  1. I haven't seen anyone elses posts yet, but my favourite is #2, the lace is so beautiful and it skims your figure perfectly and your body looks absolutely perfect in it.
  2. Sometimes all the stars are aligned just right, and the gods are smiling down~
  3. Why are you going to get another dress? Your dress is really pretty and honestly you don't look fat, you completely have a figure in it. The way the dress falls from under the bustline is flattering, and the colour is pretty it will look beautiful on a beach. I think you should put a simple thin Y necklace that falls down towards your clevege, and your heals are high enough you have great legs so you don't need higher. You are wayyy too hard on yourself.
  4. Use "search" at the top of the page and you will find tons of info. Just search oot bags, lot's of great ideas.
  5. I got married in the DR last August it is a beautiful beach, welcome to the forum and have fun planning.
  6. I like the romantic feel of #4, but #1 is really beautiful and might hold up better with your hair.
  7. I agree a good photographer will help you feel and look beautiful, I am sure however you do not look like a cow, we are always so hard on ourselves. Also you are only as old as you feel, I am 40 in a couple of months, and the mother of 4 kids one who is 20, and I have decided to embrace my age. With age comes knowledge, and a sense of purpose. Post a picture so we can tell you how beautiful that I am sure you are.

We get to 9 celsius and everyone is out washing their cars, buying spring clothes, and floating their fannies down the ganny (homemade floats down the ice filled river). I say enjoy Paris in November, it could be oh so romantic and last I checked you can eat and drink your way across a cool France just as well as a warm one.
  9. Welcome to the forum we are happy to have you:)
  10. I think we can all have doubts, I myself was content for a very long time to not be married, Everton was not. It is a a huge step you are taking, but really you have been together 5 years and you love each other, do you see yourself with anyone else? If not, then marriage is really just a public declaration of the committment you already have with one another. I also think bickering right before the wedding sometimes goes hand in hand with each other. Remember you are under much stress with the planning of a wedding, the travel, and the cost. Trust that your original feelings of wanting to marry this man were the right ones. Breath and maybe take a night from wedding planning for some alone time with your fh to remember why your doing this in the first place:) hugs to you~
  11. Thank you I loved my dress and it was so comfortable, the TTd pics were the most fun we had the whole week:)
  12. Wow I didn't come across these guys in my quest for a photographer last summer. I had to make due with the resort photgrapher and it was a really disappointing experience. My TTD session was fun though (thanks to my beautiful, sexy husband), but if we had of had better photographers I think the session would have been out of this world.
  13. Looks good to me, what do the rest of you think? Who do we have on board for this meetup as of right now, just curious? Add your name to the list if you are a for sure. Karen & Jason Everton & Kelly
  14. I use to watch when I was a teenager, and I haven't watched since 1992. I was flipping by it the other day and I couldn't believe that the same characters were stll on it:)
  15. I fixed my post to correctly reflect that I was talking to my guests, not to you. I re read it and that the way it read I sounded rather bitchy, sorry
  16. Oh I didn't think you were. I was just talking about the headaches that you will have to deal with because I think most people are so use to booking trips last minute. The prices that we quote to them are not last minute quotes and people can't understand. It is really the most difficult part of the whole wedding planning process, imho:)
  17. I think it's reasonable, but I know my friends and family wouldn't have. Do you have a feel for what most of your guests are expecting to pay.

Even though I don't even have a ring yet, I'm thinking I'll be hitting up the TA's very VERY soon to start getting some prices.... YIKES! The problem is you can't get last minute deals when your dealing with a wedding and large number of people, boy did I have that conversation one too many times with my guests. The more planned it is, the harder it is to secure a good rate. Also you can't get your rates too early, I think 3 months is what is standard, without the deposit down, and getting people to put down deposits too soon is like pulling teeth. Then people will forever be telling you what a great deal they saw in the paper, and then once again you will be haviing the dreaded rate conversation:) We had one family do lastminute and bo did we hear from others about how did they get such a great rate, and we didn't. Well I think they got the 4 of the last 6 seats on the plane, not that anyone really tries to understand. I would say to my guests if you want to risk waiting and maybe not get a seat, then feel free:)

There are numerous resort options and prices to choose from but we are honestly extremely surprised at the prices we were quoted. We estimate that we'll have at least 60-80 people that will want to attend and our original estimate is that we could get a quote for about $1200/each after taxes. Unfortunately many of the quotes are close to $1800-$2300!! Are we being unrealistic thinking that we could get a rate of $1200 for each person? What is the average price the other people are paying for the DW? Any insight would be appreciated. (The quotes we received are for Majestic Colonial, Gran Bahia Principe, Ocean Blue, and Dreams) Thanks I say keep looking, we got a rate of $1400.00 with taxes included and we stayed at the Ocean Blue, for our group. The other perk was every 15th adult was free, so we were able to help out some of our family with kids with the costs. Ohh sorry I am not sure for what month you were looking at. We did off season to keep our rates down for our guests, we also had more people say yes because of the time of year we chose, easy to get vacation time, kids off school, most people take a summer vacation anyway, and the bonus was we were all tanned and the weather was great, oh except for the little hurricane(dean) we had (blew in and out in a couple of hours) Oh yeah and from my experience Red tag seems to have the best prices, use that as a guideline when talking with your ta, or better yet phone the red tag on-line group rep, she was willing to drive to meet with us and her prices were great, our ta ended up matching her price.
  20. I hope you get your Dreams wedding but their are so many great resorts to choose from. I loved Cancun, I stayed at a RIU, and loved it:)

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!! Lisa The Dominican rebublic offers lot's of economical family resorts, I was married at the Ocean Blue/Sand, and it was extremely reasonable for our families (lot's of kids) I satyed at a RIU in Mexico and i loved the service the Riu provided, very accomadating to their guests. I had issues with the service at the ocean Blue, but all of our guests LOVED it, my mom has just returned this week, and 2 of are other guests returned this winter also, and my sister and her family are planning on heading back in the fall.
  22. Happy Birthday Jill, celebrate and have fun:)
  23. Your pictures are beautiful, I am trying to figure out who your dress is by. Mine was a Moira Lee and yours looks alot like mine, with a different colour sash, mine also had roses in the pickups and was ivory. Our veils were similar also. You were absolutely beautiful, thanks for sharing:)
  24. Hell yes my invites were one of my favourite things that I did for my wedding, and all of our guests fell in love with them. I didn't do boarding pass ones but people appreciated the personal touch.
