    I am getting married at ROR April 2009 and we are thinking about going to Sandals Montego Bay for our honeymoon. We didnt want to make a long trek to get to another resort and then make another long trek back to the airport when we fly home.... Has anyone recently been there? Would you recommend it?! We are just looking for a place to relax in the sun, enjoy ourselves..not too much into the partying scene. I have heard many complaints about the noises from the airport though.. Just curious to see what people have to say about this resort and area! Thanks

    Hey jamaica08, Im living in Windsor too! We decided to make the trek and fly out from Toronto in April 2009. We didnt look into prices from Detroit because we have a lot of people already in T.O and others coming from Sarnia and London.

    We are getting married at ROR in jamaica and staying one week..and then planning on going somewhere else in jamaica for our second week. i have a lot of family that is staying at the ROR for like 2 more weeks after my wedding week, so we kind of wanted to get away and be by ourselves..

    Haha thats awesome Marip123!! Thanks everyone for your input..I thought I would ask because I didnt know if it was too much of a hassel and just nevermind with it!!! I think a short veil will do the trick!

    I have seen that many ROR brides complain that it was super windy on their wedding day.. If you had to do your wedding day over again, would you opt OUT of having your veil?? Just curious, I have no love attachments to veils or anything, so I wouldnt be opposed to not having one..and if everyone says its super windy and they would rather not have one then I would reconsider and put that money towards something else! Opinions?

    I was really confused too about the couple booking in September too- I have no idea how they were ablet to do it. I just know that it was double booked and it bugged me A LOT!!!! I was told 3 months too, but I was not told that I would get a call before we lost it. I dont know if I trust that, especially how they seem to tell some people but not others.

    Just thought I would update you, if you are getting married in 2009, the cost of the minister and legal fees is now $350. not $250.

    I am so sorry, I dont mean to stress anyone out. I was just really really upset and frustrated when I found out that our date and time was double booked. We just recently booked and the people who also booked for our date booked way back in September! I just dont want this to happen to anyone else!!!! I found I got no where writing them but as soon as my Travel Agent wrote and called them she got thru no problem..

    Does anyone know if you can request Christopher taking pictures over Michael!? Or does he just step in when Michael can't do it. Does anyone know about this? From the pictures that I have seen, I much prefer the photos taken by Christopher and if I could request him to take them for my day, then I would go that route for sure!

    Ok, Im sorry! Haha you wrote right in your first post that it was Christopher that took the pictures! Sorry!!! I prefer Christopher's pictures over Michael's. Is there any way we can request Christopher?! Hahah

    oh ya we have all the confirmation numbers from booking it and putting in our credit card #s...our TA had to call the head office of the Riu to figure it all out, and whoever she talked to said that both couples were confirmed with credit cards and wanted to know who my TA wanted to cancel. I just hope this doesnt happen to anyone else!!!
