  1. Thanks @@Meg32IL! That actually really helpful! Has everyone been in close contact with the resort? I can say that I haven't emailed or been in contact with them at all since I finalized my dates. I guess I should, but I am not sure what I need to ask even!
  2. Hey! I would love the spreadsheet! We are also probably going to have 75 or more!
  3. Our pricing for one week is $1475 per person from Toronto and $1720 from Edmonton. It's a little higher than what we wanted, but lots of people are booking on their own and not with our travel agent and finding better prices.
  4. Hey! I'm just checking out paper lanterns. What sizes and numbers has anyone else done? Just want to make sure I get enough! Thanks!
  5. I thought that I wanted two dresses. I love my dress that I already have, but it is mermaid and might be a little restrictive to dance and what not. So I tried on another dress that I thought I would love, turns out I don't! So I am just gonna stick with my first and love it! Will also be doing a trash the dress in it! Can't wait!
  6. That is awesome! Congrats and yay for a short count down! It will all come together and your day will be awesome!
  7. Finally ordered FI's ring! I actually found it on Etsy! We had gone into a jewelry store and the rings ranged from $700 and up. He did not want anything from there! Lol as we left he said, why don't we just go to wal mart or something and I will just find a cheap ring for $20 (Classic phrase from him!), so I started searching and found a seller on Etsy, who makes each ring, and I am actually getting my fingerprint engraved on the inside of the it. I can't wait to see it! And the best part, it was $140! Perfect!!
  8. Our colours....or rather scheme is going to be ivory, lace, burlap and light pinks with a hint of navy blue. My groom will be wearing a navy blue tie and the ring bearers have navy suspenders and bow ties.
  9. We just celebrated our four year anniversary and are getting married in October!
  10. I agree, I love the look of mason jars, just unsure how they will be to pack and bring down. I love the look of flowers but I cannot justify the cost!! We will be doing bridal party bouquets with real flowers but that's it! I am wondering if it would work to go to wal mart or someplace and grab some vases and such for table centre pieces just so I don't have to bring it down with me? Also, stopping at a florist and picking up flowers and then putting single stems into vases? Thoughts?
  11. Hey ladies! So I'm starting to feel the crunch seeing that I am almost at the 4 months mark! I finally ordered my invitations last week...had to pay for the rush on them since I waited so long! We ordered plastic mason jar mugs with lids and handles for everyone from discountmugs.com was pretty reasonable as long as you can ship them to the US. Hopefully ordering the guys suits this week. Ordering fiancé's ring as well, through a seller in Etsy. What I am a little stuck on is what to do for centre pieces. I figure we will have about 10 tables. I am ordering burlap and lace table runners from ebay as I found a good deal. What is everyone else doing for theirs? I want something simple and easy to pack!! All ideas would be awesome!!
  12. We booked through Westjet vacations because they were direct and the cheapest flight. So far so good!
  13. If you choose the plated dinner, you can let your guests choose between two options. You have to have the number of each choice in on the form 45 days prior and you must be able to show which guest is getting which entree. Most people do this using the place card in the table(something as simple as different coloured place cards or a stamp). And they will for sure allow for gluten free, or vegetarian choices as well. This is info that was said by the wedding coordinators during the webinar so it should be correct! I was gonna give people a choice but decided against it since I just ordered my invites today and I would need our two choices to put on the response card! Oh well! Hopefully everyone loves our choice!! That said all of a sudden I feel like I should start doing everything and getting prepared seeing that I am four and a half months away!! Yay
  14. @EmmaA1025 So glad to hear everything went well! I would also love to see the pics of your day! Would you mind emailing them to me too?! Diggleswedding@@gmail.com Thanks so much!!
  15. Six months! Yay! Seems so far away and so close at the same time!! Picked out bridesmaids dresses, was super easy! We walked in, picked it out, tried it on, and said yep! Now for the groom and groomsmen! I am going to make burlap and lace table runners, I have started to gather all the burlap from micheals using coupons, need to find lace that it not too expensive! Also, I received our invitation samples last week, so just need to finalize the wording and then I will order them. Hope everyone is enjoying the process!

    Indecisive

Hey! It can be a tough decision. The biggest deciding factors for us were the fact that FI family lives across the country and a weekend here would be the same, if not more than a destination wedding. Also, the cost of a wedding at home is more than we really wanted to spend. Hopefully that helps!
  17. I would keep all the receipts handy for all of your decor that you are bringing, as well as gifts and oot bag receipts. Also, check the limits on what you can bring in just so you are aware!!
  18. Seriously feeling like I spend all my time posting...this 150 feels like 1,000,000!!!! Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday evening!
  19. From the webinar we were told that people can choose between two different entrees but they must decide before and you need to somehow differentiate who is getting what...which can be done by denoting it on the place cards.
  20. We are getting married in October. I haven't been on many birth control for a year now but FI works out of town and I am pretty good at tracking things on my end! We plan on getting this baby making business going as soon as we are married!! Can't wait!
  21. How are people asking this request? I don't really care if people take pictures, but I really don't want the whole iPad picture/video taking happening. Not sure if I specify or if I just unplug it all together?? This would only be during the ceremony, the reception would be open reign!
  22. We are opting out of OOT bags, but we will be doing tumblers for everyone. Although I love the idea of the OOT bag, with over 80 guests attending, I just can't justify spending so much on stuff that people already are packing and/or won't use. Also, we are still undecided on what to do for favours, I just don't want to do something that people will just toss in their junk drawer once home...so I am leaning towards some sort of sweet treat...
  23. How will you pack the vases? I like the idea but I think we will have more than 10 tables and that seems like a lot of luggage!
  24. I think waiting to find out is the way to go! I am a labour and delivery nurse and that excitement in the room when you don't know what your are having is sometimes the perfect encouragement to keep going when you feel like you can't!!
