  1. Welcome to the forum and happy planning. Kelly~
  2. Welcome you will find many helpful things here, happy planning~ Kelly~
  3. Hope your day goes as planned, can't wait for pics, congratulations Jenn
  4. I don't know anything about Kauai, but a b&b sounds so romantic, good luck Alyssa.
  5. Erica have fun, you will love NYC. Are you going to be able to look up any of the NY girls
  6. Hi Nina sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate your marriage, welcome to the forum.
  7. oh scratch that the pic just came up, really cute. Love the saying I love that you didn't put your names on the mugs, we didn't either, they feel more like a gift that your guests will use after the wedding as well.
  8. I can't see them maybe because I am on my Mac instead of my pc?
  9. We got married in the Dr in August and my husband was not hot in his suit. we got married later in the day and there was a beautiful breeze on the beach, so he was okay.
  10. The DR has wondeful art work also, I bought a few beautiful paintings on canvas while there. You can find them everywhere so really bargain them down for about a 1/3 of what they star the price at. That pretty much goes for everything you buy there. We bargained down great prices for our cigars, we had a cigar table at our wedding which went over really well for the men and women, we got flavoured cigars for the women.

I like the Chelsea area, there are tons of great restaurants and bars around 23rd St. Anyone else have certain areas they would like to go? I work in the city so I'm there 5 days a week. I would much rather let those who are rarely there get to see what they want. Since you know NY I am good with you suggesting the hotel for us. You are most likely our best source of info for our weekend. Why don't you throw some hotel's out there for us to decide on. I would rather stay away from the really touristy part also, good restauraunts and bars thats all I need!
  12. I planned my wedding in 5 months, it was more then enough time. Relax it is completely doable.
  13. My daughters and best friend are exactly the same way. Stay away from alcohol because it usually makes it worse, take some benadryl, and have a cold compress on hand before you walk down the isle.

Thats so funny about being pulled over for not wearing seatbelts, considering hardly anyone who lives in Cancun does and there were not even any seatbelts in the back seats of half the cabs there. The bus system in cancun is so simple, cheap and fast, it is the best way to travel. The cabs which we took alot because I was there alone with 3 of my children, were also simple and really didn't cost much since everything is seconds away. We also requested the same cab driver all week, we had his card and he came right away, he was great, not running the clock the entire time, waiting for us in town, ect. I loved cancun and found some of the nicest people I have experienced in all the places I have travelled, I can't wait to go back.
  15. I got rock band for the kids for easter, we have x-box 360, omg we have had such a blast. We already had guitar hero so we have 2 guitars which is fun. The kids are on it 24/7 though and I have to say I could really do with some better singing, hehe. My brother and siter's families have it also and on Sunday we are getting together for a rock off, battle of the families, hehehe, should be fun. Sure beats my era's of entertainment, air bands, although I rocked at that lol.
  16. Mo I am so sorry, I have had 3 mc's and each one tore me apart. People don't always understand that the minute a woman finds out she's pregnant that it becomes very real for her and no matter how early the mc is it is painful. Rest and we are here if you need to talk, cry, or scream. Hugs to you:)
  17. I would imagine it could actually be cheaper for you if you took the reception to a restauraunt. 100 dollars pp for the open bar is crazy, who would ever drink that much? A dinner in a restauraunt and paying for drinks has to be cheaper then that, I would think! This is not what you needed 3 months before your wedding. You should share the hotel with others so that they are aware of how little this resort is willing to help you rectify the situation, because I am a big believer in nothing in life is non-negotiable. Did you ask to speak with the person in charge of the venue directly istead of dealing with the wedding planner. And enquire that if the hotel is not allowed to move on the menu, what kind of deal can they give you in regards to other things such as maybe room rates to make up for your inconvenience, worth a try. Best of luck

  19. As much as meeting you and Karen was the hi-lite of Liams summer last year, ahhh I think this time he will pass on the pleasure a bdw meetup would bring to this 5 year old! Hell Jason I think crawling the bars in NY city, something I am hoping to have the pleasure of doing, among other things, would be severely dampened by the presence of the rugrat. Mommy and Daddy want to play

We already have time off and nothing booked yet...probably going to end up back in PV for sentimental value, but just wanted you to know how special you East-coasters are that we considered spending our anniversary with you. Whenever we make it there we hope to see whoever is free! Jamy this would be so wonderful if you came, and NY in June is wonderful. If you do decide to come let me know what hotel you will be staying at and E and I will book there. Oh it would be so much fun if you and Will, Karen and Jay were all there, you guys are my first choice of peeps to hang with. Oh the damage we could do, hehe. What if we did the cruise in the afternoon so that if some want to meet up with us later for dinner and partying that is possible. I could be a little off. Actually, I am a little off, but that's besides the point. The standard cruises run on frequent schedules and only take an hour or two. If we did one of those we could always go to a restaurant/bar afterwards and hang out. If nobody is feeling the cruise or if there are people that get sea-sick, we can surely find something to do in NYC. Some other ideas.. museums, Empire State Building, Central Park picnic, pub crawl, etc. I love the idea of the cruise, it is a good place to get to know one another. I am up for the whole shebang or just the cruise and dinner somewhere else, maybe Glenda, or Jen can suggest a place. The advantage I see to doing the short cruise is it allows others to join us later on if they can't make it early, like Carly, and maybe Glenda, but if no one is joining us later I like the idea of dinner and dancing on the harbour. How many would be spending the nite? We have to, can't head back to T.O after a nite of fun, so we will be doing brunch for sure so anyone who can't make it to the Sat. gathering maybe you could join E and I for brunch? Keep me posted Everton and I are in for sure! Jay are you and Karen going to stay in the city for the nite?

What do you say Karen want to make it a date and do this run together? The guys can come and cheer us on and then we can cheer them on at the keg party:) Think about it
