  1. I'm in the process of requesting my transcripts from the colleges I've attended. (which in total is 4) So I'm having them sent to me, but does anyone know if you can make copies of them and use those copies to send along when you apply to a school? The reason I ask is because with 4 schools to get transcripts from, I'll probably need about 5 copies of each, for the schools I'm applying to and that's going to get expensive at $5 a pop! anyone know if other schools will accept copies?
  2. I'd be in for somewhere in NY, thats not too far for us, but Philly is about 5 hours so that would be a little harder to do.

I would definetly try it on with your dress because mine was too long and had to be hemmed. Also you want to make sure it poufs the dress out enough.
  4. Congratulations Sarah! You do beautiful work and I know everyone is going to love their books, can't wait to see your creations!
  5. we love it there too, we do a trip with our friends every year. We stayed in Nags Head last year and are staying there again this year. They stayed in Duck one year that we didn't go, they really liked it.
  6. I hope you have a beautiful day today Paula! Can't wait to hear all about it!
  7. I think that sounds great! Now I just have to find some recipes, lol!
  8. hey kate, what area are you going to? we're going the week of 4th of July, theres 10 of us right now, will probably be about 15 when alls said and done.
  9. we originally wanted saturday too, but ended up with friday and it worked out so much better for everyone because they had saturday to recover and flew home sunday, went back to work on monday.

Also, anyone ever go with the chicken with peas sauce or the rum butter chicken? What does welcome bar service mean? Does that mean it is only at the beginning and there is no actual open bar the remaining hours of the reception and just wine available?? I hope not. If so, how long does it actually last? I don't know what I would do without you girls! Thanks in advance! I don't really know what exactly the welcome bar is, but there is a bar right inside the lobby, thats where we got all of our drinks and they do have waiters coming around to get you drinks too. I sent the picture back to Claudia, and to our travel agent, to ask if they still have them and how to get them... On the tequila - seems VERY pricey... We could get it here for much less - but how to get it there? There has got to be another way, maybe just buy it when you get there. Steel drum band - We checked out both websites - but neither seems like a steel drum band. I know she quoted us a band a while back - not sure who she had in mind. This is the reason for our Caribbean Trio question today. On the rehearsal dinner - We have heard multiple stories on this from other brides. It all seems to depend on party size - so I asked for more clarification. Anybody heard anything about the "Adult Only" bit at the end? Wedding time - I know its summer - but this seems VERY late in the day. Sunset seems to be around 7:30 in July, so maybe not - what are everyone's thoughts on this? Just as an FYI - we have the Ultimate package, to put the menu questions in context... Translation time - seems very short (1 week) Anyone heard otherwise? Attachments - she sent a bunch - if anyone wants any, please let me know your email and I will send along... We have older questions that I will post as well, just for info purposes... I'm trying to remember katherine's bags, she either bought them at the resort or she made them, can't remember for certain. If you don't want to bring bags with you, you may just want to buy some when you get down there at the local shops, they're really close by. The tequila too, I would go to the shops and see what you can find. The rehearsal dinner "adults only" thing, I know one of those restaurants is adults only for dinner, maybe even both of them. If you have a small enough group, you could just show up at one of the restaurants right when they open and tell them how many you have and I'm sure they will do there best to accomodate you. One thing you have to remember about claudia is that she works for dreams. She doesn't get paid to go out and look for items for you, she's responsible for all of the onsite weddings. She's not an "outside" wedding coordinator and it seems like some of the things you are requesting would be things an "outside" wedding coordinator would help you with, like the bags and the tequila. My suggestion would be that if you do not want to handle those things on your own when you get there, then I would probably consider hiring someone to help you with the purchase of items outside of claudias realm. I know Anny was married in Cancun and she found a woman to help her with certain aspects of her wedding.
  11. Good Job Glenda! I think that the more people post the same things the less people actually respond, so if people use the search first they're likely to get more answers to their question through the old threads, then they will if they repost and no one wants to answer the same question for the 23rd time.
  12. I bought some off of ebay, depending when the auction ends I bet you could get them in time and they were cheap too.
  13. we booked our photographer about 6-8 months ahead of time. we also brought our centerpieces and the did set them up.
  14. yeah, the cake is really no big deal unless you're really into cake and even the upgraded one we got, was nothing special, I got it as a substitution for something else I didn't want in the package, so I would have been mad had I actually paid for the stupid ugly cake, lol! I forgot to use my cake topper too! I found it in my suitcase the next day! I think she says 3 hours are included. When I sent her my timeline, I didn't realize that, so I think I had 4 hours down in my timeline and she didn't say anything about paying extra. And to be honest, they don't kick you out or anything. Technically my reception should have been over at 9 or 10 and I know I didn't get back to my room until after midnight, we were down there the whole time. But yes, if you're up to it, you can go continue elsewhere. By midnight I was whiped out, the day went by so fast! I was really sad about not being able to keep my bouquet, especially since it was so beautiful We were at dreams one more day after the wedding and then moved to a different resort and I forgot my bouquet at dreams, I was so sad when I realized it, I would have liked to at least kept one flower from it.
  15. I thought I saw somewhere that someone got a DJ for around 220 per hour? Do you have to use the DJ she sent you or can you find your own? We got a chocolate cake, we got a bigger one than included in the package, hardly anyone ate it because the meal came with dessert and I didn't think it was very good, so if its not that important to you, I wouldn't worry too much about the cake. I got the flowers included in the package, they were beautiful.
  16. oh, forgot to mention, I did a wire transfer using the info claudia gave me and couldn't get confirmation from her that they had received it for weeks!!! I was 2 days away from leaving for my wedding and I finally called my TA and asked her to call claudia and find out what was going on and I got an answer within a few hours, so frustrating!! I don't know what was so difficult about confirming that they received it, but I was so mad and I know it happened to a few other people too, so beware!
  17. Paula, you did such an amazing job with everything! I wish I was coming to your wedding! Good luck, have a great time, can't wait to see your pictures and hear about everything!
  18. I think his photos look really good. At the time when I was booking he didn't have a website and I couln't even get the name of the photographer from claudia for the longest time. I think if you don't have it in your budget to hire someone else, you'll still get beautiful photos from Juan.
  19. Our TA told us we didn't need to put a deposit down and when I asked claudia she said we didn't have to because our TA's agency is one of the largest bookers of weddings at dreams cancun. However, towards the end I was getting nervous because I hadn't given a deposit and a lot of other girls had, so I ended up sending half of the wedding package, but it wasn't until a month before the wedding. I think they usually do require 50% down unless you are working with an agent that they work with frequently. Also, about getting credits for items you aren't using. It was tough to negotiate the credits, however, I thought of things that I wanted that were considered "extras" and tried to do an even swap for the things I wanted. So, I got the gazebo decor, a larger cake (which was pointless because no one ate it) there was something else too, I can't remember what.
  20. Good Luck Crissy! I've been back on ww for a couple of weeks and have lost about 8 lbs. This weeks I've been kind of busy and not so good at tracking my points, so we'll see at the end of the week how I did.
  21. Me too! I'm not in great shape right now either, but I've always been like this and people always ask if I'm ok, I hate it!
  22. It's finally time Paula!! I feel like I've been waiting for your wedding ever since mine passed! Good Luck, enjoy yourself, don't worry about anything!
  23. I made these for lunch, they were delicious!!! I want to make them for dinner too, but I think I should probably eat something else, lol!
  24. I LOVE sweet potato fries!!! I picked up some sweet potatoes today and I'm going to make some for lunch!
  25. I'm not going to lie to you, the first time me and my friend did it, we left the room feeling like we were going to puke any minute. The seat definetly hurts your butt, both while you're doing the workout and after, but after going a couple of times the seat didn't bother me at all. It is a very intense workout, but SOOO worth it! My legs and butt were in such good shape the year that I was spinning. I used to try to do it 1-2 times a week along with other aerobic workouts. It really is a great class and even if you feel totally horrible after your first class, make yourself go back. It really does get easier after just going a couple of times. Good Luck! I really want to join my gym again so that I can spin!
