  1. Hi and Welcome! Our guys will all be in flip flops (our gift to them as I can't stand pics when the shoes aren't matching). However, our guys will be dressed a bit more casually (tan suit for FI, and tan pants w/ white button up for GM). But if they are comfortable with sandal... I think you could defintely do them. But if you are going for a more formal look, shoe shoes might be better.
  2. so cute! puppies are so much fun : )
  3. I think they will love it! Who doesn't love coming back to their desk and finding a suprise?
  4. Congrats and welcome back! Sounds like you had an amazing time. And upgrade to planation for free.. awesome! Can't wait to see some pics. Thanks for the review. : )
  5. **Update** Well I have officially decided to ask her! Unfortunately since I wont be seeing her in the near future (probably not until the wedding), I had to find a different way to ask her. I'm not a phone person in general, and with something like this I probably would have babbled and missed the important things I wanted to say. So I made up a little card asking her and included a letter explaining my reasons/thoughts. It went in the box with her FI's (Sean's brother's) wedding attire and to the UPS store today. So now I anxiously have to await for Thursday for her to get it! In the meantime... here is my will you be my bridesmaid card:

We have not officially began booking yet -so I can't really give my full recommendation. My classmate used the same lady I am and said really good things. I personally am frustrated with her at the moment - but it is more do to some miscommunication on both of our parts. Let me know if you want any more of her information though. Also, there are several really good travel agents on the site! They might be able to help. 8. Strange! I never heard of them before. If they worked that would be awesome... I hate smelling like bug spray.
  9. Yep we are using one. We were going to do it ourselves... but decided a TA would make things less stressful and easier for our guests. Our TA was recommended from a classmate and she specializes in destination weddings. She did not require a retainer, however I know some do. There are some other threads about this. Try using the search function... but here are some to get you started: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t13308 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t16525 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2458

  12. I agree its very resort dependent and what you want. I'm going to ROR and I beleive they have up to 3 weddings a day. They have it set up such that there is at least a full hour between ceremonies... so the start of weddings are always 2 hours or more apart. From what preivous brides have said... the resort is so big that you don't really notice it. But I guess we honestly don't care about it. We will be so self-absorbed that day... that I dont think seeing another bride will bother me. I would actually probably go and get a picture with her ; ) I think it really depends though on what you want.
  13. Mmmm... this used to be my favorite day of the year during undergrad! Sadly, no Ben and Jerry's in Duluth. : (
  14. We planned on keeping ours really low key and really weren't putting much thought into it. Just figured we would get it done a couple weeks before our Jamaica wedding... and drag along a couple of friend, my siblings or my parents (whoever was available). Well Sean's parents just told us they want to come and are okay with flying down (they are from Canada, we are in MN) for it... even though it will be right over the holidays and right before the big trip. To be honest we hadn't really discussed inviting them, because we figured with the cost and timing they wouldn't want to. So now we will be "inviting" both sets of parents and potentially some of my relatives that are unable to make the trip.
  15. Ahh! So exciting... your day is almost here. Keeping my fingers crossed for nice weather for you! We got snow up here today (again)... just rain down there?
  16. My future in-laws just announced they will be giving us some money to be put towards the wedding! : ) Yay! We are going to use some of it for our photography(travel) cost... so I no longer have to feel so guilty about paying so much for photos when we were already over budget!
  17. I didn't vote because I couldn't decide. I like both bags for different reasons. I think the first is pretty cute and would defintely work. They seem to be good size and are a great price! I like the second bag because you could personalize it a bit more to your wedding. Plus your FI likes it. However, depending on how many you are making... the bag and the transfer material will defintely increase the budget and the time involved. So I guess I would weigh how much your FI really cares against your budget and time constraints. Either way I think your guests will love them! I think that if they are going to use the bag, they would feel okay with using either option.
  18. Wow! Everything sounds great. You should post pics! Also, love the bath bomb idea. Are they relatively easy? Mind posting directions?
