Just my suggestion. I know if I stuck with the lady I went to the first time I defintiely wouldn't have kept going... she was BORING! OK, so I confess i skipped my weigh in last week! I ended up drinking too much wine with friends wednesday nigth and then of course I ate chips and dips, and all sorts of non-diet friendly stuff. Anyway I am hopefully back on track now so I hope for a stay the same or loss for Thursday... Oh, and no matter what week you're on get that Week 3 or 4 booklet with the exercise plan - it is SO helpful! I plan on getting my points through power yoga, stationary bike and wallking... Jilly - not only does muscle weigh more than fat but SORE MUSCLES HOLD WATER!!! Which means your loss will probably show up next week once your muscles "heal." stay strong and keep at it. You will definitely lose more weight by eating right AND exercising in the long run... and that's what counts! On that note I am going to try and hop onto the bike before going out tonight but I just can't get up from the computer! Oooh, thanks for that Kash, I didn't know that, although I did so bad this week that I'm sure it was all for nothing!! I'm going to start going to meetings, I'm pretty sure they're on monday nights. Steve said that Barcardi and diet coke is 0 calories (not sure if it's true), but if so why does the WW calculator, calculate them at 2 points? All alcohol has calories, I believe a shot of bacardi is around 90 calories or so? So, I usually try to have drinks that I can use a non calorie mixer, like Diet Coke, Soda water, or my favorite, crystal light. Or have wine, if I'm at home, I'll just measure out a glass of wine.

It doesn't take long to get a lot accumulated once you start posting in the different areas of the forum. MOOOOOOOO!!! I just finished reading through this whole thread, you ladies are so funny!! I wish I had big boobs like some of you ladies, the worst part is that mine are small and when I lose weight it usually comes from my boobs first! Why can't it come off my Ass! I eat for so many different reasons. I'm definetly an emotional eater, if I'm upset I'll eat anything I can find! But I've also noticed that the different weeks of the month I am very different. For example, I have one week a month that I can stick to my diet perfect and will not give in to anything. I have another week in my month where no matter what I eat, my body never feels full. I also usually have a week where I don't feel very hungry at all. I feel like a hormonal mess!! My other problem is when I drink. I don't drink very much anymore specifically for this reason, but I wake up the next day STARVING!! And cereal, fruit, veggies, etc... is not going to calm the feeling I have for greasy pizza, chocolate, ice cream, and any other totally disgusting thing that I shouldn't be eating! This is why I don't drink anymore. But I did last night and today I feel like such a fat cow!! Can I get a Moo Moo!!!

everything looks great! You've been busy!

I've done WW on and off for many years, lol! It really is a great program if you stick to it. I was doing really good with it for a few weeks, I lost 10 lbs. and then I started exercising. I exercised hard 4 times last week, could barely walk I was so sore and I gained 5 lbs. Now I understand muscle weighs more than fat, but how demotivating is that!! I should have just stuck to not exercising and I probably would have lost a few pounds!! I also an issue with drinking. I don't drink much anymore because I know when I do, the next day all I want to do it EAT! and not good food, every greasy, fatty, chocolate, thing I can get my hands on. Why do I sabotage myself!! So when I sabotage myself, then I totally fall off the wagon, I've been okay this week, but not totally counting points and I'm not even going near the scale!! I think maybe if I go to the meetings it will help keep me more accountable. So, I'm in for the virtual weigh ins, even though I already got married! I think the meetings I will be going to are on mondays, yikes! can't have a bad weekend with monday weigh ins!

I know I'm late to this and I agree with everyone else. I enjoy seeing everyones sig pics and I think that if someone has a problem with them, they could have written a nicer post about it. It really was very attacking the way it was worded and had a very offensive title. For a newer member to basically attack the way the forum is run, is kind of a personal attack on all of us and I know that most of us are very protective of the forum.

when I started planning I was totally against cancun, I looked into dreams tulum and heard about how far it was from the airport and decided against it, the more I looked into dreams cancun the more I liked it, so that worked out! Anyway, what I wanted to say was that it's your day and you should choose the resort that you will be happy with. For me, it was important that as many of our friends and family could make it as possible. Some of our friends and family could only come down for 3 nights and I didn't like the idea of them spending so much of their time travelling (between arriving at the airport early, flight, and drive time that equates to about 10 hours) thats a lot of wasted time on a 3 night get away. As others have said too it's important to consider the age group and the likes of the group. I know my brother and his friend were living it up in cancun and even my mom and her friends went out to coco bongo a few times, they had a blast. I don't know if my brother would have had as much fun in tulum because it's so much quieter. I think they're both beautiful resorts and your wedding will be perfect at either one, I think you should sit down and figure out what is important to you.

I forgot to mention earlier about the pizza. I am very picky about pizza, I've never had NY pizza, but there are certain places here that I love the pizza. Actually, DH's father owns a pizza shop, lol, and his pizza is one of my top choices! so what's so different about NY pizza?

So I figured I would write a little review of my limited experience from a New York gal's perspective. Keep in mind that I have never been to Boston and my stay was very short. You know how everytime you go visit a city or a country you have that one thing you want to see? Well my big thing about Boston was that I wanted to hear a Boston accent in person. I have never met anyone with a Boston accent so I wanted to hear one really badly. I wanted to see if people really had accents like they do in the movies. (Yes I realize that this is super ignorant of me, but at least I'm being honest) Unfortunately I could not find one person with an accent! My friends told me that the Boston accent I see in movies is greatly exaggerated just the way the NY "brooklyn mobster" accent is always exaggerated. I was truly very sad about that. LOl. Some things I observed: 1. The bars close at 1AM. Last call is at 12:30. Ummm yeah this is not acceptable. Most NYers don't even get to the bar till 12AM. I guess you just learn to deal with it. 2. All the bathrooms in the bars had these weird trash cans. They looked like these high tech trash cans from the future or something. Actually they looked like those trash cans they have in medical offices to dispose of hazardous material. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to open it to throw trash in it. It even had this manual of instructions! 3. I noticed in this one bar they had a sign in the girl's bathroom that said something to the effect of "If you feel threatened or in imminent danger, please contact bar personnel". Ummm yeah scary. Then some girl told me there was a rapist running lose. Awesome! I think if NY had these signs they would say "If you feel threatened or in imminent danger, KICK THAT MUTHA F@CKER IN THE BALLS!" 4. Boston people really love the Red Soxs. We couldn't go a block w/o seeing someone wearing some kind of Red Soxs gear. It was offensive to my eyes obviously and there were times where hearing the Red Sox name made me want to regurgitate my insides. LOL. Also, the front page of their Sunday newspaper with the main story was about the Red Sox's beginning their training. They love their Redsox. 5. Friday night we went to some bar called Hennessey's (sp?) It was really fun, they had some 80's cover band and I found Boston people to be super nice. It seems like everyone is Boston is just enjoying life and having a good time, which was a refreshing change from the moodiness that is NY. LOL. Unfortunately FI and his best friend decided it would be a brilliant idea to chant in the middle of the street "NY Giants are awesome". Yeah that almost got us killed. LOL. 6. We went to the ever famous Mike's Pastry's which was packed! This place had a line out the door. It was insanity, but there were so many pastry's to choose from. YUMMY! 7. Boston is a really cute city! It kind of reminds me of Europe. There were little cobblestone areas on the street and all these shops in the Italian area. It was super cute. 8. I went to this one place on Sunday (I can't remember the name Ned something or other) that was a bar and restaurant. I had beer battered chicken tenders. They were the most amazing things ever! Boston has a lot of good food, except that they can't make a pizza to save their lives. Sorry to my Boston peeps, but come visit me in NY and I'll show you what a good pizza is all about! 9. Their train system shuts down at a certain time. It reminded of Washington D.C. and Paris b/c these are both cities in which the trains shut down at a certain time. Very different from NY, since trains run 24/7. 10. I learned from our friends that Boston doesn't have diners! Well not that they don't have diners but that there is really nowhere to go eat after drinking at a bar all night except for McDonald's or something like that. NY thrives on 24 hour diners where you get cheese fries, a.k.a Irish Nachos, a.k.a. Disco fries. Boston people must be really skinny b/c us fat boys over here in NY like to eat 24/7. 11. I found girls to be really friendly and nice. You know how you go out to a bar or a club and girls are usually eyeing each other, giving themselves dirty looks? Well Boston girls weren't like this. They were sincerely nice people. And girls don't get decked out to go to the bars. People wear casual clothes, which I absolutely loved! In NY its like a fashion show and people wear the craziest outfits. 12. The female bartenders were very covered up. What I mean by that is that they wear regular shirts and pants. The female bartenders in NY dress like skanks. They always have skimpy outfits. Sex sells what can I tell you? LOL. I think that's it. All in all, I would say that Boston is a very fun city and you should def visit it if you get a chance. Just make sure to leave your Yankee hat at home! Loved your review Glenda, you should have called me, I would have drove into the city to meet you! I don't know why the city bars close at 1, I think it's a town to town thing, but I know some bars around where I am close at 2, but certain towns are different. Dumb, I know! As for the accent, your friends were right it is exaggerated in the movies, but sometimes you will run into someone with a thick accent. Diners - depends where you, some areas have them, some don't, but we definetly love to eat after a night out at the bar! People had whistles and everything. I think our friends said that they do it every weekend. It was literally 1 PM and people were drinking like fish. My kind of people. LOL. St. Pattys day is nuts! So are the bar crawls, they're a lot of fun! Great review Glenda, it was fun reading an out of staters perspective. Go Sox!

we thought about just doing the cocktail hour with appetizers and skipping the rest of it, but we looked at it like these people have all spent so much money to join us for our wedding that we wanted to host a private dinner for them. We didn't really spend that much, we did the ultimate package and just used the things that were included in the package and we had to pay for the additional couple of people over 20. You could just do the cocktail hour and then maybe pay to have the extra to have dinner at one of the restaurants.

I didn't rent the sound system for the ceremony because I thought that almost $200 for a 10 minute ceremony was ridiculous. It was very loud up there, but honestly it was difficult for us to even understand the officiant and no one mentioned that they couldn't hear anything. At first I was adamant about getting it and then I decided I really didn't want to spend more money. I think it was fine. I would say if you have a large group you would definetly want it, but because we had a small group claudia had our chairs set up really close to the gazebo, so I think everyone could hear just fine.

Happy Anniversary Erica! Paula I hope your doggie feels better, do they have any idea what's wrong with him? Today is DH's birthday, so I need to go buy a cake and whatever he wants for dinner. Other than that I'm just cleaning up today.
