  1. I went to the Wal-Mart in Cabo, they have very similar items to Canadian stores. I didn't look for vases specifically but I would recommend just renting them from a florist. I paid $15 per vase and used mine and the BM bouquets for the head table.
  2. Hello ladies, I was just married on May 22 at the Riu Palace in Cabo. We had the Ceremony at the San Jose Gazebo which I loved because it was very private. I personally did not want the ceremony on the beach because they set it up right in front of the pool. I watched a wedding one day with 15 other people in bathing suits. We had a private reception at the Baja Sur by the pool. My wedding coordinator was Jatziri who was amazing! I completely understand how frustrating it is to wait to plan a wedding until 2 months before but the coordinators are awesome and know what they are doing. I flew in my own photographer and she stayed at the resort so I put her as a guest. We used Angel Zapien for our videographer, we did have to pay the $300 vendor fee. My 4 bridesmaids and I had our hair and makeup done at Suzanne Morel which I highly recommend!! Their team is awesome and will not let you leave until you are 100% satisfied. There were 5 of us and we were finished under 2 hours. Their prices were very comparable to the salon at the resort. Feel free to PM me with any questions.
  3. The resort provides white linens which include chair covers. I'm sure about the sheet over the huppah.
  4. Have you considered bringing a photographer with you to Cabo? We are flying our photographer in for 5 days to photograph our wedding. I knew I wanted her for our wedding once I saw her photos and she is quite a bit cheaper than hiring a local photographer in Cabo. Some photographers offer a discounted destination wedding rate as well.
  5. When everything is said and done, our wedding will cost about $20,000. This includes, invitations, my dress, our travel for 2 weeks, private reception, paying for the bridal party attire, etc. My recommendation is to research, research, research!! I originally chose the DR for our wedding but after I got the first quotes for guest travel- which was $2000 I switched to Cabo. Good luck!
  6. My TA quit a week after I sent out over 100 invites with her name and number on them. I was mad but it ended up being for the better because she was a crappy TA! If people want to know info and can't find it they will contact you.
  7. Ask them for a price list, they will send you 2013 prices which include their salon prices and the cost for them to come to you which is quite a bit more. I've compared the prices for Suzanne Morel and the prices at the Riu Palace salon and they pretty comparable.
  8. We paid for the BM dresses which were just under $200 each. They do not seem to appreciate that we paid for their dresses and 2 out of the 4 expected we pay for them which I think is really rude!
  9. You need 150 posts before you can open attachments or you can pay for a membership.
  10. I think the guests should pay for the day pass but most resorts require you to fill out a guest list and outside guests are included, which means they charge you for the day pass.
  11. 100% of our guests will be at the our resort. When we sent out the save the dates we let everyone know that 80% of the guests attending the wedding have to stay at our resort.
  12. My brother just got married in February at the Chapel of Flowers and I have to be honest, it was an all time cheese fest! From the decor, down to the awful music!!! If you are looking for something that isn't cheesy then stay away from any kind of chapel.
  13. I'm not sure about the hiring an outside DJ. I know they charge for outdoor vendors for photographers & videographers etc. my photographer is staying at the resort so I am counting her as a "guest" at the wedding, but I am paying the $300 outside vendor fee for the videographer.
  14. You either have to pay $30 for a membership, which helps keep this site running or have 150 posts. Think of it as paying it forward for the next brides who come to the site looking for answers.
  15. We have paid for their attire for the day and I will be paying for them to get their hair done. I thought it was more practical than purchasing something they will probably never use/wear again.
  16. I've had the exact same problem! It is so rude!! At this point, if I haven't heard from them, I'm counting them as a no.
  17. I am almost finished Insanity and will be purchasing Asylum soon! I'm nervous to start but can't wait to see the results.
  18. I highly recommend Novia Mia. All of their gowns are customizable and less than $1500, the owner Adriana is amazing and so helpful! I purchased my gown from there but I also went to Beautiful Bride to try on a different selection of dresses. I've heard awful things about Ethos which is why I steered clear of there. My suggestion is to not make too many appointments because you can easily overwhelm and confuse yourself, dress shopping is exhausting!!
  19. I agree! When asked to be in a wedding party, it's expected that they are to buy their own attire. Some people seem to be confused by this, including a few of my bridemaids.
  20. You can rent out the Baja Norte for part of your reception or the whole thing (dinner), either way you still have to pay the site fee which is $600.
  21. People seem to forget that your wedding isn't about them, it's about YOU! I've had the same issues, non stop complaining and negativity. Now that We are almost 2 months away, I'm so done and have zero tolerance for it. It is so unnecessary!! The people who want to be there will make the effort to go and at the end of the day, all that matter is that you are marrying the man of your dreams.
  22. You could try local places that rent napkins and runners to get a sense of the fabric. I took a chance, ordered online and am very happy with what I received.
  23. Go to the riu website where you originally booked your wedding. It will tell you what time slots are available that day.
  24. There is a ton of info about Riu Palace receptions from previous brides on here. You just have to search Riu Palace, lots of great info and pictures!
