I wish I had seen this thread when I was trying to decide! There are so many possibilities and I love so many of the ideas from this forum. I ended up picking yellow, orange, and chocolate brown. It sounds like fall colors, but my inspiration was the sunset background on my wedding website. I like the bright oranges and yellows for the fun beachy feel, but the brown gives me something more neutral to work with, as well.

Choosing colors has been a really difficult decision... I think we have finally decided on something classic, Black and Ivory. My dress is Ivory and the BM dresses are short and black to keep it from being toooo formal. We are going to accent with bright colors: lime green, a bright watermelon pink, yellows to add that tropical feel to the flowers and favors etc...At least that's the plan for now, but May 2010 seems very far off knowing how often I have changed my mind with this topic...

There are so many choices, it is difficult to make a decision!

My planner said to do something bright b/c the background in these locations are so stunning, you want a color to pop, so I kept that in mind.

Then I looked at tons of pictures (here, the knot.com or brides.com, and magazines while waiting on line at the grocery), and I found myself always gravitating to one color (orange) I'm sticking with one color in different shades, maybe with some chartreuse mixed in. I can't keep more than one idea in my head.

As for invitations -- I don't think it will matter if they match -- I have been worrying about that myself. But, they aren't going to take the invitations with them, I think it's more important for the table / escort cards to look similar. At least that's how I'm approaching it. Hopefully they will all forget by the time they get to the wedding! haha

PS. Daroc78 ~ bright pink looks great with orange & green, look! I love pink!

Or just with green....

We decided to use fushia and coral/orange.

You have to keep in mind WHERE you are having your DW rather than WHEN, at least I think. Many of us will be in the "tropics" while back home it may be winter or fall. Once you arrive at your location it all changes: the warm weather, the flower types and colors, etc...

Maybe research what are local flowers for the time that you will be having your DW, look at the colors and go from there? Or, perhapse you have favorites in mind.

Whatever the case may be, remeber that it's YOUR day. Chose whatever you may like. Chose whatever makes you feel special.

I have gone back and forth with this myself. My favorite color is Purple and if i was having a regular wedding in the US I would have done purple and brown.

I really wanted something beautiful and bright so we are going with the main color of turquoise. I like the ideas of different shades including some green tones.

My FI wanted the invites to match but at this point---I just want them done and I am not going to worry about something like that. We were going to do turquoise with hot pink but they looked horrible on our sample invite so we threw out the pink :) I might incorporate pink in the wedding but I agree with everyone---the invitation is only an invitation---doesn't need to match.
