We've traveled a lot before (including the DR) and I am always consious about stomach bugs... usually if either of us feels anything at all I make a hot toddi with tea and whisky and drink like 3 of them and the next morning we're usually okay. Also, the first day we take it extremely easy with the food and alchol so that our bodies get adjusted to the new enviroment. Usually this works.

Fortunatly MY parents are paying for the wedding and paying for Bridal party to go. They are very generous. When we first started planning we were planning with a very small budget but then parents offered to "up" our plans. We're paying for honeymoon, attire, DIY projects etc. FI's family are paying for themselves to go... other than that they haven't offered or asked ONE thing about the wedding..can you tell I'm a little bitter. LOL!

I don't think she would be mad.. after all she didn't ask you to be in her bridal party. If you were her MOH then she maybe upset (not with you) that you couldn't go. I personally wouldn't go if it was such a hassel... I would call her and let her know your situation. she should understand.

I think the best thing for you to do is ignore them! We've all been threw it! People aren't familar with the whole DW concept and will ask a bunch or say a bunch of lame stupid S$#$. Just ignore. You can't please everyone, the only people you have to please is yourself. PERIOD.

I also had issues with sizing, etc... I'm very petite. very. Anyway, I couldn't see having to spend 3,000 on a dress plus 700 in alterations.. plus, I never got that "its the one" feeling so I found an awesome seamstress, and copied 2 dress styles that I wanted (top from one, and bottom from another). My all silk, swarowski, corset inside, bra, the whole shabang dress will end up costing $1,100 plus $60 for the custom made veil. I copied a Jim Helm top and a Lazaro Bottom.

That just makes me sick!! I wish people had to go through psychological testing before they were allowed to have a dog. Weed out the crazies.
