    I was on the fence on whether or not we would have engagement photos taken. Since we are bringing out photographer with us we decided to do an e-session to get to know her before. I'm glad we did because she is awesome and we will have those photos forever. I personally think having photos you love is something you will never regret.

    I have the same wedding coordinator. She will respond to your emails closer to your wedding date. I've been in contact with Margarita and she has answered all of my questions.

    Yes both of my dresses are. I put the top of one dress and the bottom of the another together, I hope it looks good. It's a gamble with custom dresses.

    Thanks for the suggestion but I don't love the idea of buying the men's attire online. All of our guys are varying size and that can be tricky, even with custom sizing. I've also heard that studio suits return policy is non existent. I don't want to be stuck with clothes that do not fit properly.

    Thanks for the lists, super helpful! I know this is completely unrelated but I'm looking for a bakery to make Cake pops that I will use as favours. Finding a bakery to make them is proving to be difficult!

    We will be having a symbolic ceremony in Cabo and will be legally married the day before we leave. There were too many extras to get it legally done in Mexico and the added cost of about $600. The fact that they still take blood in Mexico is a bit too sketchy for me. Our ceremony at home is very hush, hush and will be simple.

    This thread has been super helpful! My wedding is May 22, 2013. Our ceremony is booked for the gazebo and I want to book the Baja Norte, I've been told this cannot be done until 2 months before. This has been a bit stressful as I know there are 3 other weddings that day. As for total reception costs, from the other Riu Palace brides I've spoken with, the average seems to be around $8000. This includes all of the extras like site fees, dj & lighting, dinner per person, etc. Hope this helps.

    I was surprised at how expensive the flowers are in Mexico. I compared multiple flower places in Cabo to the resort and the resort is surprisingly cheaper. I may use the bridesmaid bouquets as centre pieces on other tables.

    I will be using TAIT photography, her work is amazing! She suggests bringing a few outfits, I would buy items you are comfortable in and she is apparently really great with direction on how to pose and what to wear with what.

    I'm still on the fence about attire, its hard not being able to see anything available in stores. I really want him in a grey vest with grey pants and groomsman in grey pants. We are going to Vegas in February, I'm hoping to look at Macy's to get ideas.

    I would feel the same way if I had been at home thinking about what could be happening at his bachelor party. We are planning on having ours on the same night, I will be in Banff with friends so I'll be having too much fun to worry about what kind of things the guys are getting into.

    I didn't pay any duty fees, I was a little nervous as well because you never know what you are going to get or how much you much you will get dinged. I ordered 40 chair sashes and 36 napkins.

    I am wondering the exact same thing! I think the guys attire will be harder to find than the girls! I've been told to wait for spring items to come out in stores because everything is wool and too heavy for tropical weather.
