Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

I have confired my reception at the Jellyfish for December 2nd, 2011! I can't wait! Mayte is so easy to deal with and I feel much more comfortable that our vision will be executed better at the Jellyfish than at the resort! We are still going to do our ceremony at the Majestic Colonial but then we will go to the Jellyfish for a cocktail hour and then dinner/dancing. I have booked DJ Mannia as we had decided on this a long time ago and I have heard they do a great job! I have been planning our destination wedding now for almost 2 years and I have only 4 1/2  months left to go! So excited now!!

Hey ladies I just stumbled across this page and I am so happy I did. I am getting married July 4th,2012 and I am almost positive we will be staying at Dreams Palm Beach. The Jellyfish restaurant seems pretty fabulous for a wedding reception. Does anyone have a current price list they can send to me?? I emailed jellyfish but have not heard back yet. The pictures look absolutely beautiful!!

Is this the best email you have for communicating with Mayte [email protected] or is there another one? We want to have our reception there but have to see if it is available! Thank you!

Digado & Jellyfishers,

Thanks so much for your helpful thoughts and suggestions. Our wedding date is scheduled for 2/20/12 and we booking at the Majestic Elegance.   After looking at the most recent wedding pics posted on the Jellyfish FB page I have started getting so excited about seeing what Mayte does for our wedding decor.  She clearly is amazing at what she does!

I concure on hiring Mayte's DJ, and am sure that everyone will be dancing all night long even if I had only an ipod playing so having a DJ is just icing on the cake.

I loved the outdoor lounge idea, but wondering if the indoor dance floor is possible if you have a big group attending the wedding?  I kind of invisioned that space would be where people would be sitting to eat.  Anyone know if that's the case or is the indoor dance floor seperate from the dining area?

Can't wait and am getting so excited to see more pics of all our weddings as well!

astef,

There is no charge for having a dance floor out on the sand.  Meaning Mayte can stage a dancing area for the dance floor in the sand, there is no actual wood/plastic flooring.  For mine she hung lanterns and lights in a rectangle and we used this as our dance floor.  I think I have pictures in a previous post in this thread.  If you are hiring DJ Mannia, I believe he charges for flooring to be set down on the sand.

Hello Ladies!

I asked the same question to Mayte about the dance floor on the sand. She can set-up an area that will be designated dance floor like Megs had or you can also have a floor rented...here are the options she sent me:

The company has 3 differents dance floor:
a. wood dance floor - 250 US
b. led lights dance floor - 500 Us
c. video led dance floor you can project there whatever you want ( pictures of you, musical videos, names..) - 600 US

I did not get dimensions. I have 65 booked already for my January 2012 wedding and so if I have everything outside I will probably go with the sand dance floor to have more space and to save money. I am debating on the indoors as well though as I thought the dinner and dancing indoors with lounging outside looked pretty cool...so many decisions!!!!

Sorry for the confusion - what I meant is if you actually want a floor (as opposed to just dancing on sand), it will cost more. If you're fine dancing on the sand then of course there is no extra charge.

Did Mayte confirm with you that a dance floor outside would cost more? Cause we finally chose to go with DJ Mannia and I think this dj provides a dance floor which could be setup on the sand. Maybe I should double check with our DJ and confirm with Mayte too. Not sure if you saw the link I posted above, but this bride chose to have the dancing inside and had chairs/pillows setup outside in a circle for guests to chill on. I love that idea, so I'm also leaning towards this option now. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
