  1. I think I'm the late one for all the 2009-Brides: December 31, 2009! I can completely relate to feeling a little overwhelmed by going through some basic Google searches. I'm not sure on which island, yet, either, so I'm finding different things about each place that I like. Oh, the decisions! This site is kind of like having a big sister that is willing to show you the ropes. I am so glad I found this site now -- I am devouring all of this great information! I'm also excited to see what all of the 8/7/08 & 8/8/08 Hawaii brides have to say about their experiences. Kev & I have two weddings here in town on 8/8/08, so I can already tell this is a big date!
  2. OMG - this site gives awesome prizes!!!! The more I read the more I'm getting into BDW. It's way too late/early for me to be sucked into surfing the site this much! lol
  3. W O W!!! Have you thought of submitting these to a magazine? The model comments are right on... you would look ****soooo**** great on the pages of InStyle Weddings or one of the other fab magazines. ~Congratulations!~
  4. Oh, Laren, that stinks! I never understand why people think it's okay to dampen someone else's happiness. It's almost like she's looking for a way to avoid traveling so far in advance. Shame on her!!! I'm not sure how close you are with your bro, but I'd tease mine and ask him to promise me NOT to have any before my wedding so that I'd be sure her was there! (insert laughter here for the sarcasm!)
  5. Thanks for the warm welcome, Samantha! ~Jenny & Kev New Years Eve, 2009 Somewhere in Hawaii
  6. Thanks for the reply, City Girl! I see that your wedding is only 5 days away -- I'm so excited for you!!! Please post lots of pics after you get back! Much ~aloha~ to your and your FI! ~Jenny & Kev
  7. Thanks for all of the replys and kind words, ladies. I'm starting to figure my way around here! As for the location, I'm not sure exactly where in Hawaii just yet. My family did a lot of vacation on Maui when I was young. Because of that, I've always loved the idea of doing a Four Seasons wedding... but the costs are just staggering! Plus, Kevin & his family have never really done the whole Hawaii experience. Because of that, we were thinking that doing one of the other islands (Kauai or Lanai) might be more fun, since everyone would be exploring together for the first time. Perhaps the nice thing about our wedding date being over a year away is that it will give me plenty of time to read all these great posts and learn the ins & outs of the whole Hawaii DW world. Again, the warm welcome means so much!!!! YAY for BDW -- I'm becoming a big fan of this site very quickly! lol Now, if I can only find a picture of the two of us that I like enough to scan in... (hahaha) ~Jenny & Kev New Years Eve, 2009 Somewhere in Hawaii
  8. Why, why, why don't these beautiful flowers grow on the mainland? lol
  9. oh, that is awesome! I love the girly makeup side of things, too, and I hadn't even gotten that far to think of hair & makeup yet. Thanks to your post I'm not marking these two down in my big wedding binder. You must be getting so excited about your big day approaching. Congrats!
  10. Aloha Destination Wedding ladies! My name is Jenny, and I'm new to the site. I'm starting the process of planning a wedding in Hawaii for December 31, 2009. I've always love the idea of getting married on New Year's Eve and having an amazing celebration to follow with all of my friends dressed like super stars. I am completely new to the site and I've had some trouble navigating. If anyone would like to be so kind as to donate some points, that would really help! I keep clicking around to see what other ladies have done, and I'm not having much luck seeing anything with zero points. Thanks in advance for your help!!! Also, and suggestions of where to start would be greatly appreciated!!! Excited! Jenny & Kev 12/31/09
