Yay! I am super excited right now... I just got word from my travel agent that the first 4 people have booked for our wedding! : ) I am so happy/excited... it suddenly made everything seem so real! : ) This past week there was some miscommunication with my TA so it was a stressful week. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for charters for the U.S. guests (which is the majority). But we just got word a couple days ago that things were ready to go for our Candadian guests! And now Sean's parents and his aunt and uncle have booked! Ahhh... hehe I'm excited

I don't plan on carrying one. I hate purses and figure its the last thing I want to worry about losing on my day. Probably have my mom or sisters help me out and carry anything extra I need.

For me, it was the combination of expense and what I wanted. The basic flowers at Riu did not meet my theme and wants for the wedding. I was okay with some of the upgrade options... but they were really expensive. I went with AA because I could the bright, tropical look I wanted at a better rate than the upgraded stuff. Plus, I decided to get bridesmaid bouquets and will potentially use them for reception centerpieces. And I can keep mine and bring it back home for memory sake. good question! I have pondering the same thing... as the majority of the group would be invited and a minority would not. Since we are all at the same resort, it would be nice to include everyone. I like christine's idea of calling it a welcome dinner. : )

I have to agree with everyone. I would have considered NOT inviting her at all... but since you have sort of made contact I would invite both. As long as your budget allows, I feel singles w/ significant others should be allowed to bring them as a guest for a DW. (IMHO)

Yay! Have a wonderful time! By the sounds of your planning post you have everything completely under control. Everything will turn out beautiful! Keeping my fingers crossed for the rain to hold off another few days for you. I have an outside event in Roseville on Friday afternoon for school... so we have all been watching the weather all week. I was going to look into when we were originally planning. However, with my Jan 2009 date my travel agent (and some people here) advised me against it as it would be too close to opening. The risk of it not being done in time or still having parts under construction was too great. Not to mention, the wedding coordinator would have less experience and things may not go as smoothly. So I guess it would depend on when you are thinking. If its later in 2009 I would say defintely consider it! The Rius are nice and it would be awesome to be in Montego Bay and avoid the commute to either Ocho Rios or Negril. Plus if its just the 2 of you, I think there would be less stress in the wedding planning portion as you can do what you want and wont have the added stress of guests. Just my two cents though. If you are really considering it I would maybe contact a TA and see if they can get more details for you. (Mine said she could probably get more info back when I was looking... but since we decided not to, I never got it)

Don't let your sister get you freaked out. I think it sounds like a great idea for the guys to get a way, so that you can get ready with your girls and not worry about running into eachother! It's just 4 hours - and they could just as easily get sunburned or what not hanging around the resort. Send them out with some dramamine and SPF and don't worry!

Congrats! For me it was such a great feeling when we had a photographer we love booked. Like you, we were originally going to try and save some cash and not do a photographer... but then realized it was such an important aspect of our day! And that is awesome that your booked guests almost doubled! I can't wait for us to start booking... so that way I will know how many family and friends are coming : )
