  1. Hey JaimeLynne! Mexican Fiesta tonight sounds fun!!! And you can practice your espanol too!! Can't wait to see pics! Enjoy!
  2. I'm getting married in Puerto Rico so I'm no help to you, but there are lots brides with great info on this site!
  3. I'm reading through all these posts and I'm starting to worry about my bridal SHOWERS!!!!! Totally not my idea!!! SO here's the drama: My FMIL wants to throw me a shower with the women from her work. Okay I don't know ANY of these people but she insists that because they can't attend (afford)the wedding in Puerto Rico they want to do something for me here. My stepmother has announced that she wants to throw a bridal shower with "her side" of family/friends! Now my mother (maybe she feels she needs to keep up) wants to throw a bridal shower with "her side" of family/friends!! This does not even include MY BF throwing a bridal shower with OUR FRIENDS!!!!!!!! Good Lord I don't even think I want one!
  4. I think Mercedes is a wonderful car!!! And I love the dealership & their commitment to keep you happy long after you drive away!!! In my opinion they also have the best warranty!!!!

Samanthag, you can do your legal day whenever you want, the courts have no interest in your non-legal DW wedding because it doesn't count to them anyway. I think most people here do theirs relatively close to their DW, mine was about 2 weeks before the DW. It's all up to you and your hubby-to-be Thanks for answering my question! My FI is like, let's do it on Monday. Ha! I think we will wait until at least Jan. Unless we do get it done early & then by the time the wedding rolls around we will have completely forgotten about it?? No biggie! I'll be ready!
  10. I'm trying to decide on the very same thing with both my hair stylist & makeup artist!!! They both happen to be VERY good friends of mine & would be coming to the wedding regardless. Although they are COMPLETELY against it, I'm paying for both of their flights to Puerto Rico. I just feel it's a great way to say thank you!
  11. I'm at home watching a show on WE called Wedding Central. It's about a venue called "The Wedding Place" where they have 4 or 5 weddings on a typical Saturday!!! This leads me to ask the question, do you know how many weddings will be going on the day you get married? Fortunately for me the resort we are having our wedding at only allows 1 wedding per day! Correction*** "The Wedding Place" had 7 weddings in one day! Is this normal?
  12. That's great! I never thought to make my own. I'm going to start looking now since it looks like they are in high demand!

It really worked out well this way - those that wanted to spend money did & those on a budget were happy too. You know that's a fantastic idea!! I never thought the guests could just plan their own thing. In fact, I spoke with one of my stepbrothers yesterday and I was trying to breakdown costs and what not, and he's like "Hey Sam Greg (his partner) and I are staying at the Marriott & we booked our flights on Continental ...." I guess I should give my guests more credit!!
  14. It's good to hear you girls about your legal day. I was thinking about the same thing - the whole, what do you wear-and what about that vows thingy. Thanks for sharing! I'll throw one more question in, what is the max amount of months 'before' the official wedding (April 25, 2009 for me) can you do your legal day?

It may sound mean, but I refuse to let people stress me. If you feel in your heart this is the resort for you, go for it. Thanks for your support! I totally freaked out when I first received the quote. I'm so glad I started this post because the support of ALL you girls is phenominal!!!!! You girlies are the bestest!
  16. Betsy, I know how horrible you must feel. I know it's hard but you have to remind yourself that you guys are bigger than ANY fight! Tonight just take a deep breath and know that things will be better tomorrow morning. It's tough not to call him or stay up & continue the argument but honestly get some rest and I promise things will be better tomorrow.
  17. Welcome Jenny! I think New Years Eve is a great wedding date! Happy planning!!!

The hotel in Old San Juan for 3 nights & then the resort we are getting married at for 3 nights . I'm waiting for my TA to give me a breakdown of the cost. The only price I know is the airfare & the resort which is $318.00/night. I do know that the quote does include all tax and airport/hotel transfers. I never looked at Mexico for our DW because my FI is from Puerto Rico and the majority of his family still lives on the island. As for my family, they ALL live in San Antonio & have never been to Puerto Rico so this will be both a vacation & wedding celebration! I'm confident with the grace of God things will all work out!
