I know some of my guests are able to book for 2 weeks, but our wedding is closer to the end of April (21)....thats is so weird that yours arent able too!!

For the days that the ROR holds 3 weddings a day, how do they go abouts letting people have where they want to have their reception (like seagrape)..is it first person to request it will get it? Im just worried that I wont be able to get the places I want and its way to early to even request for me yet (April 09 wedding)

The week of your wedding- April 8th, is also Easter week. My travel agent said that its much busier for that week, plus the rate it a lot higher than the previous week or the week after that. Im getting there the 18th- so if your still around then we might run into each other~!

I think I read on one of the threads that if you WANT Michael you have to request him. Otherwise you will get Christopher, his assistant doing your pictures. I personally like Christopher's pictures better, because of the different poses that he has you do!

Ohh I didnt know that dinners are automatically booked for Mammee Bay- which is great cause thats where I want to have it! I was also thinking about afterwards whether or not I would get my after location like the disco or seagrape.... Thanks, I guess I will have to wait...blah! I just want to get stuff done, which I guess its still sooo far away!

There is a thread somewhere around mentioning if Jamaica is safe or not and if its safe to travel outside of the resort. I have heard NOT to go out into town yourself unless its a pre arranged tour, activity, etc. I have also heard that Kingston is where its the least safe, so I dont think I will be traveling that way!

I originally thought that we would have a small amount too- under 15..but it is looking like there might be at least 30 of us now! I am excited that everyone wants to come and celebrate with us and share our special day with us, but I too was kind of hoping that it would be smaller and more intimate. Don't get me wrong, I do want all these people here because I would not have invited them, but you just never know with a destination wedding!!

I tried contacting Chandlyn about some questions (which I got answered anyways by reading this forum) and I got an email back from Vanessa saying that Chandlyn would contact me 1-2 months before my wedding. My question to you ladies is: Are you worried that you will not be able to get your requested dinner location/reception location if you share your special wedding day with other brides? How do they go abouts that, is it first come first pick sort of thing (whoever talks to Chandlyn ahead of time and plans this? or ?) I am extremely worried that I will not be able to not get my requested dinner and reception location and that is just all part of my special day! Also, is there ANY way to get in contact with her prior to the 1 or 2 months before my wedding date or do I really just need to wait till then to make my dinner and reception requests?

I am sure your travel agent can manage to make your deposit cheaper- mine originally wanted $250. from each person but is allowing us to put down $150. each..

I know for Toronto, Sunquest only flies out to Jamaica Saturday, Sunday and Monday....I dont know if that would be the same for Calgary..

Same as Ochoriobride, except I havent gotten married yet! when it came time to pick a date for April we were only stuck with Tuesdays and Fridays. I prefered the Tuesday because most of our guests will be leaving on the Saturday and that wouldnt have been fun for them to wake up to if we had it on the Saturday.

I constantly check Trip Advisor!!! It is true, some people just are not happy with anything!!!! Thats why I decided to write on here to see if I can get some other views, hopefully positive ones..I have read that you get used to the noise of the planes and eventually dont even notice it! So if thats true, then I will be goood! I just wasnt sure about the rest of the resort, how it holds up (because it is rather old!), etc.. But I have talked to others and they were very helpful!!! Yes, the drive to ROR will also not be pleasant as its like 1.5 hour drive!Eek! Oh well!

Yes, I think we are more leaning towards Sandals Montego Bay and not the Royal Car. We were also looking at Sandals in Negril, but we are not keen on the distance!!! How long do you think it is from ROR to Sandals Negril Would you recommend going to Sandals Montego Bay or do you think for our money its probably better to try somewhere else?! I was worried about the part that it is one of the oldest Sandals properties, but knowing that it has seen some major refurbishments makes us think it will be worth while!
