  1. Okay, so these dresses have been a disaster from the start! My sister has a difficult time finding dresses that fit her body well. She is large in the hips. However I took this into consideration when I ordered the J Crew dresses. Now that they're here they all need alterations and my sister HATES her dress. I still think they would be god once they're altered. Also, my FI said he wished I had ordered brown dresses. I had thought of brown and they would work great with the flowers I've already ordered. Anyway, I can still order these adorable brown dresses from Davids Bridal. The only problem is that the closest DB is 4 hours from my house. One of my BM has tried it on already, another one is heading to the states this weekend. But my sister is not able to get to a store for a while. In the photos my sister is the girl beside me on the left. * Note the dresses are pinned up like crazy in this photo. What do you think, would the brown dresses work? Are the worth starting over for? Here are the dresses we already have. Here is the Davids Bridal dress.
  2. Here it is, I actually ordered this dress in the petite size and am picking it up this weekend. I promise I will post more pictures as soon as I have them!
  3. OKay, here are my BM dresses. They have been a big struggle as my sister HATES her dress. I really like the dresses and the girls will be super comfy in them. Obviously the dresses (including mine) still need to be altered. The girls dresses will be shorter and have darts put in under the breasts. My sisters dress needs to be taken in all around. Also, they are looking for some sexy strappy wedge sandals (maybe in gold) to wear with the dresses.
  4. Wow, you looked unbelievably gorgeous!! Looks like the wedding turned out fabulously!!! I loved your ceremony setup!
  5. Hey ladies, it sounds like your planning is going really well. If you need any help I highly recommend TA Lindsay from the forum. We are working with her right now to coordinate all our guests travel plans to Playa Pesquero in Holguin. She is so friendly and doing an awesome job! She is very knowledgeable and willing to find out any info you may need!
  6. Yay, Another Cuba bride! Our numbers are growing like crazy these days. Good luck planning and be sure to check out the Cuba forum. Welcome to the forum!
  7. Welcome to the forum!!! I am getting married at Playa Pesquero January 19th, 2009. I've already done quite a bit of research if you want to compare notes PM me any time!! I am so excited to have another PP bride on the forum!
  8. I bought my dress from DB and took it home. After I got home I realized that it was available in a petite size. I'm 5'2 so I'm guessing that the petite size should be just about perfect. They told me the dress would be ready by the end of September (ordered at the end of May). They just called me on the weekend and the dress IS IN!!!!! I'll let you know how it fits when I pick it up
  9. Wow, you look great! Good luck keeping that a secret, he's going to be so pumped when he sees those photos!

The only two I wasn't so fond of were Mercy and Salem Falls. Other than that, SOOO good!
  11. I'm using the same dress, only with the boatneck and wider straps. I really like the sash on it. I had pretty much written off adding a sash but now I'm considering again. It looks pretty, gives it more shape.

  13. I've been working on our invitations all night. We decided to go with a postcard as it's really just a formality at this point (all the people coming already know about the wedding). I'm using bright pink envelopes and I bought clear labels but I'm not too happy about how they look. Can anyone guide me how to print the addresses directly on the envelopes? I have all of the addresses in a word document that I had set up to make the labels. Hope someone can help, or clear labels it is.... Connie
  14. Lindsay, I didn't know it was your birthday today!!! Enjoy your day, I'll talk to you soon!
  15. Do you still have any of the spanish phrase books left? Also, where did you get them and how much were they? I think they'd be so cute to add!
  16. I own the 23" wavy lightest blond Jessica Simpson hair extensions. I bought them and then a week later coloured my hair. They've never been worn but looked cute for a "going out" look. My head it quite small and I felt the clips fit a little awkward. If anyone is interested in buying them I'd be willing to sell them for $50 obo.
  17. Ah, that's one of the dresses I tried on. I LOVED it!!! Although I have to say your chest looks way better in it than mine did (hence me buying a different dress).
  18. That is a beautiful dress! I'm sure you just can't wait for it to arrive!!

I've just cut and copied about 5 styles to my facebook so that my sisters can look at them! J Crew has awesome options. They are perfectly inbetween (not too fancy, not too summer dressy). Thanks! They are super pricey for us though, so I hope my mother can figure out a pattern that resembles them. Make sure you also check the sale area. I ordered mine and had them shipped to Canada. I chose the embossed beach dress in "bright berry." Three dress plus shipping was just over $200! They're all a little big but even with alterations I think they're still a great deal. Have you made any decisions yet??
  21. Is there anything wrong with sending out a full invitation right away? The wedding will be in the middle of January. I like the boarding pass invites. Maybe I could also include that there will be an AHR for those who are not able to make it to Cuba? I want to give people as much time as possible.
  22. I am totally at a loss. I always thought I would do both but my mother is pressuring me to send these invites out to EVERYONE! That means approximately 150-200 people. Our budget is pretty tigh, do we really need to send out STD's and Invitations? I'm not sure which information goes on each. We already have the resort booked and would love our guests to start booking right away. I am also planning on creating a wedding website where most of the information could be posted. Any suggestions?
