  1. I have a .....I am a Zumba addict. I can't help it. I have been doing it for about 6 months now, and lucky for me the gym I go to has now increased classes to 3 times a week.....yey! I was hitting a plateau with my wt loss but this really jumpstarted it. I highly recommmend it, if you love to dance then it's a bonus....cardio workout and shaking your booty!!!
  2. I'm sorry trphywife that this is happened. I hope everyone is okay. On a sidenote, when it rains it pours doesn't it, that seems to be the trend that I find on threads on here lately. Everyone has a dysfunctional family by the way, you are NOT alone!
  3. Amy it looks great....love the waistline.

But in the end isn't it better to know now rather than maybe 6 months after your wedding. I hope he is still being supportive with your children, obviously not financially if he has lost his job, but the best thing he can do for you at this point is to continue to be a respectable father. You and your children are in my thoughts.
  5. Hi Jaime, I read your thread and absolutely had to reply. I am a physician assistant in rehab hospital and see patients with this problem all the time. Let me offer some free medical advice, take it or leave it. First having an MRI done is really not necessary. If you already know you have a herniated disc (which it does sound like based on your brief history) getting the MRI is not going to change things. You really don't want surgery......1) you're too young 2) surgery is always you're last resort 3) it doesn't sound like you have tried Physical therapy (which is absolutely necessary) and you are not on any antiinflammatories, at least you didn't mention any, Ultram is simply a pain med. Ibuprofen is an antiinflammatory and available over the counter. You would be better off saving your money for physical therapy in an outpatient setting rather than wasting it on an MRI. Has your pain clinic doctor tried an epidural steroid injection,(ESI)...this is another option but you still need to do some therapy and strenghtening exercises. Unfortunatley you need the MRI first to do this. Many people respond well to ESI's, it decreases the inflammation surrounding the irritated spinal nerves). I don't know that I would recommend a chirpractor either, most can be expensive and require more than one visit. By the way how did you get diagnosed with the disc herniation, have you had any previous xrays, etc.? Unless you're having bowel and bladder incontinence or significant weakness in your legs, then I would say the likelihood of having spinal cancer or some other "zebra" is not likely. If you are worried however simple blood tests which are cheaper than an MRI could help, i.e. CBC with diff, BMP, ESR, and CRP. An elevation in a CRP or ESR could indicate some significant inflammatory response going on and prompt further tests. Seriously Jaime, don't get the MRI, try some of the above options first. I am surprised that your pain clinic doctor hasn't offered any of these modalities for you. I have had my fair share of injuries(tendonitis, bursitis of the hip, neck sprain) to name a few and the best thing that worked for me was physical therapy. Also a nice moist heating pad at home goes a long way. Just be patient and don't do any extensive exercise until this has improved. I hope things inprove for you it sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Just try to be patient, these things do not go away overnite, even if you did have a surgical procedure. Heather
  6. Awesome centerpieces. What a great idea. And that cake looks devine, I just want to plant my face in it.
  7. Hey Tara, Yes I have been told the noise from construction shouldn't be an issue and the wedding ceremony itself is on the other side of the resort. It just sucks that after anticipating staying in a suite with a jacuzzi I may likely be now stuck with a room outdated and from the 1970's. By the way ladies just something to consider for those of you thinking about acrylic nails on your wedding day. My sister got them done and on her honeymoon she was doing one of those banana boat rides in the ocean and because she had to hold on with all her might she ripped them off. If you plan on doing a lot of activities like hiking, parasailing, or canopy tours and etc you might want to reconsider. My nails look like crap and never grow long so I just plan to get a nice simple manicure with light polish for some shine.
  8. Hey Janelle Sorry to say that I'll be long gone by the time you get married....otherwise I'd crash your wedding, lol. I have signed the judge's forms and yes the info is ridiculous that they ask of. I don't see how it's relevant to getting married legally. But whatever, I was told these forms need to be completed accurately for them to be recognized. With all the other crap going on in the hotel renovation the last thing I need is the ceremony to not go through correctly. And I am not hiring a DJ, bringing an ipod and outdoorspeakers. Noone up to this time has told me I can't do this. At this point in time I don't have kind things to say about the Dreams wedding coordinators. Hopefully they will pull through when it matters most. Heather
  9. No problem Marianna. Keep in mind that depending on where you have your wedding, the hotel may already have a coordinator. Check with girls on this site who have used that hotel to see what their input was. I have noticed a lot of girls on here have hired WC's in addition to the one they have through their hotel. I found that doing that for me would have been too expensive and more than what I wanted to spend. I am just going through my hotel's WC and praying it all works out in the end.
  10. Hi there, I too used Destination weddings.com, before I had ever stumbled across this website and all the recommendations you find. I had done my own research for quite some time about location and when I went to my TA, I had already picked the city and practically resort. The TA just handles booking our airfare and hotel and working with guests who were interested in using them. I guess I had the false impression that they did wedding coordinating as well and that is so not the case. Yes it was only 50.00 to use their service but I would say just use a regular local travel agent or even AAA, if you're a member. Make your own save the dates or purchase elsewhere. After seeing other BDW members STD's, I was quite jealous. Ours looks like an advertisement for a travel agent, go figure. Not a lot of input for your own creativity. I don't necessarily think we got the best rates on our trip either. Oh well. Maybe this helps you out with your dilemma. Heather
  11. I totally did not mean to add that icon to my post, but you know what....it's kinda funny and appropriate to our discussion,LOL
  12. Hey I'm jealous that sounds fun. If I had a place near me that did it I would so sign up for it. Just a little side note for everyone looking to lose weight in a "fun" way. I highly recommend Zumba! It is soooo much fun. It's a cardio class that utilizes samba, cha-cha, mambo, merenga, salsa, reggaetone, bellydance, and other moves to upbeat latin and american songs. I'm completely addicted and almost have all my coworkers convinced to take a class with me. It's a great way to shake your hips and booty. No dance experience needed. check out the official zumba website to learn more.
  13. Hey all, I'm a November bride to be also, kind of jumping in on your conversation late. I was flipping through the posts and came across yours, Tara. I assume you are staying at Dreams, me too. I am there from the 5th thru the 15th. And yes much to my disgust, the freaking "new" tower is under construction and completely closed. At least your travel agent called and told you. I found out on my own when I checked tripadvisor and read someone's review of the hotel. Even the #%$@& wedding coordinator didn't notify me about it. Nor has she really answered any questions I have about it. My travel agent isn't much of a help either. I too had a suite, the jacuzzi one, for the entire trip. Now I am stuck in the old tower. My FI is trying to get us a free wedding package, the more expensive one of course and/or a free upgraded suite( they have 2 level suites in the old tower which come with jacuzzi and private pool). By the way, doesn't it make more sense to remodel an old tower....not the new one!!! Anyways I just wanted to let you know Tara you are not alone. Hope things work out for you!
  14. Congrats, welcome to the forum.
  15. Your wedding gown is simply elegant, love it. Who's the maker? Your maids dresses are going to look awesome. I would suggest gold sandals for their dresses with maybe a rhinestone or decorative jewels on them.
  16. I am sorry that you have to deal with something like this at a time when you're supposed to be happy. I can kind of relate. My parents are still married, unhappily. My mother has been miserable her entire marriage and therefore has little faith in the whole institution. She shows little interest in my whole wedding planning thing. She seemed to care less when I announced my engagement. It's very disappointing. She's always told me growing up to not get married and I'd be better off single...What a nice thing to tell your daughter from the time she was young. So hang in there. Keep your sanity, don't let these naysayers who happen to be your unsupportive parents get in the way. Your old enough to make your own decisions and don't need their approval. Continue your planning and be a better person then they are when you have your own kids.
  17. Kathy, That sounds like fun!!! WIsh I lived closer to NYC to attend. I love NY, great idea Kathy! Heather
  18. Thanks ladies for your support! I've been in touch with my travel agent. She's working on trying to straighten things out and see what "freebies" she can get for us given the fact we're being bumped from a suite room to one not so "sweet". A free wedding package would be nice or even free addons for the wedding like fireworks or mariachi band. We'll see. My fiance also really gave me a pep talk yesterday. He's trying to help and be more proactive with the wedding stuff, so I feel less stressed for the time being. Heather
  19. Kaylee, You are so not alone! I do think that the closer you get to the big day the more heebie jeebies you get. Even about things that may not normally bother you. It'll be ok. I get the same way often too.
  20. Sounds like you are already on the ball. The best thing to do is get the word out especially to those people who you really really want to be there. I sent my save the dates in March and am getting married in Novemeber. I really didn't start doing any siginificant planning until 5 mos beforehand. Dress shopping of course was one of the most exciting!!! It'll all work out for you I am sure. And congrats!
  21. I look forward to meeting him and working with him also, it will be here before you know it.
