  1. Do the lights just need new batteries or they just don't work? How much to ship them to canada postal code T6W2B7 ? Thanks!
  2. I am also wanting to have burlap table runners, paper lanterns, table centre pieces etc. but am finding the costs to be huge for things I won't use again. Is anyone thinking about selling their items after their big days? We are getting married October 23...
  3. @ I didn't know there was a budget sheet for the Now Jade, if anyone has one I would also love it! Trying to figure out a realistic budget and having a hard time!!
  4. @@ironman We actually went with Danielle at Travel Gurus, they are based out of Edmonton and have been really great to work with! They cover the cost of our second week honeymoon which is great as well! Also, since we will have 80-100 people coming, we have the option of them coming down with us, they will take photos and video of the whole week, set up and pay for stag and stagettes, be available all week for our guests to book excursions or to answer questions, and also help out with the wedding day itself. We haven't fully decided if we want this but are currently leaning towards it. I was thinking that the stag and stagette could be our night out since I have checked into other options such as snorkelling or a catamaran and with the group size will cost over $2000...
  5. @@ironman Are you from Edmonton as well??! I think I saw that on your TripAdvisor review!
  6. I wouldn't worry about it. There are always going to be negative reviews for every resort, but people usually focus on the few negatives instead of the vacation as a whole! My sister has been there and says that it is beautiful!
  7. We booked our wedding for October 23, 2014 and I just sent out the save the dates last week. But, we had already let most people know and already have over 50 booked before they even went out! The earlier the better if you want everyone to be able to make it!
  8. I am also thinking 150 is going to take forever! Between Pinterest and this site I have a major addiction! Haha
  9. I also had no clue where to start, but lucky for me I have three sisters who are more than willing to help me out! The day after we got engaged, my sister had already researched a number of hotels(she loves to travel!) and sent me a list of three or four with her run down of their best qualities! We knew we wanted somewhere not too big and that had good amenities for kids all while being reasonably priced! One look at the Now Jade and my fiancé and I were both sold! We booked for October 23,2014!!
  10. That's great that your parents are there! My sister and her husband stopped in for dinner and a tour when they were just there in November. She has nothing but good things to say! Where are you doing your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception? We chose the beach, the mix bar, and the bamboo room.
  11. Wow! You are in the same boat as I am!! We are going to be around 85 adults and 20 kids! I am also trying to cut costs some place but I still want to have my dream wedding!! Any ideas people have would be awesome!! I am also trying to get all my posts so I can actually see everything on here, it is taking so long!
  12. Looks like w will be there the same time next year! We just booked our wedding for October 23, 2014!! Happy planning! Will you have a big group? We will probably have around 80 adults and 20 kids! I'm still surprised we will have so many people!!
  13. Wowza! We already have 40 booked and are expecting another 40 for a total of 80 for our wedding in October 2014!!!
  14. Hi! I love reading everyone's stories!! I met my fiancé, Brad, on a dating website. We had been chatting for a few weeks online before we exchanged numbers and started texting for a month or so...we had our first date planned and the night before I got a phone call that I had a brain tumour...so needless to say I cancelled our date and thought it would be over. However my sister and Brad's friend convinced us to reschedule. So we did, and brad has been by my side since! He moved in after 5 months and the day after he officially moved in I went in for surgery. What a way to start a relationship! Fast forward three years later...Brad and I bought a new home which was under construction, we often drove by and sometimes I would sneak in to check things out. On one particular visit, the door was open and we went inside...I was so happy walking through all the rooms talking non stop about the furniture placement and wall colours...we walked into one of the spare bedrooms and I said, "This will have to be our future baby room since it's so small", to which Brad said, "oh, you want to have babies?", I replied, "uh yeah, lots of them, you know me!", and he said, "don't you want to get married first?" "Yes" I replied with my back turned, and when I turned around he was holding the rings of my absolute dreams! I was shocked! I laughed....and couldn't stop! He had to prompt me to respond! Of course I said YES!!! We have been in our new home for a month and a half now, it is amazing! The best part is our first memory made in this place is what makes it our home! We are planning a destination wedding at the Now Jade Riviera Cancun on October 23, 2014! We can't wait!!
  15. Hi! We are booking right now and will be there October 19-26 with our wedding on October 23, 2014!! Can't wait! The only thing making me nervous is our guest list...we may have over 80 people and 20 kids!!
