give him Clavamox for 10 days and in my case the lump didn't get any smaller so we had it removed to get it analyze. The lump was attached to the muscle but they did a really good job and my pup barely has a scar and he's all good and healthy now. It had cost me about the same thing ($500). I'll keep my fingers crossed that the Clavamox will help!
  23. I discovered a lump on my puppy (6 months at the time) and it was hard. When we touched it, didn't bother him. We brought him to the vet and they suggested to remove it (he was getting fixed that week anyway so we killed 2 birds with one stone). The results showed that it was just a lipoma. Still glad we got it removed !
  24. I feed my dog Nutro Ultra and no problems. We had started him on Nutro Ultra, then we switched to Blue Buffalo but damn our dog had really bad gas and I couldn't handle it anymore lol so we switched him back to Nutro Ultra. Now I don't know what to do after reading this!!!!!!!!! Help
